Another Bloody Downing Street party

JustJam4Tea · 10/01/2022 21:51

So hours after telling us to only meet one other person outside from a different household 100 invited to Downing Street BYO in the garden.

It was unlawful to mix outside. If my employer had invited 100 staff to a garden party we’d have all been arrested.

Hypocrites

And before anyone comes along and says move on, it’s not important, it fuckin is!!

How many people were arrested and hassled bu police for being in a park and Downing St was having a piss up!

Postdatedpandemic · 10/01/2022 21:58

E-mails about garden drinks, photos of garden parties, security footage of ministers groping people...10 Downing Street leaks like a sieve. Presumably they do nothing of importance to national security there.

ancientgran · 10/01/2022 22:00

I'm thinking back to then and how lonely it was. I was on my own as a carer with disabled DH, my children have all moved away, well they went to uni and didn't come back as got jobs in uni city. I've been annoyed/angry with the other revelations but now I just feel an overwhelming sense of loss and despair at what we went through while they were partying.

I can't imagine how people who lost loved ones must feel. Remember the boy who died alone in hospital as his parents couldn't visit.

I could cry.

This pretty much sums up this government though.

Who knows what else they’ve done.

And this is their general attitude. They say the right things but do the wrong things.

Wankers.

What do you expect a proven liar to do? Yes, of course he's lied,he's a liar. You get what you vote for. Unfortunately, so do the rest of us.

Again,he's a liar,he tells lies. Of course he does.

ancientgran · 10/01/2022 22:02

I'm just thinking how exciting it was to speak to the Sainsbury's delivery man for a couple of minutes every week. We followed the rules, we did what we were asked.

Howshouldibehave · 10/01/2022 22:02

Some students were fined hundreds of pounds for doing exactly what they did, only they weren’t fortunate enough to have police at the door protecting the party goers by lying about it.

It isn't just him though is it.

On the positive side I read that 100 were invited and between 30 and 40 attended so the majority of staff at No 10 must have realised it was wrong and did the right thing. That is something to hang on to.

What is it actually going to take to get some accountability. BJ could shoot someone on camera and we'd still let him get away with it. Where is the so called cancel culture we keep hearing about?! Why are the Tories immune?!

I'd quite like to see the party organisers fined the same percentage of their income as the students were

It won't work like that, it'll be the same amount if they do get fined. But I wish it were different

I was just thinking the same. What can we do? How do we say enough is enough this has to stop. Are there any Tory party members who will stand up now and hold them to account?
TheFairyCaravan · 10/01/2022 22:09

I’m furious.

At that time I was lying awake most nights because I was worried sick about DS2, who was working right on the front line as an A&E nurse. He didn’t have the correct PPE and some of the PPE they did have was having to be shared. Sometimes he’d ring me, in tears, in the middle of the night because he was seeing such awful things.

He and his girlfriend had to move out of her parents’ house because her Dad is CEV. Their friends moved in with their parents so DS2 and DDIL could have their house for months.

I didn’t see either of them for 7 months. DS1 was stuck in his room in barracks for weeks until we were allowed to bubble up. Not one fucker in the Govt was worried about the mental health of the nation. They were treating us with such contempt it’s disgusting. It’s about time they all resigned.

ohfourfoxache · 10/01/2022 22:12

Ismail Mohamed Abdulwahab was a 13 year old child

He died - alone - in hospital. Probably terrified, probably in pain and undoubtedly suffering

His own parents were not allowed to sit at his deathbed as he passed

And these UTTER CUNTS were having fucking drinks??? When thousands were dying, alone, in hospitals and care homes and in their own homes??

History has it’s eyes on our “leaders”. Disgraceful, evil cuntweasels Angry

They're immune because unfortunately there is no real competition.

I think that people who got fined last year for the same type of thing should get their money back unless they fine the rule breakers.

What they said.

I’m literally incandescent with rage.

Wheresmywoolyjumpers · 10/01/2022 22:14

Spent a few months of the last year of my mothers life speaking to her through a window from her garden. When we were allowed to bubble spent more months nursing her as Covid meant other services were incredibly disrupted and she could not be given the carers she was entitled to. I was sobbing with fatigue. They were having fucking wine in the garden. It is beyond disgusting.

Akire · 10/01/2022 22:18

It’s beyond how are they still investigating? Murders have been solved quicker. I’m Disabled had no one bubble up with and had no human contact or touch for 6.5months. Still don’t feel quite the same. But we all did it “all in it together” what a mug

Poetrypatty · 10/01/2022 22:19

It's an absolute pisstake of the whole country it really is. Imagine if we had known that was happening back then. We would have hardly believed it at the time, given all of the rules we had to comply with. Remember those friends in trouble with the police because they had an outdoor coffee and walk together.

Poetrypatty · 10/01/2022 22:20

It's a joke that the PM ordered an investigation into the Downing Street parties but was at this big party. He takes us for fools.

ohfourfoxache · 10/01/2022 22:21

It’s beyond a pisstake

A pisstake feels like something that is fundamentally wrong but a bit cheeky, comparatively minor

This feels huge

SmellyOldOwls · 10/01/2022 22:21

How the fuck do we get these cunts out??

nether · 10/01/2022 22:21

I haveva CEV person in the household.

On 20 May 2020, they were still under the advice to stay at home and not even go out for daily exercise. And the rest of us did much the same, in solidarity and to minimise the chances of bringing it home.

What happened to leadership by example?

Where did the tradition of 'serve to lead' go?

Is there any way to get it back?

user5656555 · 10/01/2022 22:22

Depressingly true.

My son is a nurse as well, he did get covid but thankfully he was OK but I was so worried as he was 200 miles away and I couldn't see him. Well I suppose I couldn't have seen him if he lived round the corner because there were rules weren't there.

Johnson must be laughing his head off at what mugs we all were.

Muststopeating · 10/01/2022 22:24

I have always been of the 'well they are all the same opinion' but after this abhorrent shower of shits I will never EVER vote Tory.

Its the fact that they just keep getting away with it. People are furious but don't know what to do. And then a huge amount of people don't seem to care.

I don't say this lightly but it is a crying shame that COVID went easy on Boris!
