I've just told my daughter this thinking she'd be pleased and she was shocked. School have this for one of their charity weeks and she hadn't realised it was JKR. She thinks they might change their mind because "she's not nice to trans people." 😔.

Pointing out to trans women that they're not biologically women, is just a fact. They're not. Nothing to do with niceness, it's just a simple truth - in much the same way that I'm not Aiden Turner's wife, despite desperately wanting to be.

It really is pitiful to post such bile on a thread about donating to a charity trying to help vulnerable children trapped in a war zone. Seriously, step back and have a think about why you feel the need to be so hateful.

As many on here have said, she’s amazing. People having an “opinion” is one thing. But it’s just really odd to slam her on a thread highlighting the charity’s work.

Lovely woman, I will happily donate. Our family was directly impacted with family members until recently being stuck in the ukraine.

Gosh moving that must be tough. I imagine they still have friends there.

I've read up on the charity, id not hesrd of it, its amazing! Been helping in ukraine and surrounding areas for years and so v knowledgable about local area and needs etc. Amazing work.

@DragonSnapCrimson I didn’t say that people aren’t allowed to dislike a person. I said if someone dislikes a person without a reason, it’s irrational.

There’s always a reason why people a certain way, whether it’s a tangible reason or not…there is always reason.

I was talking to my siblings about the Harry Potter film series, I’ve read the book but was never fond of the movies. They were planning to read the books once all the movies were done but now didn’t want to read them anymore because they don’t like the author.

I asked my younger siblings why they no longer liked JKR, they said that it was because she was saying weird things. But when I asked them to break down what exactly she said that was weird, they realised they were clouded misinformation and misconception so I do think it’s important to analyse why we feel the way we do about things. I then showed them what JKR actually wrote about the subject and they didn’t realise that she’s not the transphobic person that the TRAs are claiming that she is.

We can’t just dislike someone because someone else said so. Time and time again, you’d see a comment on YouTube lambasting the person on the visual podcast with other people piling on agreeing to what they’re saying and then you watch the whole thing yourself and realise that that person misunderstood.

Well, the thread prompted me to donate and set up and direct debit.

I do think she's a rare one these days, and I genuinely think her legacy will speak for itself. I'm very grateful for someone in her position willing to use that to speak out, speak up and do so much good around the world.

I don't see how Viviennemary is attacking JKR by saying she doesn't like her It is allowed to dislike someone.

It is a weird thing to do - pick a thread about someone you don't like, who is doing something awesome for kids, just to declare you don't like that person
