Sue Gray report but also the u-turn on NHS vaccinations - and he'll be hoping that the change in policy on mandatory vaccinations is a big enough story to detract from the tiny, weeny little matter of him and his pals pissing it up and having parties while telling the rest of the country they couldn't hug their mum.

That's my best guess. No coincidence that vaccine announcement is being rumoured to be released on the same day as Sue Gray info.

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 31/01/2022 13:53

He won't resign. Even if the report uncovered that he personally organised all the piss up, then danced naked on the cabinet table, while singing the national anthem. Because resigning requires a least a shred of decency and he doesn't have any. He'll only go when he's thrown out and even then, only after he's tried every trick in the book to avoid it.

EastYorksLass · 31/01/2022 13:53

Only thing I am sure of is that he will never resign - he will be going on TV to tell us more bullshit about the parties that were not parties cos he got ambushed by a cake ....... so sick of him and his Tory boys.

SockFluffInTheBath · 31/01/2022 13:54

To say the whitewash says he did nothing wrong so leave him alone? To say he has solved Covid so nhs staff no longer need have? It will be anything but the simple truth.

daisiesonmydress · 31/01/2022 13:55

Couldn't mark his neck with a blow torch

GiantHaystacks2021 · 31/01/2022 13:56

He's going to be PM for ever and ever and ever and ever.

It's interesting and alarming to watch Britain's descent into fascism.

SamphiretheStickerist · 31/01/2022 14:05

@SickAndTiredAgain

It’s just some nonsense on Sue Gray’s update, which apparently isn’t the full report and only looks at the culture in Downing Street and not the parties.
It can't be the full report as the Met have asked for a lot to be redacted until they have completed their criminal investigation.
ClawedButler · 31/01/2022 14:06

Perhaps he's announcing a national piss shortage because his government have taken it all.

@ArseInTheCoOpWindow

Will he brush his hair?
He does this on purpose. To appear like a likeable "naughty" guy.

I cant even watch him talk anymore, he makes me sick...

campion · 31/01/2022 14:08

That's spot on on your first point
@GiantHaystacks2021 as he'll never let go, and worryingly near the truth on your second.

Adatwistscientist · 31/01/2022 14:09

Boris will never resign, even if he thought he should he'd prefer to be ousted in a huge fuss than go quietly because he wants to be remembered, at all costs.

Wheresthebeach · 31/01/2022 14:12

I suspect it will be blah blah excuses, no wrong doing, blah blah - here is the list of scapegoats that have resigned today.

LovelyBitOfSquirrelInTheWirral · 31/01/2022 14:13

@ArseInTheCoOpWindow

Will he brush his hair?
Of course not. It’s one of his biggest distraction techniques. Look at the hair look at the hair look at the hair……don’t listen to the waffle, drivel and piffle.
ClawedButler · 31/01/2022 14:14

He won't resign, will he. And yes, even though the other "options" are respectively ruthless, heartless, bloodless, spineless and clueless, getting him out does send a message that the populace are at their limit of how much lying they will take.

Frankly, being asked to choose any candidate for PM out of this current shower is like being asked which shade and consistency of diarrhoea you want to dunk your face in. It makes me so furious that the electoral process is not fit for purpose - the elected politicians are all about party politics (i.e. point-scoring) and not about representing the people.

It'll be bumble-bumble I know I let you down but I'm a good egg bumble-bumble I want to draw a line under this and get on with the things that matter to you bumble-bumble aren't I amusing with my funny hair can you all stop hating me because the veil slipped and revealed that I think rules are for little people but don't apply to me and my mates bumble-bumble if this goes on any longer you might start asking questions about whether I take the same unprincipled approach to things like national security, tax dodging and brexit bumble-bumble can you all go back to being stupid little flag-waving plebs bumble-bumble

I'm sure it will work for lots of people, and actually the best hope of getting the Tories out at the next election might be letting him hang on like a piss-soaked towel that is slowly smelling ranker and ranker.

"The investigation commissioned by me about me finds me not guilty of any wrong doing. No questions"

Mischance · 31/01/2022 14:18

To bluff and bluster and justify himself. Prepare for a lot of hot air.

Eve · 31/01/2022 14:19

to ask for Christian forgiveness!

Zilla1 · 31/01/2022 14:24

@Awwlookatmybabyspider, come on. There's a stable of top notch talent. Gove, Raab, Grayling, Truss, Coffey, Javid, Eustice, Dorries, Patel, Sunak and back benchers like Davis, Redwood... Government of all the talents. The PM must look around the table and think 'Oh my..... such brilliance'.

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 31/01/2022 14:26

@Eve

to ask for Christian forgiveness!
I've just posted about this on another thread. This would be awesome if he were asking for this. My other post explains why:

'I'm so pleased to see that Gove is calling for 'Christian forgiveness' over partygate. As a Christian I think this is absolutely the right path for the government and country to take. I think we should all get behind him on this.

Thing is in Christianity forgiveness isn't the get out of jail free card some people think it is. It has 3 very clear steps, which everyone will be familiar with even if they don't know it.

The first step to forgiveness is confession. You have to admit honestly and fully what you've done wrong. Making excuses, minimising or hiding behind redacted reports won't cut the mustard.

Second step is repentence. This means showing genuine remorse for your wrong doing and demonstrating that by turning away from the bad behaviour and going in a different direction. Showing through your own actions that you have changed, not by sacking others and using them as you whipping boy.

The third step is then forgiveness and follows on from the other two. Without the first two there can be no 'Christian forgiveness'

So yeah, confess, repent, forgiveness is good. Over to you De Spaffle ...'

Nailed it.

And he has decades and decades of track record for saying whatever he needs to say to get out of the immediate situation, never minding the fall out. Because the fallout is tomorrow's problem. Which he will deal with, when it comes, with another glib expedient mouth fart.

Am....am I coming across a bit anti-Boris? Grin

justasking111 · 31/01/2022 14:28

He always runs late so that time is a guesstimate. It'll be about the diluted, redacted report

Zilla1 · 31/01/2022 14:30

Don't forget the fulsome non-apology. I'm sorry for all those who felt .... let down/disappointed/angry....
