Do you listen to the radio?

I never do. Wonder if I should.
If you do listen, which station do you listen to? How do you listen to it (what kind of device/app)?
What time do you listen? Any particular time of day and why?

Oh and I have just finished listening to every episode of Soul Music!

N0va · 14/02/2022 21:40

Only at home, if I can't decide what Spotify playlist then I use the phone app or firestick/tv to listen to Capital Xtra

marieantoinehairnet · 14/02/2022 21:54

Times Radio, Radio 4 and LBC here

I listen all day everyday, mostly a mix of BBC stations depending who's on - not a fan of commercial at all.
I have a radio/smart speaker in every room, DAB in the car, I listen on my phone with headphones if I'm out walking.
I like radio 4 programmes on the sounds app in bed.
Love love love radio, always have.

OP try bbc radio 2, no ads, mix of modern and old music.

HelloBunny · 14/02/2022 22:10

Yes. I hate the TV. Radio for me!

sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea · 14/02/2022 22:17

5Live if I'm listening live to a breaking story or sport. Other than that, endless, endless podcasts from BBC Sounds when I'm home alone. Or if I can't sleep, I listen to 5Live very quietly. The drone of background voices chases away the quiet.

On the odd occasion I have to listen to commercial radio I find adverts really jarring these days. I don't have a TV but pay the licence fee because the radio is my constant companion.

CailleachGranda · 14/02/2022 22:28

Radio 2 and switch to radio x when Jo Whiley is finished

Radio Scotland in the morning if Kaye Adams has a decent topic

cakeorwine · 14/02/2022 22:30

Radio 4 on the way to work if there's a big news story. Especially the 8.10 interview.

Or Classic FM.

Radio 2 occasionally for Pop Master and Jeremy Vine if DS is in the car.

No more Capital . Thank God.

Love Radio 4 on catch up. Comedies, More or Less, PM

cakeorwine · 14/02/2022 22:32

Has anyone admitted to listening to Steve Wright?

Who has been on since the Dark Ages...

CailleachGranda · 14/02/2022 22:37

Has anyone admitted to listening to Steve Wright?

I'm happy to own up. He's a pain but he plays good music

And he's much preferable to Sawa Cox

Branleuse · 14/02/2022 22:40

Yes lots. I quite like radio 4 in the car, but at home I listen to either absolute radio, radio 4 or radio 6.
Theres a brilliant website where you get radio stations from all over the world too which i love

IntermittentParps · 15/02/2022 07:31

Liking all the 6 Music fellow fans on here Smile
I love it, but they need to put Tom Ravenscroft on more. And get Shaun Keaveny back

Fetchthevet · 15/02/2022 07:36

Radio 2 - Ken Bruce, Jeremy Vine and the start of Steve Wright. I like to have the radio on in the background while I work from home. DC are home at about 3.30, then radio goes off.

RaininSummer · 15/02/2022 07:49

If at home it's radio 4 pre 9 am, radio 2 until 11 after quiz and absolute if still around until 6pm news on TV. Rarely in on a weekday however. Weekends are different with virgin radio in the morning, radio 2 on sat for pick of the pops and absolute otherwise. All off once I sit down for TV catch up.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 15/02/2022 07:49

Radio 2 all day on the echo dot. I like having background chat.

MrsJBaptiste · 15/02/2022 07:50

Radio 2 from 6.30am until we put the telly on at 8pm(ish) I have it on in the background while I'm working and God forbid if someone schedules a meeting for 10.30 - Popmaster time! 😠

Radio 1 on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons though and Spotify in the gym.

MrsDThomas · 15/02/2022 08:05

Radio 2 in the kitchen. Radio 2 at work, my day us set to the jingles - coffee time, lunch, coffee then its in the car.

Weekends is a mix of Magic and Smooth. I don’t like the weekend Radio 2 presenters.

MrsDThomas · 15/02/2022 08:07

@MrsJBaptiste oh it grates on me when someone uses the photocopier when popmaster is on. I cant hear the questions!

User48751490 · 15/02/2022 08:15

Classic FM when in kitchen cooking, especially on run up to Christmas. Via Alexa speaker.

Radio 4 podcasts through my phone at lunch times. Woman's Hour on Radio 4 from time to time.

dayswithaY · 15/02/2022 08:16

I couldn't live without radio! I mainly listen to BBC London - Vanessa Feltz ( she's very different on there to her R2 show), then Robert Elms until they inexplicably cut him down to three shows a week. Jeremy Vine from 12, then if I can't sleep at night I listen to lovely Jo Good on BBC London from 10pm.

These people are like friends to me - please don't judge me!

suckingonchillidogs · 15/02/2022 08:17

Greatest Hits for Simon Mayo and Mark Goodier. Radio 2 for Gary Davies on Friday evenings. If I try hard enough it IS still 1988!! Draw the line at Steve Wright though

MrsLargeEmbodied · 15/02/2022 08:18

radio on all the time at home, radio 2 - unless i dont like the presenter.
sometimes radio 4, in the car, on the web.

mewkins · 15/02/2022 08:21

6music all day every day. Only turned off when I have work calls.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 15/02/2022 08:22

also very much like More or Less and like PM,
enjoy Popmaster

quite often have to turn off Jeremy Vine

delilahbucket · 15/02/2022 08:22

A mixture of radio one and radio two at work, in the car, and in the kitchen via Google mini. I flit between the two depending on who is presenting. I like Greg James, Scott and Chris and Matt and Molly on radio one. I like Sarah Cox, Rylan and Liza Tarbuck on radio two. Don't mind Steve Wright either.
