If the civilians really wanted to escape from the neo-Nazis that have entrapped them in their homes and cities then they would have taken the kind offer to go to peace loving Russia.
Since they didn't take that opportunity it is only reasonable to conclude that they are also neo-Nazis and so need to be got rid of.

Why has Poland offered their jets to the USA and not to Ukraine direct?

Also, and trying to word this correctly. Why are the UK so heavily involved. I mean Zelensky in parliament yesterday, why not Spain or Germany? Boris to Poland last week, why not the Prime Minister from France or somewhere else. Also, Putin has made direct comments about the UK recently. Rightly so, we should be helping and I don’t think we are doing enough to help refugees. I think my question is why are the UK involved so heavily politically?

The UK did more than other countries from 2015 to train Ukraine's forces.

The UK is quite expert in intelligence of various kinds. I wonder on the basis of no evidence whether some of Ukraine's success so far is on the back of someone supplying them intelligence about Russian troop movements.

It is my best guess as to what the rules in the Kremlin are thinking.
It will seem perfectly rational to them.

Ponchek it's Ukraine and not The Ukraine because the people of Ukraine prefer that and it denotes a recognised state. It represents a more free and democratic nation Vs The Ukraine which was under a different political time (Pro Russian). The Ukraine is the way the Russians referred to that part of the country during Soviet time.

Same reason why Kiev is now Kyiv.

Highly recommend Winter on Fire on Netflix. A documentary about Ukraine and its historical fight for freedom. Now I understand it's people so far better.

Completely agree. I read about actors and pretend humanitarian lorries bringing food with TV cameras to make it look like supplies are being gratefully received by Ukrainians.

It's absolute madness that Putin in creating this FaKE narrative. Who is he trying to fool? Why is he trying to fool? If what he is doing is it the truth what is the real reason for this action?

If you read beyond the clickbait DM headline then this is what the Russian minister actually said:

He warned that if those warplanes attacked the Russian forces from the territory of those nations, it 'could be considered as those countries' engagement in the military conflict'.

Giving Ukraine the planes isn't the same thing as attacking Russian forces from a separate territory. If you're feeling really anxious then steer clear of the DM, they hint at the worst to get clicks in their headlines and bury the nuances way down in the article.

I agree with the DM warning! What you say about giving Ukraine planes is correct and logical, but Putin isn’t logical and he’s not getting his actions sense checked by a team of crack moral philosophers. This is Warcraft- any action from Ukraine and supporters is weaponised for his own aims. If he deems it expedient he could accelerate this for any reason or no reason at all.

I’ve seen this, this morning. I assume to be true but really irresponsible of them if so, in my opinion. I get they want to step up but it seems like they have gone against the army and imagine if they come back then they will be facing severe disciplinary action. Not sure if the army can dismiss them without them being present?

Btw anyone who was considering giving accommodation to Ukrainians, agencies are requesting that you only apply if you live in a city. Apparently this is because of work reasons.

Defaulting on loans ... surely they will be still servicing the debts to China, unless Xi Jinping allows them a pause.

Putin is not trying to fool anyone. I am of the opinion he believes entirely what he is saying.

Delurking with many thanks to all the posters who keep these threads going. My thoughts are with all Ukrainian people. This video shows a glimpse of the challenges that those fleeing from the war zone are facing. Mothers, with babies, young children, frail, elderly, disabled citizens are fleeing in treacherous conditions. As a society the Ukrainians seem tight knit and really looking out for teach other especially heir elderly. I wish we could do more .
