My DM is dead and I'm not interested in any fuss.
DC will probably bring flowers which is lovely but I wouldn't want to go out for a meal on a day when everywhere will be rammed if not booked up.

LovelyYellowLabrador · 25/03/2022 10:42

Yeah a lot of the places do silty rip off menus that day too
You know set three course menus when I only want main and maybe a pudding
Not more

Nothing. Mum died 2 weeks ago, have asked my kids for cards only.

TheMarvelousMrsMaisel · 25/03/2022 10:56

Nothing.

Juniper68 · 25/03/2022 10:56

Ds1 is taking me out for an Indian buffet, my choice. He's paying for dh too (his step dad) Ds1 is 24 and has a good job. Ds1 is away on deployment with the navy and they aren't allowed sims at the moment so doubt I'll hear from him?
I've said no cards or flowers needed. I'm food driven Wink

Juniper68 · 25/03/2022 10:57

My md died a few years ago

I'll be doing diy, but since this is an ideas thread... If I was doing anything I'd like to go to a theatre show or horse riding.

mnahmnah · 25/03/2022 11:00

We usually go for a nice day out to a NT place or the seaside. But this year we have a child’s birthday party to attend 11.30-1.30, which kind of takes over the day!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 25/03/2022 11:01

Normal day as we've got a lot on.

I was supposed to get a surprise breakfast but DD2 (9yo) can't keep a secret if you paid her.

poorbuthappy · 25/03/2022 11:03

Volunteering at the Cardiff Half Marathon with my eldest dd.

mbosnz · 25/03/2022 11:19

We're having a bbq - that's all I've been wanting for quite some time! Loving the weather, the flowers in the garden, the birds. . . chasing the lardy arsed cat across the common. . .

Piggy42 · 25/03/2022 11:19

Nothing as I came down with Covid yesterday.

SunflowerSmith · 25/03/2022 11:21

We never do anything, I get cards and a gift from the kids in the morning then it's all forgotten about within 5 minutes.
We don't do anything for Fathers Day either though

Innocenta · 25/03/2022 11:21

We are still shielding, so will be at home, but planning a fancy meal, cake, and I just had flowers delivered early for DM. Got a card from me and one from the dog! Can't currently contact my sibling who lives overseas, but hoping we can all Zoom as I know DM would really love that. I'm going to set up a spa-type bath for her as well while my partner looks after the dog! Grin

CraftyGin · 25/03/2022 11:23

Church and then no other plans.

ElliotGoss · 25/03/2022 11:30

Having afternoon tea at home as have a very very new newborn. Sister and DN were meant to be joining us but DD (not the baby) has chickenpox and they are going abroad in 3 weeks so dont want to risk it.

AuntTwacky · 25/03/2022 11:31

We are having Mother's Day next weekend instead

CounsellorTroi · 25/03/2022 11:36

Nothing other than what we would normally do. . No children, no surviving parents or PIL.

SparklingLime · 25/03/2022 11:37

I’m so sorry, @freshcarnation 💐

DementedPanda · 25/03/2022 11:38

Ds2 has a football match so I'll be taking him there.

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 25/03/2022 11:39

We're going to Chessington and hoping it will be less busy because people will be doing traditional things
Just got our merlin passes so making the most of them.
