How many pizzas would you have ordered?

Following a tense situation this evening I though I'd consult the hive mind.

Friday night dinner for 6 adults - how much would you expect you'd need to order?

(Dominoes/Pizza Hut style pizza)

Why do people keep mentioning salad 😆

Who wants to eat salad when you are getting takeaway pizza Confused

As for making a salad to go with takeaway pizza, the whole point of takeaway is so you don't have to make food, and hoose rice anyone?

I love salad with pizza - with loads of oil and vinegar

Chanel05 · 07/03/2022 11:26

3 large + sides.

Me and DH usually share a medium and no sides at all.

Troymaiden · 07/03/2022 18:18

Large one each for any male & 2/3 each for females…sorry if this seems sexist ( & gets lots of knickers in a knot) BUT blokes DO eat more esp something like pizza or curry!

I agree with PP that salad with pizza is to do with textures. I also often have a bowl of plain iceberg lettuce with pasta dishes just to add some crunch.

Yes, exactly. Something cold and crunchy and zingy is excellent with something hot and greasy and cheesy. My dislike for lasagne or pizza and garlic bread stems not from virtue but from a sense that it's too much of the same sort of thing...

But not those dispiriting diet pizzas with the centre cut out and filled with a rather wilted salad that some chain offers/used to offer. Those are an abomination.

PyongyangKipperbang · 07/03/2022 18:51

Oh I agree! If I want veg I will just eat some, dont be ruining a nice pizza that way!

thecatsthecats · 07/03/2022 19:36

We ordered four plus sides for six of us at NY, drinking heavily.

You need at least three to cover topping options IMO. I couldn't eat as much of a meat feast as of a veggie, and I like having different flavours.

We had one pizza's worth of leftovers - top tip, put slices on top of each other and shove them in the toastie maker in the morning.

Shock why has it taken me 42 years to learn this?!!!!

Undertheoldlindentree · 08/03/2022 06:03

3 large to share...with some green salad and good coleslaw bought from the supermarket. Maybe ice-cream for dessert.

Find all those garlIc bread/wings/wedge style sides too much with pizza. They belong in other meals, not together.

badg3r · 08/03/2022 20:56

Ok you have to tell us now... how many slices did FIL eat?!
