Oh, Nazanin. How dignified you are.

Just seen a clip of the press conference she gave. How generous of her to share it with the daughter of a man still trapped in Iran.

How composed and articulate she is. Honestly, with so many fucking idiots in power, how do we keep the faith in the face of what happened to Nazanin.

Isn't she just? She's magnificent.

I wonder what she'll do next? Obviously she needs time to adjust but it feels like she has a platform and is ready to use it.

AnyFucker · 21/03/2022 13:17

Indeed.

Such grace in the face of unforgivable, monumental incompetency by successive Home Secretaries and the British Government overall.

MissyB1 · 21/03/2022 13:28

She’s amazing!

AnneLovesGilbert · 21/03/2022 13:29

She’s so composed but with such an easy laugh. Really moving. If you watch the whole thing back you’ll see her decline to answer at least one of the more idiotic questions with conviction and grace.

They’ve all been through so much we can’t even imagine and I hope they can heal together and enjoy being a family.

knowinglesseveryday · 21/03/2022 13:32

She really is.

AnyFucker · 21/03/2022 13:37

Our so called “leaders” could learn a thing or two from her.

She makes me feel embarrassed for them and very, very angry for all of us.

Both she and her husband are the most dignified and compassionate people I have ever seen. She made her points clearly and without a fuss, but make them she did and that's extremely powerful. We have no idea how angry she or Richard may be but their absolute grace is awe inspiring.

TanteRose · 21/03/2022 14:12

Just seen these clips and also read the transcript/memo in the Graun.

What a remarkable woman she is!
Wonder if she’ll join MN Wink

BlingLoving · 21/03/2022 14:13

Dh watched the whole thing - I've only seem some clips. He said she was incredible but he was a bit annoyed by how much of the focus was on her husband and what he has been doing. He felt he wanted to hear from her about her!

Ragwort · 21/03/2022 14:16

So dignified and articulate.

LizBennet · 21/03/2022 14:17

She's fab ❤️

Slothtoes · 21/03/2022 14:18

So relieved she’s finally free and very grateful that she’s using her platform. She’s incredible.

I don't agree with this - Richard spoke for a few minutes at the beginning, but the rest was mostly Nazanin. There were a couple of questions that Richard answered, but this was because Tulip specifically asked at the beginning that any particularly political questions were directed at herself of Richard (presumably at Nazanin's request prior to the press conference).

Wasn't she just so elegant and collected? A model of strength. And the adoration which spilled out her husband every time he looked at her was just beautiful. I wish them so much luck and happiness - it's going to be a happy but tough few months of re-integration as a family I'm sure.

JammyCandy · 21/03/2022 14:23

So so happy she’s home. Hope she can have privacy though if that’s what she wants, & the media don’t hound her.

Oh, I think she has a huge amount of righteous anger bubbling beneath the surface - you could see a glimpse of it when she gently disagreed with Richard over his thanks to the foreign secretary. She said later on that she was purposely choosing to let go of her anger and grudges, and to focus on the joy this moment is giving to her family.
SueSaid · 21/03/2022 14:25

A bit of gratitude for the foreign secretaries who worked tirelessly to secure her freedom and some condemnation of the Iranian govt who were actually responsible would have been nice.

AnyFucker · 21/03/2022 14:26

“Would have been nice” Hmm

Well did she say I absolutely abhor the Iranian government and everything they have put me through? I must've missed it.

I think she is angry and that’s why she declined to answer some questions. They would have been too emotional, I think a combination of anger and sadness, and she wouldn’t want those photos sent around the world. Also her daughter was present and I think there’s a happy, positive face in place for her.

I’m sure the anger is there is private and although physically she looks well I hoe her mental health will recover.
