@Gardengates

Oh dear *@Poodles23*

I think you wanted a name change there.

Are you Boris?

What an appropriate username!

One of the Red Wall Thickos Tories has put forward the analogy of breaking covid rules being akin to parking offences.

Where have we heard that line being trotted out before?🤷‍♀️

Sorry, posted this on the wrong thread!

He cancelled a planned call with Putin to make his statement in Parliament and now Putin won't reschedule it. Johnson's bloody parties are now interfering with diplomatic attempts to avoid war in Europe FFS!

GreenLunchBox · 01/02/2022 22:30

Can someone please tell me what the May elections are for?
I don't understand. There's no GE so why do we have May elections?

@SamphiretheStickerist

How dare LH try to make IB say inadvertently when we all know that would be a lie?

Because it is basic tenet of the House. You don't call anyone a liar and if you do the meeting is cloised. He explained it all, repeteatedly, at the time. "Just say 'inadvertently' and we can continue this much needed discussion. Don't force me to have you removed and the debate closed"

It's not that he supports Johnson, just that this is one of the non negotiable rules of the House. It is there to protect Members from various legal allegations, to ensure freedom of speech etc .

IB could have said "apparently inadvertently" and that would have been enough... and he, like all other MPs, know that!

I know that. I still think it was shocking to see it in action and underlines what a ridiculous rule it is. I was horrified on the behalf of Dawn Butler when it happened to her but it seemed even more shocking this time.
DebHagland · 01/02/2022 23:36

Boris has now done a runner to the Ukraine, not because he cares about the Ukrainian people, but because it makes him look slightly better, also he is a helluva lot more popular over there than he is here. They don't know what a lying scum bag he is.

DebHagland · 01/02/2022 23:47

Boris does have principles.........his principle is simple......"Put Boris first, F**K everyone else"

Stolengoat · 02/02/2022 07:07

All MPs are the same, that's how they get there.

Zonder · 02/02/2022 07:40

@Stolengoat

All MPs are the same, that's how they get there.
That's a ridiculous and lazy generalisation. There are many fine MPs and it is not how they got there.

I don’t think you can really lump Joanna Cherry in with, say, Desmond Swayne.
Zonder · 02/02/2022 07:48

Exactly @SpinningTheSeedsOfLove there are some terrible MPs and some who do an amazing job in a really tough situation.

To be fair, there are a few naive ones who really do seem to be in it for the right reasons, but they never seem to last long, just a term or two, and then they must realise the reality of the whole sorry set up and give up, completely demoralised by it all, usually never to appear in public life again.

Finally got my reply from the speakers office! Was the same but signed by a different bot.

Given the amount of time it's taken between replies, and how long it takes to cut and paste a reply, I dread to think how many emails they got!

Francescaisstressed · 02/02/2022 12:31

Pmqs today, Boris looks like the cat who go t the cream, knowing he's getting away with it.

longwayoff · 02/02/2022 12:45

Is Priti Patel having a conversation with herself at PMQs or has she got an earpiece? She looked deranged chattering through Bozo's replies.

Me too. Hopefully the extra work will have some impact on discussions behind the scenes!!

Thinking he's getting away with it. He lies to himself as much as to others.
DePfeffoff · 02/02/2022 19:06

It is truly scary that Johnson is out there playing with Ukrainian lives to try to save his own skin. There really cannot be any point in him talking to foreign leaders, can there? Why would any of them believe a word he says?
