If your child was eating their eighth apple today..

When would you tell them to stop?

It's just fresh apple, cut into pieces. They are a big fruit lover.

8 apples?! How is his stomach coping today?!

Bit strange but I don't think it's that bad, it's not going to cause any long term damage if it's just a one off. If he regularly gets obsessions like this though I might be off to see the child psychologist.

I'd be overjoyed if any of my (current, all adult size) DC ate 8 apples in one day.
Not so much when they were still 3yo, mind.

Actually my dentist says as long as my DC cleans his teeth properly and doesn't drink lots of fruit juice she'd prefer him to snack on fruit and veg over rubbish snacks.

Eating that number of apples could be a sign of diabetes.
@hibbledibble, it's really important that you get your blood sugar levels measured.
