I don't know how to tag my last thread. Having people from Ukraine staying.
Ours guests arrived yesterday afternoon. 2 mums (sisters) with a toddler each.

The reason I'm crying is this afternoon a delivery was made by someone in our area
of a toddler sized slide and a swing. Some gift cards and letters were posted through our letter box
welcoming them to our town.
All anonymous. I think it might be people from our street(it's quite a long one) so can't narrow it down.

How wonderful Flowers

Lambanddog · 03/04/2022 18:06

Oh wow.

Coronado2 · 03/04/2022 18:06

How lovely. I'm so pleased they immediately get to see people are welcoming them in, not just you who have welcomed them in to your home. When the world is really bad I try to remind myself how many wonderful people there are out there.

leccybill · 03/04/2022 18:07

Wishing them all the very best.

You're pretty amazing too.

Best thing I have read today. Lovely of you to host and so nice of the people sending them gifts. Hope they are okay and settle quickly. X

DH put the slide up and even though it's cold to us the little ones were outside with their mums.

I’m crying now, how lovely ❤️

Bloodybridget · 03/04/2022 18:36

That's great, I hope your guests settle in easily with you and that their stay is rewarding for all of you. You must be so pleased that some of your neighbours are showing support, it means your guests have a welcoming environment.

Bonheurdupasse · 03/04/2022 18:37

That's lovely.
Hope things go well

This is, by a million miles, the NICEST thing I have ever read on Mumsnet.

You are so kind and thoughtful and so are the people who offered these lovely cards and gifts.

I hope you enjoy your time with your visitors. Offering them a safe place must feel wonderful Flowers

TheSweetestHalleluja · 03/04/2022 18:41

This is so heart-warming to read Flowers

Onthedunes · 03/04/2022 18:42

Bluetrews25 · 03/04/2022 18:42

Oh gosh, I'm crying now too.
How wonderful that people are being so welcoming to those who have been through so much.
There is a lot of good in the world. Not enough, of course, but it is out there.
I hope for the best for your visitors, and all in Ukraine.
Flowers

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 03/04/2022 18:47

How lovely and normal for the children to be outside on the slide.

Well done to your local community for this support.
