How many pizzas would you have ordered?

Following a tense situation this evening I though I'd consult the hive mind.

Friday night dinner for 6 adults - how much would you expect you'd need to order?

(Dominoes/Pizza Hut style pizza)

I'd order 4 and sides. Plenty of choice and I love cold pizza the next day.

@WutheringHeights66 I’m with you! It’s disgusting. The sides are the worst part. But if travelling and breastfeeding and starving, I’d still eat it and want a lot more than a slice.

If ordering nice sourdough pizza, six plus salad and a nice pudding.

3 large pizzas. We would have also ordered two lots of nachos, three lots of garlic bread (12 pieces altogether so 2 each) and 3 lots of wedges.

How ridiculous. Yanbu.

I'd go on the basis that every adult should get AT LEAST 4 slices each plus sides. If we had guests who'd travelled you want them to be able to have extra if they want.

I would eat two slices- I couldn't eat a whole pizza.

Ok I've found my people Grin Yes I'm the BF travelling mother so perhaps a larger appetite than normal.

The original order was 1x medium & 1x personal sized pizza plus a little 4 slice garlic bread.
After much prodding an extra medium pizza was added.
What boggles my mind is that the order was made by a man who always orders a mixed grill in restaurants if available on the menu so it's not like he has a small appetite!

I'm in bed with the baby, I've just text DH who's downstairs to go get me a subway Blush

This person didn’t want to spend any money.

My order would have been 4 large dominoes pizza & 4 sides.

We ordered for 3 last week - 2 large pizzas and 2 sides. We had loads left and ate it for lunch the next day. That’s part of the joy of having takeaway pizza!

Time was I could eat a whole large pizza myself. These days I struggle to eat a half. So sad.

If you go into the shop and order, wait for them to be cooked, collect as soon as they are out of the oven and drive only a very short distance home, they are delicious!

I agree that they are horrible delivered. Lukewarm, soggy and sloppy.

I have no problem smashing a large Domino’s, so I’d say at least 5.

I really didn't want to make this an in-law bashing thread but yes as many have guessed it was FIL.

Lovely lovely man, I think too prideful to say it was more expensive than he'd anticipated/didn't understand to utilise the deals.

Very out of character which is why I asked the question! I do tend to pig out when it comes to pizza

This is probably the issue, he probably spent the same money on a lot less pizza than he would have got if he'd have ordered large pizzas on a 2 for 1 deal or one of the family deals.

The menu prices are stupidly expensive but if not too bad if you order one of the offers or use a code. You need to make sure he knows that before ordering again.

Ooh only 1 pizza. A small slice each would be enough, then the other half could be frozen and used again. With water to drink I would be stuffed.

Are you a family of smurfs or oompa loompa's?

If I was offered a single slice of pizza and a glass of water as a guest I would assume the hosts did not like me very much.

Family - 4. Friends - 6. (because I don't really care if my family feel they haven't had quite enough, but I would be mortified if my friends went home hungry! Plus, breakfast pizza 👌🏻)
