@Juniper68

Must be hard to hearing from dc knowing they are in let's say "sensitive" waters. Next year dd will deploy for the first time
Yes especially when the Russian subs are tailing them.

Ragwort · 25/03/2022 12:52

I am so lucky that my DM is in great health, she will be 89 this year. After church I will pick her up, we will go to her favourite garden centre for a mooch and a coffee and cake, then back home to our house where DH and I will cook her a nice meal, probably watch a film together and then she will stay the night and I have planned her a special breakfast as well. She always says she doesn't want presents or flowers so I will give her a charity gift for a charity she supports.

My own DS is away (Uni) but I expect he will call on the day (card already arrived in the post but I haven't opened it) Grin.

Picklesbaby · 25/03/2022 12:58

I’m nc with my mother and I’m working 8-7 . But I’m hoping the kids will be bathed and asleep and I’ll come home to a nice meal or a takeaway treat 🤣

@mnahmnah my dd is also going to a child’s birthday party which I found strange !

LimeGreenCoconut · 25/03/2022 12:58

It's my husbands birthday and my son and I have Covid. Happy Mothers Day to me!

mbosnz · 25/03/2022 13:04

@TeddyTrucks

Here's an interesting one, and not exactly one to be proud of - it will be my second day as an inpatient in rehab.

I'd forgotten about Mothers Day being this weekend until my elder daughter reminded me, but to be honest we never really do anything special per se, we've always tended to have a meal out the following week when it's much quieter. I'm trying to look on the positive side of everything as much as possible - it's one day after all.

I think being in rehab' is something to be proud of. Well done you!
Jmaho · 25/03/2022 13:07

I'm never really bothered about mothers day to be honest. My only stipulation is that I don't cook! We did try to book a table out for a carvery but left it a bit late but it's a good job really as my eldest now has covid. Probably be just a regular Sunday at home. Will pop out to see my mum and husband will see his. I saw an amazon order get sneaked away yesterday and can guarantee it'll be candles or similar and chocs which is lovely and I know the kids have been busy making things at school and nursery. Those are always my favourite things. Will have some sort of takeaway for dinner might even be a McDonald's at this rate but it's all good

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 25/03/2022 13:08

DD organised a lovely restaurant and all 3 adult children will be home for the first time in months.

The restaurant just rang to say they are under staffed and will now be closed!!

We will never get in anywhere now so I think a nice chill in the garden and a bbq-
I care so much more about seeing my DC than the restaurant-think I have mellowed over the years!!

whimsicalwillow · 25/03/2022 13:09

Going to a local park in the morning with my daughter son in law and granddaughter. Nice cafe there where we'll have breakfast. Tea and cake in the afternoon just me and my daughter and possibly son if he puts in an appearance! Dh around for lots of cups of tea and clearing upGrin

whimsicalwillow · 25/03/2022 13:11

Meant to add a trip to the cemetery with flowers and have a chat to my darling mum who died a long time ago but is always apart of my life.

bettertocryinamercedes · 25/03/2022 13:20

We are going away for the weekend and I can't wait!!

So hot tub, lazy breakfast, walk, dinner out in a county pub

And the weather looks fab.

Hope all the mums enjoy their day

suzysays · 25/03/2022 13:22

Afternoon tea in the garden (sunshine I hope) kids will play DM and MIL will call round.
Perhaps few glasses of wine and enjoy DH running around after me for the day

chubbachub · 25/03/2022 13:32

Dh just told me he is working all day tomorrow and Sunday so I will spend the day just me and my 3 little darlings (!) doing the usual mum stuff. I think it's supposed to be nice weather so may take them for a picnic in the park and pop in and see MIL afterwards.
I don't have a mum.

Phos · 25/03/2022 13:34

Nothing, DH is off out with his mate Saturday night and then again Sunday so I'll be up early with my daughter and can't think of anywhere to go. At least she has said she's making me a card at School.

Chelsea26 · 25/03/2022 13:35

we’re having both of our mum’s over for a full Irish in the morning and then shipping then and all the kids off so we can get away to the Cotswolds for a couple of night. Walks, baths, sex and food! Very excited! Grin

rookiemere · 25/03/2022 13:56

It's DS 16th birthday on the Monday so I've booked Fazenda - an Argentinian style rodizo type restaurant- foe Sunday lunch as a joint celebration.
I visited DM two weekends ago and have sent her flowers and a card.

JufusMum · 25/03/2022 13:58

My DM and DGM died a few years ago. We will pop in and visit DHs Mum who is having dinner with DHs sister. DD is away at university but she has left a card here for me.

pumpkinpie01 · 25/03/2022 14:03

I'm really looking forward to Sunday - my dd is coming back from Uni just for the weekend and my son who left home 6 weeks ago is coming back too . They are going to join forces in the kitchen and cook a roast and my mum and stepdad are joining us .

DockOTheBay · 25/03/2022 14:09

Having lunch with my kids, mum, grandma and great grandma :)

Inchail · 25/03/2022 14:20

Car boot!

Car boot, then to the beach for a wander and some icecream and chips, then a nap, then maybe a drink in the evening.. Can't wait!

Pascha · 25/03/2022 14:23

Ds2s birthday party. Other than that, nothing particular. I expect I'll get a card and some tea in bed and then we'll just get on with the day.

Christmas1988 · 25/03/2022 14:24

I left it a bit late to book a restaurant so we’ve ended up booking Bella Italia, don’t think my Mum and Dad will be impressed but at least i know the children will all enjoy it 😂 apart from an evening meal out we will most likely just have a walk along the cliffs in the sunshine.

familyissues12345 · 25/03/2022 14:25

No idea

DS1 has said we can go out for lunch, but he has no idea where so nothing booked! He's got A Level mocks so will be busy revising around the lunch so will need to be somewhere local.

I just know I will not be doing housework/washing!

kennelmaid · 25/03/2022 14:31

Taking flowers to my DM's grave and to that of my younger sister who's buried next to her Sad

My DS usually sends ne flowers and will probably call me but I'm unlikely to see him because he lives 200 Mike's away.

kennelmaid · 25/03/2022 14:33

*miles, not Mike's Confused

anotherheadache · 25/03/2022 14:36

Having DM and DMIL round to ours as DH is going to cook a roast dinner. Looking forward to it. Very bless that my DM and DMIL get on well so we often do stuff together.
