Dunno about anybody else, but food is my comfort zone, my happy place. So bugger off doom and gloom, tonight we have homemade beef curry and basmati rice, and a Yealands 2021 Reserve Sauvignon Blanc. The Sav' Blanc is for me.

@MrsMigginsCat

Fish and chips because I've got COVID and am feeling really rotten.
I hope you feel better soon MrsMigginsCat, we've just had the whole family down with it, and it's pants. DH cannot shake it.

Tonight is legit takeout night, and I'm not sure what we'll be having - but so far I'm really enjoying this Yealands' 2021 sav' blanc!

We've spent the day spring cleaning. I think we deserve a takeaway tonight. It'll go up for the vote and I guarantee it'll end up being Pizza Hut.

Hope you feel better soon. Order a couple of pickled eggs if your sense of taste is down, I'm sure they'll wake your taste buds up! Grin

We had a takeaway yesterday. Today I had spinach and feta quiche with chips and salad

cliffdiver · 25/02/2022 17:53

Yesterday was take away fish and chips.

Today is sausages, roast potatoes, sweet potatoes, parsnips, carrots and peas.

Was meant to be toad in the whole but couldn't be bothered with making the batter.

muchprefersummer · 25/02/2022 17:55

American night tonight so build your own burgers, southern fried chicken bits, chips and salad - a treat night for the kids. I'm sat lazing whilst DH cooks!

Camomila · 25/02/2022 17:58

grilled chicken, roast potatoes, roast parsnips and green beans.

KnottyKnitting · 25/02/2022 17:58

DH is away and I can't be arsed to cook so have got some lovely oozy Brie, mature cheddar and crackers!

What a neat idea!

Reckon we might be going to nick that one!

Oven baked fish with spinach mornay and sliced potatoes. (I am not fancy, it came in a gousto box).

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 25/02/2022 18:53

Locally bred and made sausages, mash and onion gravy with peas and broccoli
Lemon meringue pie and cream or ice cream or both

PurpleDaysAreHereAgain · 26/02/2022 10:04

I am making these. When I lived in Kyiv 20 odd years ago my preferred version had a layer of minced meat in the middle. Served with sour cream and dill.

@PurpleDaysAreHereAgain what a lovely recipe idea. I hope all your friends and family and everyone in Kyiv stays safe.

I was just looking for a what's for dinner thread because I have run out of inspiration for tonight's dinner.
I have covid (and I'm the only one affected) so I think we might need a take away and plenty of wine to get me through it.

I'm dying to try these now. They are right up my street! Thank you

I've got chicken marinating in oregano, lemon, garlic and olive oil in the fridge. Will cook on skewers later and have with those Aldi kebab wraps that I'm in love with! And some salad and mighty oven chips! I think it's family Triv Pursuits night.

theotherfossilsister · 26/02/2022 14:00

Broccoli and sausage pasta tonight with a dash of cream and chilli

gingercat02 · 26/02/2022 14:50

Chicken fajitas at DS request. Yesterday was no cook as DH was away. Lunch out and DM treated me and DS to Chinese takeaway.
DH and I are out for dinner tomorrow.
Back to reality on Monday after a lovely HT, work school and meal planning 😪

Vampirethriller · 26/02/2022 16:31

Tonight it's all day breakfast type affair, and flapjack after.

Love these threads.

sweatervest · 26/02/2022 17:51

slow cooked gammon (so nice) and cauliflower cheese (i hope so nice) with alcohol (for me) and i forgot to buy any pudding but it would have been the defrosted profiteroles from tesco as they are only 1.50 and feed three and are a joy.

AdaColeman · 26/02/2022 18:03

I'm having a "using things up" night, so an apero of artichoke hearts grilled peppers and olives. Then a plate of cheese & Spanish ham with pickles. For pudding, espresso martini with little Italian chocolate biscuits to dunk in.

I'm envious of all the tasty meals on here, especially the gammon and cauliflower cheese! Wine Wine

KitKattaktik · 26/02/2022 18:13

We've got scrambled eggs as DH has got the most appalling cough (have tested negative for covid) and can barely swallow or talk.

Classica · 26/02/2022 18:16

I've made cheesy fennel seed meatballs, going to have them with sauce and vegetables rather than pasta. And I've made choc mousse to follow.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 26/02/2022 18:37

Fish chowder, with smoked haddock poached in milk, onion, potato, bacon and sweetcorn. And a bit of chopped parsley.

Lampzade · 26/02/2022 18:38

Cottage pie with veg
