FlightRadar24 - high traffic following invasion

Is anyone else monitoring the air traffic on FlightRadar24? There was an 8 minute wait to get on to the website!

Lots of military aircraft.

Read on the news there was some incident that had jets rushing to Baltic Sea last night. Did anyone see anything in tracker? I only seen the solo typhoon south of Bucharest.

LOADS of jets off wales/Scotland coast. I assume these are monitoring the boat situation after rejecting Russian vessels due to dock - seem to be monitoring the coastline.

There are always Jets around the Conwy Valley from RAF Valley on Anglesey

They're Hawks, which afaik are mainly training jets.

But there's 3 Typhoons coming in very close together over Lincolnshire which suddenly appeared (ie turned their transponders on) just off the coast.

There was activity last night not on Flightradar24 over Lincolnshire. Unfortunately it was pitch black and cloudy so I couldn't see what they were.
It happens a lot during training so used to it to be honest

Been quite a bit of action in my part of the world today - around about lunchtime there was a big aircraft circling and jets going overhead. I checked FlightRadar at the time and not a sausage so am presuming the USAF were off on operations rather than training as the tankers/transport aircraft are usually visible on FR.

Spotted several USAF tankers flying refuelling patterns over Eastern Europe too so safe to say “stuff” is happening.

There's a USAF Stratotanker and a Airbus A330 from the Netherlands currently on
refueling duty over Poland

I think it’s going to be tankers, various, over that part of the world 24/7 until this war has finished.

The fighter crews are going unnoticed but they must be doing some long long sorties…

There's been pretty constantly 1-3 tankers (USA or NATO I think I've spotted) since it began, often taking off from Mildenhall. However there are two doing the same circle currently, which I haven't spotted before.

Is that when they are flying in a big loop? Over and over? They're refuelling other smaller planes? I was wondering what that was!

@hopeishere yes, DH (ex RAF) calls it a “racetrack” pattern. Like this from earlier today
