Dunno about anybody else, but food is my comfort zone, my happy place. So bugger off doom and gloom, tonight we have homemade beef curry and basmati rice, and a Yealands 2021 Reserve Sauvignon Blanc. The Sav' Blanc is for me.

Baked salmon with lime juice and butter, with stir fry vegetables. Avocado and a dollop of mayo.

Why yes, I am low carbing. 😬

AnneLovesGilbert · 24/02/2022 19:30

I made a lovely healthy veggie sausage casserole.

While it was cooking we ate blondies I made this afternoon and ice cream, we were all too full for casserole so we’ll have it now lunch tomorrow.

It's been a busy day (went shopping and then took DC ice skating) so I've just done hot dogs tonight. We're eating them in our pjs watching DD11 favourite YouTuber. We're got vienetta for pud.

I had my wisdom tooth extracted today so just ate mashed potato scrambled eggs and baked beans. It was actually quite delicious 😋

imadeitnice · 24/02/2022 19:44

IKEA chicken meatballs, mash and sweetcorn

NightOwl19 · 24/02/2022 19:45

@CrimeaChimera

what an excellent idea!

We are having roast ham with maple glaze, roast potatos, honey carrots, cauliflower and broccoli and then a tinned peaches meringue nest with clotted cream. I am considering making my own yorkshire puddings, but have never done it before so might skip it.

DS1 is having raw veg on the side instead of roasties (sensory issues). DS2 bless him will eat everything.

This sounds amazing

Home made veggie sauce with pasta and sausages

PhoboPhobia · 24/02/2022 19:56

I made macaroni cheese with bacon on top.

I’m trying to meal plan for shopping tomorrow so this is great timing. I’m getting lots of ideas!

maddiemookins16mum · 24/02/2022 20:18

I made meatballs out of sausages and did a spicy tomato/veg sauce with pasta twists. We had fresh cream apple turnovers for pudding (unusual for a weekday) that MIL got in Waitrose. Naughty but nice (even though I can feel the start of pastry indigestion starting 🙁).

badlydrawnbear · 24/02/2022 20:21

We had enchilada pie. It was meant to be tofu and mushroom curry today but I forgot to buy tofu.

Workinghardeveryday · 24/02/2022 20:23

I made a new recipe of tomato and bacon pasta bake with sausages. I didn’t have any because I needed to lie down for a bit (recovering from Covid still!) hope they all enjoyed it though - and left me a bit but doubt it ☹️

ThreeRingCircus · 24/02/2022 20:26

I baked meatballs in a marinara sauce with grated cheese on the top then when all hot and the cheese melted ate them in gryo flatbreads with salad. Messy but delicious!

Ohdofuckofdear · 24/02/2022 20:37

My DH is making homemade pizzas(they smell amazing) I'm having a couple of types of cheese, pineapple(I know there's hate for pineapple on pizza but I don't care because I love it)mushrooms and mixed peppers and I'm having tons of coleslaw on the side to dip the crusts in and washing it all down with rum and coke.

jay55 · 24/02/2022 21:08

I had a ginsters pasty, and it was lovely and comforting and took zero effort.

Worldwide2 · 24/02/2022 21:19

My DP lightly fried seabass served with fragranced rice and peas 😋 Delicious
Later il be opening the crisps and a chocolate egg I brought but have decided I can't wait until Easter to eat it lol

Cagedbirdsinging · 24/02/2022 22:51

I've prepped dinner for tomorrow - beefsteak and kidney stew with dumplings followed by bread and butter pudding . Proper rib-sticky food (it's February).

Deathraystare · 25/02/2022 07:17

Well, I planned to do a 3 minute nuke it macaroni Cheese but the blasted Sainsburys near me only had the must-cook-in-the-oven for 30 mins variety, damn them. Plus my flat mate who is in all day and never goes out had decided to cook his stuff just as I was coming through the door. Luckily he was quick.

God it was cold waiting at the bus stop last night. I just wanted to get in, nuke something and get on with things.

CrimeaChimera · 25/02/2022 07:52

I have just had a ham and rhubarb jam sandwich with last night's leftovers. DCs will have leftover ham in a spagetti carbonara for lunch.

Tonight I have chicken thighs and some garlic and herb philadelphia cheese so will have that with veg of some sort.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 25/02/2022 16:24

Cauliflower cheese with big jacket potatoes.

MotherofPearl · 25/02/2022 17:03

Tonight it will be takeout from a lovely Indian vegetarian restaurant that we've only recently discovered. I'm dreaming of the samosas, and the dhal in particular.

Bloodybridget · 25/02/2022 17:19

I got a bolognese sauce in the slow cooker and it's still on low. Every time I've come back home today I've enjoyed the smell of it cooking. Huge batch so should do the two of us three meals.

20viona · 25/02/2022 17:19

Pizza, salad, coleslaw and potato slices for us

MrsMigginsCat · 25/02/2022 17:22

Fish and chips because I've got COVID and am feeling really rotten.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 25/02/2022 17:25

I popped into Waitrose and they had loads of Charlie Bigham meals reduced so I bought a moussaka and I’ll make a greek salad

itsgettingweird · 25/02/2022 17:32

Yesterday ds and I had Chinese take out.

Today I dropped him at camp until Sunday.

This evening I'm having soup and crusty bread!
