Where do people dry their hair?!

I sit on the floor but have always aspired to having a dressing table! I am mid 50's and was just thinking, when you are 70 do you still sit on the floor drying your hair?!

It dries in whatever room I'm in.

AcceptCookies · 03/02/2022 00:10

Sitting on the bed. I dream of the day I might be able to see a mirror from this position! I'm sure it'll do wonders for the final result...! I'd stand up by the mirror, but my hair takes SO LONG to blow dry that I cannot be bothered with standing there that long.

NYnewstart · 03/02/2022 00:10

I had a dressing table for many years but prefer to sit on the edge of my bed.

Sitting on the bed in my spare room.

jusdevache · 03/02/2022 00:17

I just wrap it in a turban and hope I remember to take the turban off before I do the school runBlush

EmmaH2022 · 03/02/2022 00:18

Why the floor? I sit on the bed.

optimistic40 · 03/02/2022 00:19

I stand up in a forward fold to get some volume Grin When I'm 70, who knows?!

PickAChew · 03/02/2022 00:20

All over the house. I air dry it, mostly.

If I use a hairdryer, I stand in my bedroom. If my legs or hips hurt, 8 sit on a chair or my bed. Have never sat on the floor to do it.

GrumpyPanda · 03/02/2022 00:21

It dries wherever I happen to go about my business that day. Preferably not outside/in transit especially if I'm in a location with high pollution levels.

greenlynx · 03/02/2022 00:21

On the bed, sometimes on the floor, sometimes on a chair and sometimes just standing.

ErrolTheDragon · 03/02/2022 00:22

I sit on the bed, usually cross legged or 'butterfly' position, while reading, MNing or doing a sudoku or crossword. It's just drying not styling, so I don't use a mirror. If I couldn't use the bed I'd probably rather use the floor than sit on a chair... I'm 61 now and have every intention of still being able to sit on (and get up from!) the floor nine years hence.

Feather12 · 03/02/2022 00:23

Sometimes bed, sometimes floor. I set up a dressing table when I comandeered the spare room. It is right in front of the window so the light is great, however I rarely use it, frequently applying my make up with a tiny mirror at my desk at work 😂

breakdown19 · 03/02/2022 00:24

Bed. Have to crane to see in the mirror
Can't really spring to a dressing table space wise in bedroom but I should prob find a better way of positioning hairdryer with a mirror

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/02/2022 00:27

I stand in front of the full-length mirror in the bedroom.

RomComPhooey · 03/02/2022 00:27

Mostly air dry. My hairdryer is still plugged in by our hall table from pre-pandemic as it was the last thing I did before l left the house, if I had time. Now I’m WFH I barely use it.

ihaveonecat · 03/02/2022 00:29

Living room, I sit on the sofa. Use a diffuser so dry it upside down for 45 minutes

tabulahrasa · 03/02/2022 00:30

I sit on my bed or if I’m working early and no-one else is awake yet on the couch.

I only need a mirror to check at certain stages though, so I just get up and go look in one.

WelliesWithHeels · 03/02/2022 00:35

I stand in front of the counter in my dressing room bathroom. I have two dressing tables but for some reason I only use them for doing my makeup. It's completely silly, but for some reason I feel like I need a bigger range of motion for blow drying my hair that I can't get while sitting!

Brett239 · 03/02/2022 00:41

American here and I always thought it was so strange you can't dry your hair in the bathroom!! Why no power outlets?

Because our voltage is twice yours!
Peachandpearl · 03/02/2022 00:51

I pace up and down, tip my head upside down and sideways, I have ADHD maybe that's why. I have a dressing table to do makeup, then do my hair after and just need to get moving. I don't need a mirror to blow dry my hair though. I go on feel

PrettyBluebells · 03/02/2022 00:55

I've never sat on the floor to dry my hair, I just wouldn't be able to sort my angles right, I can't even sit down to do it, lol. I stand beside my bed.

DoTheyKnowItsLemonJuice · 03/02/2022 01:00

I stand in front of a full-length mirror. That’s where I do my make-up as well.

It wouldn’t occur to me to get down on the floor to dry my hair — that would feel like an odd thing to do in this particular bedroom. I guess it depends on your room size/layout though.

LancaLass · 03/02/2022 01:06

This has made me laugh! Don't bother much with dryer but if I do its down in the "lobby" basically the part of the house which is the entrance but only place with full length mirror
