Dunno about anybody else, but food is my comfort zone, my happy place. So bugger off doom and gloom, tonight we have homemade beef curry and basmati rice, and a Yealands 2021 Reserve Sauvignon Blanc. The Sav' Blanc is for me.

Whatever I fancy from the menu at the spa Smile

Peridot1 · 24/02/2022 17:01

Fajitas and nachos. Wasn’t going to have wine but given the bloody state of the world I may as well.

Sounds lovely, OP.

We are gushing lemon, ginger and garlic chicken (first time, so hoping it’s nice!) with noodles, veg and garlic bread (for the DC who doesn’t like noodles too much)

The2Omicronnies · 24/02/2022 17:02

Ooh we’re not gushing anything 😂🤦‍♀️ We’re HAVING

A friend is coming around to babysit/make dinner with DS1 while I go to choir practice - they're going to make something nice from one of the Roasting Tin books and then we'll all eat together when I get home from warbling the Messiah for an hour Smile

HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 24/02/2022 17:05

Pasta with salt pepper olive oil and tomato ketchup. Pay day isn't until Monday so I'm pretty much just eating what's left in the cupboard now until I can go shopping again. Plus side I have found a box of after eight mints I forgot I had

MustBeThursday · 24/02/2022 17:07

A pinch of nom recipe called campfire stew which was recommended to me. No idea what it'll be like, but it's been in the slow cooker for about 5 hours.

Girlintheframe · 24/02/2022 17:08

Quick tea tonight for Dh and myself. Stir fried beef

AtleastitsnotMonday · 24/02/2022 17:09

We are having tuna, lemon and horseradish fishcakes with apple slaw, beetroot salad and garlic flat breads.

Crunchymum · 24/02/2022 17:10

Kids are sharing a Pizza Express pizza and I'll bung some salad on the side to at least make it look slightly healthy.

I'm having jacket potato with Greek salad.

IsItTooHotInHere · 24/02/2022 17:11

chilli con carne, garlic bread, then chocolate muffins

TerrifiedandWorried · 24/02/2022 17:13

@mbosnz Thank you!

Emmacb82 · 24/02/2022 17:13

Salmon, jacket potato and salad here with sour cream and chive dip smothered over it 😋

RealRaymondReddington · 24/02/2022 17:14

For a nostalgic treat we are having scampi and chips with a side salad. I haven't had scampi for years so (sadly) I am quite excited for it.

WeaverofWords · 24/02/2022 17:14

I think gnocchi with tomato, sweet potato & roasted garlic sauce. Might add mozzarella & Parmesan. Thank you for soothing thread 🙏

Autumn101 · 24/02/2022 17:15

Homemade burgers with halloumi fries - DHs speciality. I’ll watch him cook with a bottle of Whispering Angel rose

PickAChew · 24/02/2022 17:16

[quote DataColour]Homemade dhal curry and saag paneer with rice. One of the kids favourites.
When I make beef curry I use the following recipe and it's really good.

Oh, I've saved that one. I love Ivor Peters' recipes.

I slow roasted some pork shoulder, yesterday, and have a little left, so I'm going to make a garlicky tomato sauce with peppers, mushrooms if the ones lurking in the fridge haven't gone slimy, and spinach. I shall probably ruin it by serving it with some red lentil pasta I've bought to try 😬

theotherfossilsister · 24/02/2022 17:18

Tesco spinach and ricotta pizza and a bag of salad leaves.

This is one of my favourite PoN recipes I've tried so far! Hope you enjoy :)

If the chicken I've got out the freezer ever defrosts, we'll be having chicken stuffed with peppers and cheese wrapped in bacon, with sweet potato wedges and whatever vegetables I find in the fridge/freezer!

I've got food envy. That sounds lovely. Might need a bedtime snack tonight...
Vampirethriller · 24/02/2022 17:20

A very 70s-looking salad with parsnip croquette, beetroot, hard boiled egg, tomatoes, cheese, apple and home made mayo.

Moonface123 · 24/02/2022 17:22

mumpower3 · 24/02/2022 17:22

I made my 3dc sausages and home made mash with gravy and heart shaped Yorkshires Grin then i put the mash into a "volcano" shape and the gravy spills out haha!

BitOutOfPractice · 24/02/2022 17:25

I've got some pork chops in the slow cooker with honey and garlic sauce. Having it with mash and broc. I felt the need for soothing mash. Wanted to get organised so I can watch the football with a beer.
