Slightly over invested in this?
@BadDayForMe any update?

@GrandTheftWalrus

When did they start stamping passports again? I've only had mine stamped when going to Mexico and Tunisia.
In Mallorca they stamp and say BREXIT
PAFMO · 28/03/2022 20:17

Another clue to the massive amount of socking going on were all the posters whose husbands presumably manage to function in real life all billing and cooing and going on about "happens all the time to my husband. Here's me thinking we're off to Tunisia and we end up in Toronto! It's an easy mistake to make!" And "well, Spain and Portugal are next door to each other aren't they, we're always telling people we're in one when we're really in the other!"

No. You. Aren't.

Oh that’s a pity. I was hoping we’d get another instalment that introduced a supportive sister/friend/mum/aunt with a hilarious yet loving no-nonsense style, who’d end up getting her own account and update everyone on the latest as OP headed off to ambush errant husband outside a Premier Inn at Luton

GrandTheftWalrus · 28/03/2022 20:36

Thanks for the answers about stamping a passport. I haven't been abroad since 2013 and it was Mexico so it got stamped then.

Don’t be ridiculous - it would be the Premier Inn at Bristol

@AlternativePerspective

Well there’s one bit at least which was true. She didn’t know how find my worked, because if she had she would have known that in order to see where her dh was she would have had to request to see his location and he would have had to confirm.

You don’t just get to track someone’s phone

You do with family sharing and it doesn't alert them.
Grandadwasthatyou · 29/03/2022 00:07

@Sprucewillis .. correct. My friend has her errant dh on "find my". She regularly checks where he is and he is none the wiser. He will have forgotten he was set up on it when he first got the phone.

You do if you have family sharing set up. All family members show up in 'Find my'. If OP isn't very techy and the DH has set up family accounts for iTunes / Apple TV or whatever, I can see how this could've happened.

Not stamped in or out of Spaiana a couple of weeks ago.
Carpediem15 · 29/03/2022 07:24

Spain

@marqueses

Plotholes

1 - no idea, don't have an iphone
2 - I didn't know about Passport stamping and I don't understand why that's classed as a plothole, the story didn't hinge on that in any way
3 - I was with my ex dp for 20 years and never shared a bank account or credit card, that's totally believable
4 - posters wer saying not to ring so also how some people would act

The biggest iffy thing for me would be the jokey title, doesn't fit at all imo

Passport stamp would have showed what country he'd been in. I'm massively over invested 😂
marqueses · 29/03/2022 15:13

It would have done if the OP had checked and there was a Spanish stamp @newbiename but that doesn't make it a plothole in the story, it wasn't anything that she relied on for her story to make sense.

Maybe I'm now overinvested in the plot too Grin

Did anybody manage to find the new thread?

But didn't she say their son (?? Someone) had set that up when they got their phones?? Or am I mixing two threads up??

I do know people who don't post things because they're worried it'll sound too trolling.

Tangofandango · 29/03/2022 18:18

MuggleMadness she said her DH set it up originally and her DS reminded her she had it on her phone

Cassandrainthenight · 29/03/2022 20:34

My ex registered on here years ago and created a thread with an intriguing title, the thread was about trespassers doing stuff in our garden.

It was all real, but it was taken down and declared a fake. Just saying their system is not infallible at all. He got very pissed off and never used the site again. They probably saw it as proof of their clever filtering 🤷‍♀️

Cassandrainthenight · 29/03/2022 20:42

Actually my ex’s account was blocked/suspended so he couldn’t create another thread even if he wanted. I wonder how many more from real people get blocked because some posters are over-zealous.

Not saying they’ve necessarily made a mistake with this one, but they could have…

Dietcokeaddiction · 29/03/2022 20:51

I've been abroad plenty since Brexit (France, Belgium, Italy and Spain) and not once have I or anyone in my party had our passports stamped. I know they can but I don't think they normally do.

OverByYer · 29/03/2022 20:55

I’ve been to Portugal and Tenerife in the last 6 months. My passport was stamped going in and out of both countries

I'm trying to work out why you would wish that actual scenario was real Confused why would you want that to be someone's life?

BattledoreAndShuttlecock · 29/03/2022 23:03

It's much more entertaining if you think it's interactive fiction than if you think some poor woman has just had the bottom fall out of her life.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 30/03/2022 12:10

My DH had me on 'find my'. I didn't know until I got lost driving somewhere and he called me are you ok I've seen you drive up and down 3 times. I found it creepy but he was just worried about me. I did ask him to take me off and now I know how not to share my location
