We donated , I wanted to give it all to lumos but Dh preferred to give the bulk to the central fund that was being matched by the government, so we only gave them part .

Also worth knowing that Lumos doesn't use donation money to pay for things like renting office space, fundraising, admin. That is all paid for because JK Rowling signed over the rights to The Tales of Beedle the Bard to the charity so all profits from that go straight to them, and they use this to pay running costs. Although I expect even this will be twisted in certain quarters with “oh she’s trying to buy back her reputation” type bs.

She is a truly wonderful woman. I never really paid any attention to her before I learned about all the GC stuff, barely even noticed her as the author of Harry Potter, but the more I hear about her, the more I love her. She truly is a wonderful, wonderful woman and humanitarian.

They'll more likely outright lie and say JKR has instructed Lumos to leave trans kids behind to die, or some other bullshit. The truth is of no consequence to the average TRA.

I have already given to Lumos but this is amazing considering she already bankrolls the charity.

Lumos have been working in Ukraine since 2013 but now have an urgent appeal for the country. There are over 100,000 of the most vulnerable children, many disabled, trapped in orphanages and institutions in Ukraine, one of the highest numbers in Europe, and now in a war zone.

As if our heart's could get more broken by this horror, the story of the orphans

As an aside I saw the most ridiculous FB post today asking for specific donations like nappies then Also money to pay for the Van and transport over to Poland. And Extra volunteers to help pack and unpack it all why!
When all that money could go straight into products!
