FlightRadar24 - high traffic following invasion

Is anyone else monitoring the air traffic on FlightRadar24? There was an 8 minute wait to get on to the website!

Lots of military aircraft.

It’s also a way of concealing the ownership of the aircraft. From my 5 minutes on Google.

There's an Aeroflot flight from Hurghada which was supposed to be going to Mineralnye Vody and has been diverted to St Petersburg. That's over 2000 miles away.

I think the flight radar data might be corrupt…

It looks like the aircraft is in the descent to Mineralnye Vody right now..

Wonder if by any chance the next sector for the airframe is Mineralnye - Saint Petes’ ?

The Global Hawk has been out again last night looking at the coast near Crimea and Georgia

I just opened up FR to look at the Chinook that I saw from my patio window (didn't have its transponder on!)

Have noticed lots of activity in Poland and Romania though.

Definitely ramped up compared to previous days.

Most days I've only seen 5 or so planes out - today there is at least 10-15 across NATO, Polish Air Force and US Air Force.

Another interesting thing is that all of a sudden the space around the Polish border is very quiet when that was the area they were patrolling most before...

I'm about 30 mins from RAF Odiham by the way so not unusual to see a Chinook fly by here

We had one of the stratotankers pass over us a short while ago on its way back to Brize Norton.

What on earth do you think the Polish private aircraft over SPNTH in east Poland, north west of Lublin is doing? No info on it apart from private aircraft.

The other plane says polish Air Force academy so I'm guessing they both are.

I'd love to know what's going on. We'll only find out in years to come.

Not that unusual at all, Fairford has been a forward operating base for them for years.

I see the tweet Pesterpeston provided mentions these specific aircraft only arrived within the last week but there’s been a steady and frequent rotation of B-52s through Fairford since well before the invasion.

Here we go, from 15th Feb:

Lots of UK/USA military activity this eve at Rzeszow airport in Poland, close to Ukraine border. Globemaster 3 from Brize Norton landing, just as US G3 departing for Ramstein

Italian Lockheed’s in the area also

Keeps getting loud over Salisbury plain. Looks like they are practising refuelling.

There are 2 USAF F-15's circling above my house - it is so anxiety inducing i can't concentrate on my work! Doesn't help that they're so loud too.

Joking aside, yes they are loud. My parents live near their base. Incredible to watch. Just let yourself think of it as any other exercise they do.

Me too, I spotted this one flying over my house yesterday at about 13:20. It wasn't on the military tracker but was showing for a shirt period of time on Flightradar.

Just had one of the f15’s go over, too much cloud cover to see it unfortunately!
