Mothers Day has always revolved around my mum, so this year, as DD is now 17 and has a part-time job, we're having our Mother's Day tomorrow.

She's taking me out for brunch and we'll have a walk on the beach, then home and just chill out together and making me a curry for dinner.

Sunday we'll go to see my mum, then DD is going to her dad's as it's the only time she can see him this week (gran is not amused!).

Going to cook mum a nice dinner as she usually (very happily) lives on ready meals!

@Athena51

Adult DS coming to stay, takeaway tomorrow night and roast dinner on Sunday. DS is good with cards etc but having him to stay for the weekend is the real treat. I'm really looking forward to it.
This exactly! I'm happy just to see them.

DS2 is coming to stay over Saturday night and will treat us to a takeaway curry.Actually it's my birthday as well and that's really why DS2 is coming.
DS1 who lives nearer, will pop round with flowers if he doesn't have covid (teacher and feeling rough but testing - so far).

peachy3 · 25/03/2022 14:57

Mothers Day is my due date so I’m hoping this baby will be making his appearance soon! 🤞🏽

bloodywhitecat · 25/03/2022 15:01

Bugger all I expect. DS is probably working and he's 200 miles away. I expect DD will be with her MIL. The fosterlings are too young to know what Mothers Day is and DH died four weeks ago so he won't be able to arrange anything.

Costacoffeeplease · 25/03/2022 15:01

I have an event on Sunday so will combine that with lunch with my mum

SartresSoul · 25/03/2022 15:05

I circled it on the calendar and have reminded DH numerous times so if I don’t get a nice card and flowers at least, I’ll be fucked off. I’d also quite like breakfast in bed and a nice walk Grin. Dunno if it’ll happen, DH is a bit useless.

VeryMuchFlaggingMinty · 25/03/2022 15:09

@bloodywhitecat

Flowers

I’m working. 12 hour shifts, so I’ll only get home at 20.30. DD will have cooked something nice for us, and she’s got me a new coffee mug and chocolates (I know because they were in the shopping order that came earlier).

SpiderinaWingMirror · 25/03/2022 15:14

My sister is actually going to do something with my mum on Sunday.
So I am planning a day out. Will take youngest if I can get her out of bed. 2 oldest don't bother.

Lightning020 · 25/03/2022 15:15

Single parent here and 17 yr old ds. We are just going to Costa for a sandwich and coffee the lunchtime. Nothing fancy in the spirit of thrift. I will pay the lunch. Ds giving me a card bunch of daffodils and a hug. Hugs from 17 yr old ds are a rare phenomenon indeed these days lol.

Cas112 · 25/03/2022 15:32

going to a christening

Maharajah20 · 25/03/2022 15:33

Cooking a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings for 18 of us. 🤷‍♀️

ThisIsNotThePostYourLookingFor · 25/03/2022 15:36

Lose myself in housework and washing’s probably. It’s my only free day to do it unfortunately

cptartapp · 25/03/2022 15:40

My DM is dead. SIL and nephew have Covid and PIL live next door (and are constantly in and out) so not visiting there. DS1 is away at uni.
I will be at football with DS2 and decorating the bathroom.

Maharajah20 · 25/03/2022 15:40

@TeddyTrucks well done you! 👏 💪

BorderlineHappy · 25/03/2022 15:50

My DM is dead so I'm going out with Dil and her DM for dinner and a few drinks.
Really looking forward to it,haven't been out in so long.
Eldest 2 said they'd give me money and I buy my self something.

Youngest wil make me breakfast.

worriedaboutmoney2022 · 25/03/2022 15:54

Big hugs to everyone who had lost their mum ❤️

What are you doing on Sunday, Mother’s Day ?
wishingonastar95 · 25/03/2022 15:58

Having sandwiches and cakes for lunch with DH, DD & DS. Day playing games together then pub tea with the in laws.

My mum has covid so it'll be the first year I've ever not seen her on Mothers Day Sad

wishingonastar95 · 25/03/2022 15:59

Thinking of those who have lost their mums Thanks

SmellyOldOwls · 25/03/2022 17:03

I've been presented with a card and flowers DS made at school and we are going for a picnic on Sunday.

Robin843 · 25/03/2022 17:07

Meeting up with both adult DC, their partners and the grandchildren and going to the Roald Dahl museum followed by late lunch. I've wanted to go there for years so I'm really looking forward to it.

ShowOfHands · 25/03/2022 17:11

DH made plans. Breakfast with MIL and then a surprise.

In reality, I have horrible Covid and will likely remain in bed for the day.

miroo · 25/03/2022 17:12

I have Covid, so nothing. DH will be taking DD out tomorrow to get a present (a plant I hope...) but much as I'd love to go out for a meal, I just can't face eating (thanks Covid.)

LimeSupper · 25/03/2022 17:14

Going to the zoo, I’m really looking forward to it. Hoping for coffee in bed, homemade cards and a bunch of flowers too which I normally receive.

Runnerduck34 · 25/03/2022 17:15

I'm torn, we usually make a day of it, NT garden, cream tea or similar. However one DD has to work another is travelling home and won't be home till late afternoon, I should visit my mum who has dementia and lives an hour away.
Plus I've tested positive for covid so may not be clear by Sunday anyway!
So all a bit up in the air, and as usual up to me organise everything.
Anyway hope you have a lovely relaxing day OP if I had no constraints I'd go for a lovely country walk or visit a garden followed by a cream tea and snuggly movie night at home with possibly a takeaway, ooh and can I fit in a long relaxing uninterrupted bath with lots of bubbles?!

Sorry to all those who have lost their mums.
