Slightly over invested in this?
@BadDayForMe any update?

OP posts:
@ididntevennotice curiosity is natural. Starting threads tagging the OP and demanding updates because you're a nosy bugger who's bored and wants a juicy update is ghoulish. Rubber necking in the digital age.
Yet you know both thread I am referring to and took the time to read this thread too. Hmm

OP posts:
bumblefeline · 28/03/2022 09:53

It's all a load of crap thats why.

A lot of threads on here are, I don't know why people can't see it?

crispmidnightpeace · 28/03/2022 09:58

@Lockheart

Don't be such a ghoul. If it's real then it's a person having their life crumble. Not your next episode of Corrie.
Whatever. I'll do what I want.
knittingaddict · 28/03/2022 10:04

@Littleheart5

I believed it, still do
Why?

Genuinely interested as I see some really long threads with a highly dubious op and wonder if people really believe what they are reading. What would make you disbelieve it?

MuchuseasaChocolateTeapot · 28/03/2022 10:21

I thought it was real and hope the OP is okay. I hope it was innocent

MrsLargeEmbodied · 28/03/2022 10:49

it has been linked to on twitter

Justanotherobserver · 28/03/2022 11:00

There's someone on Twitter who writes stuff like this and you get long drawn out stories, often only just believable, that keep you in suspense. It's always fascinating and you can't help wanting more. I wonder if it's the same person.

newbiename · 28/03/2022 11:03

If it's not real - why do posters make up stories ?

MrsLargeEmbodied · 28/03/2022 11:04

hmm, the person on twitter is an ex mnetter of old, or at least their name is

orangeisthenewpuce · 28/03/2022 11:15

Noooooo. I thought it was real. I wondering what was going to happen.

Powerplant · 28/03/2022 11:25

I spent ages reading that thread 😩😩

orangeisthenewpuce · 28/03/2022 11:29

Bloody good story. Could be a channel 5 drama series

SheilaTheGr3at · 28/03/2022 11:32

@Littleheart5 well I sincerely hope you don't pass this naivety about interactions online on to your children!

I can't get over how gullible some people are

IEatChocolateForBreakfast · 28/03/2022 11:37

@YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet

Hello everyone - we're afraid we have a couple of concerns about the OP and have suspended their account while we wait to hear back from them. Please don't start any further threads about it in the mean time.

If this is the case, even if the story was true I'm afraid we'll probably never know the final outcome now. I doubt she'll pursue an account suspension to be able to update us. 😭

VeryLongBeeeeep · 28/03/2022 11:55

@newbiename

If it's not real - why do posters make up stories ?
Because they're feeling ignored and powerless IRL and want some attention.

Because they're a wannabe writer trying out a fictional storyline.

Because they know MN is full of well-meaning but gullible souls who thrive on drama (especially potential cheating husband drama) and get a kick out of winding them up and watching them go.

GrandTheftWalrus · 28/03/2022 12:00

It did seem rather farfetched tbh.

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 28/03/2022 12:06

@OverByYer

Sorry *@YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet*
No problem at all @OverByYer.

Kept you and everyone else coming back for more, though. I enjoyed it too.

BattledoreAndShuttlecock · 28/03/2022 12:07

Good story though. ITV drama waiting to happen. I'm seeing Suranne Jones as the OP and James Nesbit as the not-golfer. But you'd need a murder in there as well. Possibly of the golf mate's wife?

livyaz · 28/03/2022 12:08

Ahhh, I was hoping there would be an update with a showdown at Bristol airport

TulipsGarden · 28/03/2022 12:09

It was a great story. Far too good to be real Grin. Huge plotholes though, they really need to sort them out before sending it to a publisher.

What plot holes?

I'm interested too in the plot holes, do explain

Hahaha
Metoo99 · 28/03/2022 12:18

I think someone upset wanted advice here and lots of people here spoiled that by treating it like a TV drama. It was naive of the op to mention specific locations, I found it scary that some poster/s said they would turn up at the airport themselves.
