KS definitely mentioned her and maybe William Wragg?
I was pretty ambivalent when she resigned but it's pretty obvious now she was thrown under the bus to shut this down.

Another failure there then! Because it's actually opened more questions and it ain't going away!

Blossomtoes · 22/04/2022 20:24

Apparently our esteemed PM is getting very tetchy in India because those dreadful journalists will persist in asking him about this. He reckons he’ll still be in Downing Street in the autumn.

jgw1 · 22/04/2022 20:39

I have had a reply from my MP. Most exciting.
Apparently we need to be clear that these were social gatherings with workplace colleagues. Given that is the same nonsense that Janie has been trotting out I wonder if they are in fact not Michael Fabricator, but in fact my MP.

the80sweregreat · 22/04/2022 20:54

People were fined for having parties during lockdown or ( this was on lbc radio this week ) one lady drove to a remote empty beach in wales and going for a walk and having a note left on her car by the police in an empty car park saying she was breaking the law because of covid / lockdown rules etc.
Yet putting on Abba and buying cake and buying wine out the co op was absolutely fine.
Because it wasn't a party. It was a gathering , a ' not ' party all absolutely fine apparently! .. hmm
walking on a remote empty beach , or socializing at a lockdown party ? Which one really was breaking the laws at that time ? Of course his paid the fines, but it's still lying about the parties / law breaking isn't it? He lied in parliament about it months ago.
Yet politicians defend these actions whilst telling people over lockdown that having parties or gatherings were wrong.
It's the hypocrisy that I can't quite get my head around and I've heard all the arguments for and against why this is still rumbling on and on.

Roussette · 22/04/2022 20:59

80s your post is the bottom line. Understood

Fulmine · 23/04/2022 08:56

I get the impression that Johnson is a bit baffled that this has not all gone away, hence his current tetchniness with interviewees and the sheer bad temper he shows here - twitter.com/i/status/1516508115495182343 .

He was distinctly cheerful when Ukraine turned up because he thought he could bury all this, do a bit of posturing around tanks and foreign trips and everything would be fine. He doesn't understand why those tactics haven't worked, because he really thinks this is all utterly trivial because he is above the law.

ClaudineClare · 23/04/2022 10:34

I think you are right Fulmine. It is like the old school report that said something along the lines that Johnson seemed put out that he couldn't just get away with things.

Blossomtoes · 23/04/2022 10:37

That school report’s really coming back to haunt him, isn’t it? Nothing much seems to have changed in 40 years.

itsgettingweird · 23/04/2022 11:13

Oh yes - I remember something about a school report from his classics teacher I think?

Something about being baffled that the rules and expectations also applied to him!

Blossomtoes · 23/04/2022 12:03

Boris really has adopted a disgracefully cavalier attitude to his classical studies . . . Boris sometimes seems affronted when criticised for what amounts to a gross failure of responsibility (and surprised at the same time that he was not appointed Captain of the School for next half): I think he honestly believes that it is churlish of us not to regard him as an exception, one who should be free of the network of obligation which binds everyone else.”

😂😂😂

itsgettingweird · 23/04/2022 12:10

Well he clearly hasn't changed 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣🤣

Alexandra2001 · 23/04/2022 12:20

The law doesn't apply to Bojo... he has always believed this.....

In an unearthed passage from his book on cars, Mr Johnson said he used the rain “as a means of eluding the law” while at Oxford by letting the tickets disintegrate – suggesting Belgian registration plates meant he could ignore them
“My favourite parking spot was on the yellow lines by the squash courts in Jowett Walk and sometimes, it is true, I got a ticket. But what did I care? The Stallion had Belgian plates,” he wrote
“What were the poor parkies going to do? Contact Interpol? … Ha, I snapped my finger at the parking tickets. I let them pile in drifts against the windscreen ... until the fines just disintegrated in the rain.”

Apologies' if posted earlier.

So in fact these covid fines are quite different from parking fines as it is said that Boris has paid the former.
I am glad we have cleared up that.

This is how low certain people go to defend Johnson

Right wing commentators like sophielouisecc are thru hunting social media for pictures of nurses/doctors with cake/food, then cropping out the date & pretending it was during lockdown…in order to distract from Boris Johnson.

Remember when teachers threatened things going on your permanent record…. Turns out it wasn’t complete horseshit 😆

Approximately a gazillion people have pointed this out to her and she still has it up on her feed.

To be fair to Corcoran she is so dim that she didn't do the cropping herself. Se has shared onwards form Tom Harwood (may ne wrong name? ) also form GB News.

He did take it down but replaced it with a more 'up to date' image.

The original hospital trust is openly furious. But who cares, right? NHS workers aren't really a Tory vote hunting stomping ground.

I think quite a few of you will enjoy this read

The certainty is that the longer they wait, the more damage the Tories inflict on their future electoral prospects.

Very true. That’s why I hope they take their time getting rid of him.

Crikey. She is a poisonous little twerp isn't she? The level of her debate is er, low (that's putting it kindly).

'That school report’s really coming back to haunt him, isn’t it? '

School reports, seriously?! Come on I bet most of look back at the crap teachers used to spout and roll our eyes.

The 'BYOB booze' fpns are keeping us in suspense aren't they. So far only 1? So by the Met's forensic analysis BJ and Sunak walking into an office and being surprised by others saying happy birthday whilst they were awaiting a meeting is a covid crime yet allegedly bringing booze in and gathering/'partying', so far only one perp identified. The Met don't help their own credibility really do they. Before anyone suggests I find it all a joke, believe me I do not.

DuncinToffee · 23/04/2022 13:21

You are right Piggywaspushed, it was originally tweeted and asked for by Tom Harwood.

No apology and his re-post is insulting. No surprise looking at his time line.

Notonthestairs · 23/04/2022 13:23

In a funny sort of way they are stripping the Prime Minister of any leadership qualities (yes - he's managed that himself too!). But by equating his role as that of NHS staff - not somebody who approves, proposes and helps defines legislation - they are casually lowering expectations and standards.

I don't expect MPs to live a blameless lives - just not castigate the public when they won't abide by the same rules and lie repeatedly to cover it up.

JJ once they get an idea in their head can be fixated by it and finds it hard to consider other viewpoints as their one idea excludes all others. A more open minded approach would see JJ progressing much more rapidly. A. Teacher.

Oh, but it was fun in the composing, and hopefully entertained someone else along the way.
