@TokyoSushi

Ah, Twitter says there's actually 3 more fines to come, including one for a party in the Downing Sreet flat, that's really bad!
Is that the party they had to celebrate Cummings leaving? With Abba playing?

Interesting

Westminster sources confirmed that Sir Lindsay is likely to grant a debate as soon as Wednesday next week, when MPs will vote on whether to refer Mr Johnson's conduct to an investigation by the privileges committee.

The seven-MP committee – which has a Tory majority but is chaired by Chris Bryant, a Labour MP – will then rule on whether Mr Johnson has been found in contempt of Parliament.

Yes, the flat party is the ABBA one. I bet Cummings is pissing himself laughing.

Rachelw84 · 13/04/2022 22:41

It’ll be interesting to see what happens to the pathetic Tory MPs such as Joy Morrisey, Nadine Dorries and co who defended him as “only attended a party for 9 minutes”

Hopefully they end up eating their own shoes

Tomorrow's distraction, 'illiegal immigration'

Government unveils plans to send ‘illegal migrants’ who reach Britain to Rwanda.

PM will announce the plans in a speech tomorrow. It has long been the government’s ambition to ‘offshore’ migrants. Other countries previously refused, but UK has made a deal with Rwanda.

cakeorwine · 13/04/2022 22:46

I bet we don't send any Ukrainian refugees to Rwanda who try to make a crossing across the Channel.

How bloody ridiculous! What on Earth are they thinking?!

Absolutely.

According to the Tories, all migrants are equal but some migrants are more equal than others.

Notonthestairs · 13/04/2022 22:51

Agree it's a handy diversion from FPN's.

The idea of flying refugees and migrants to Rwanda rather than process them in the UK seems preposterous.

cakeorwine · 13/04/2022 22:52

What about Syrian refugees?
They are fleeing war and conflict.
Afghan refugees - fleeing a despotic regime.

I can see those conversations of Tory Ministers tomorrow

It's just a load of nonsense to distract from the parties, surely? They must have thought 'what can we say that's so absurd, it'll take the attention off this?' Right?!

DuncinToffee · 13/04/2022 23:02

Yes Rwanda, as Sam Freedman says : sending people fleeing from persecution to a dictatorship that repeatedly violates human rights might just be a new low.

DuncinToffee · 13/04/2022 23:04

Pippa Crerar
EXCL: No 10 insiders believe PM faces THREE more partygate fines.

For BYOB garden party, ABBA party in flat & ex-spin doctor’s leaving do.

One source says he’s “bang to rights” while another adds: “This is not the only fine Johnson is getting.”

TokyoSushi · 13/04/2022 23:05

Sky News reporting now live from Rwanda saying that Priti Patel is there ready to sing 'the deal' tomorrow. I'm not sure what to say really...

We need to be careful though because it is already distracting from the parties (or distracting me at least!)

Blossomtoes · 13/04/2022 23:08

It’s not great as a distraction. They’re surely not stupid enough to believe we’ll all think it’s a great idea. Look on the bright side, it might finish Patel off.

TokyoSushi · 13/04/2022 23:09

You never know your luck @Blossomtoes !

Also, I'm sure that they know it's a ridiculous idea, so ridiculous that it'll grab the headlines instead of the parties. Right, I'll stop derailing now!
Notonthestairs · 13/04/2022 23:14

Makes me wonder if they think the next FPN's will arrive soon. It must be hard work trying to keep themselves off the front pages for criminal/trust related issues.

Blossomtoes · 13/04/2022 23:17

Anyone else think it’s interesting that the FPNs landed just after Cressida Dick’s departure?

Notonthestairs · 13/04/2022 23:18

Yes I thought that Blossom.

Notonthestairs · 13/04/2022 23:19

I thought it was a combination of she didn't want the flack whilst she was still there and/or she wasn't there to hold it back.

DuncinToffee · 13/04/2022 23:30

@Blossomtoes

Remember the Met under Cressida Dick didn't want to investigate at first
ilovesooty · 14/04/2022 00:49

I don't think he'll leave voluntarily whatever he gets fined for.

A One Show item introducing a new Nixon film

Dan Stevens: “What you’ve got is a criminal for a leader who is wrapped in a messy war, embroiled in a stupid scandal and surrounded by ambitious idiots and really should resign … I’m sorry that’s the intro to Boris Johnson.”

Dan is a legend.
