Where do people dry their hair?!

I sit on the floor but have always aspired to having a dressing table! I am mid 50's and was just thinking, when you are 70 do you still sit on the floor drying your hair?!

In bed. I wrap it a tshirt and towel and sleep on it. If I blow dry it it just goes bouffant and frizzy.

SeasonFinale · 03/02/2022 01:19

I stand up

lomoloko · 03/02/2022 01:23

I dry it on my head

I'm in Australia so dry it in my bathroom.

When l lived in the UK I stopped using my hairdryer as there was nowhere I could use it with everyone else asleep apart from downstairs with no mirror.

I'm 39 and well past sitting on the floor to dry hair and apply make up! I have an ikea malm dressing table (£75) and A large freestanding light up mirror that sits on top. (About £80 from Amazon) Two plug sockets underneath and a small stool. I use it everyday and get more use out if it than anything else in the house I think!

Norgie · 03/02/2022 07:18

In my bathroom.

IsDaveThere · 03/02/2022 08:42

In the spare bedroom, which has a desk that doubles as a dressing table. If the cat is asleep on the chair in there and I don't want to disturb him, I sit on my bed. I have never sat on the floor to do it.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 03/02/2022 08:44

On the bed with a mirror propped against the headboard.

JorisBonson · 03/02/2022 08:46

My dressing table, where I feel like I spend half my life.

OddSocksSparklyDocsandDungaree · 03/02/2022 08:47

Stood up, in the kitchen, using the microwave door as a mirror Grin

In the lounge with the tv and subtitles on…

In front of the bathroom mirror.

MrsToadflax · 03/02/2022 08:53

My dressing table!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 03/02/2022 08:55

I can never BA to dry my hair straight away - I let it dry a bit on its own, and the dryer is usually in the dining room, where I sit with the paper. So after a coffee or two and the codeword I finish it off standing up.

MsSquiz · 03/02/2022 09:01

I have a walk in wardrobe with a dressing table in it and my hairdryer hangs on the side of wardrobe so I sit in there.

Unless DH is asleep, then I go into the spare room and sit on the floor, behind the door where the mirror is on the wall

ufucoffee · 03/02/2022 09:02

I've never sat on the floor. I stand up.

Topseyt · 03/02/2022 09:05

On my head! Can't be arsed with hairdryers so I just brush it and leave it. Half an hour or so later I brush it again and that's it.

I use a kitchen appliance too! My oven is my mirror while I sit on the floor. That's only when I plan on straightening though, so very rare now as I just let it air dry for curls.
ExtremelyDelighted · 03/02/2022 09:10

On the very rare occasions I use a hairdryer or straighteners, sit on the edge of my bed with a freestanding mirror on the windowsill in front of me. Usually just towelling turban and air dry though.

Me too!!
SickAndTiredAgain · 03/02/2022 09:14

I sit on the bed, and from there I can see the full length mirror we have on the wall.

BaggingTheWainwrights · 03/02/2022 09:17

On the landing outside my bedroom. It's the nearest free plug socket and we have a big mirror on the landing to reflect light.

EileenGC · 03/02/2022 09:17

In front of the mirror in my bathroom. I’m in continental Europe and it’s the same voltage as in the UK!

tallullabluebella · 03/02/2022 09:18

I'm 40 and sit cross legged on the living room floor! Pull a mirror out from behind a chair for both hair and make up, it's the place with best natural light.
