About to land it Bratizlava, Slovakia

Nikkiten · 17/03/2022 19:31

@Tuba437 is it a nuclear fuel delivery from Russia? It seems to have landed in Slovakia

Papertyger · 17/03/2022 19:31

Marsha before I went to bed I noted chatter about lavrof plane (supposedly) turning from behind bound back to Moscow.

K don't know if that was it!

MagicFox · 17/03/2022 19:31

With the usual caveat re Twitter opinion I'm going to post this thread here because its analysis of how this might play out in the short term corresponds with what I just heard suggested in a live Twitter space convo. Thought you might find this interesting / would welcome thoughts

I’m not a huge fan of twitter but reading some of the comments on the guy who posted about the aeroplanes is crazy scary, a lot of people are suggesting putin was collecting the relevant people who will authorise nuclear weapons, amongst other theories but that seemed to be the main one.

Tuba437 · 17/03/2022 19:37

Yes looks like that's the one. Didn't even know this was happening.

PestorPeston · 17/03/2022 19:38

What is happening in Kaliningrad? It is more lit up with fires than Ukraine.
I've only just discovered fire map, so do not know if this is normal. They may all have open fires.

Sweden is paying attention

Any thoughts?

Could they be natural fires?
shreddednips · 17/03/2022 19:40

Sorry posted too soon, I think Kaliningrad has spring fires as a normal occurrence.

Ive just caught up with the last thread and this one, where has all the panic come from? I havent seen anything on the news to suggest things have suddenly taken a dramatic turn for the worse or have i missed something?

Ijsbear · 17/03/2022 19:54

^ theyhavenothingbuttheaudacity

I really think some people are not benefiting one iota from following these threads. Of course nobody wants to think of nuclear weapons being used. But keep jumping to 'omg are we going to get nuked' whenever someone posts about a possible 'development' is just not rational or helpful
There's always a chance however small nuclear weapons may be launched. But that would not benefit anyone . Speculating drawing conclusions on sketchy information only hurts yourself. Seriously step away from it, do stuff you enjoy or that just takes your mind off doom. This is all totally out of our control and if something is going to effect us we will find out^

Just got back in from dealing with an overintelligent, under-common-sensed kid who swallowed magnetic marbles.

But what theyhavenothingbuttheaudacity said.

At this moment Putin has to be fighting

  1. the war, its need for resources and world perception
  2. the media war
  3. his own oligarchs
  4. the economic war (war to keep his own people in some sort of comfort)
  5. ongoing work to influence other world leaders.

I dont think peace talks mean shit. I think that actually the Ukraine needs to keep fighting, with weopons support from the West, until they literally push the Russian soldiers right back to the border and definitely no further.

The reason?

Putin sees talking as weakness. The only, only language he understands is someone standing up to him.

WeAreTheHeroes · 17/03/2022 19:55

Interesting about the fires in Kaliningrad.

@ClaudineClare - Arnie can't run for president, he isn't a natural born American. There would need to be a change in the US Constitution for that to happen.

RedToothBrush · 17/03/2022 19:56

Oliver Alexander @oalexanderDK
Il-96-300 RSD75 is descending back into Moscow after a 10 and a half hour flight to northern Siberia and back with no stops.

Another one. On a sight seeing tour to see the aurora. In the middle of the day. Obviously.

Basically about 8 planes took off from Moscow and headed to different areas of Russia and a few to UAE, prompting a few on twitter to worry they were evacuating elite from Moscow. However looks like most stayed on the ground in cities for a few mins and returned to Moscow and some didn't even stop and returned to Moscow.

Could well have been a training exercise for if they did have to do it. We will probably never know though.

Re china I wonder if the lack of efficacy of their vaccines and the current explosion of covid cases means western areas could offer vaccines if they don't help?

Chine would never accept vaccine from the West.

We'd need a lot of vaccines for that sort of swap... China is... populous.
Papertyger · 17/03/2022 20:12

Gosh!
Ok just read about the 8 planes

I'm seeing a bond villain invitation too flea jets working then the relaxed oligarch is served a drink , and suddenly clutches his throat.
Plane swiftly returns

Igotjelly · 17/03/2022 20:13

I’m quite intrigued by those planes. It’s Russia who love a bit of disinformation and sowing of doubt, wouldn’t surprise me if they were all empty!

megynhelena · 17/03/2022 20:15

I dont think peace talks mean shit. I think that actually the Ukraine needs to keep fighting, with weopons support from the West, until they literally push the Russian soldiers right back to the border and definitely no further I think the US agrees with you. But Moscow has set out terms and Zalinksy said on 9 March he agrees to the in principle. Why hasn't there been agreement, if you and many others think Moscow isn't serious, surely the best thing to do would be to agree to terms and see what happens? You would soon know how serious they are.

If it were your relatives, or you, there on the ground, being sent out every day to confront death, would you still think Zalinsky should keep fighting? What for?

Ijsbear · 17/03/2022 20:20

Because Putin lies.

and lies.

and lies.

Would you make a life-and-death decision for your family with someone who you know has arranged circumstances where many other families have been killed?

Just look at his history. He will promise you what you want to hear, and go right on with his own agenda. LOOK.

@Tuba437 thank you, doesnt seem like to much to panic about, more likely just to be Putin wanting paperwork hand delivered because hes paranoid than anything to do with pushing that big red button surely?

I had a panic at the start when he first raised the nuclear alert level but it was an emotional reaction based on fear for my children. After the initial panic ive found im resigned to what will be will be. I am not afraid of being killed by a nuclear missile i am more afraid of not being killed by it but i cant do anything about it as the decisions are not made by me so i am not going to waste my life panicking. Also i am stubborn enough that i refuse to give Putin what he wants which is to cause fear and panic, he is a bully and i have never backed down from a bully!

Im not sure if it was on this thread or the last but someone said they had bought iodine pills, how do you know what dosage you would need or is the plan just to down the whole bottle?

Does anyone think Russia are really taking peace talks seriously or is it just a distraction whilst they carry on bombing and killing Ukrainian towns and people?
