Another Bloody Downing Street party

JustJam4Tea · 10/01/2022 21:51

So hours after telling us to only meet one other person outside from a different household 100 invited to Downing Street BYO in the garden.

It was unlawful to mix outside. If my employer had invited 100 staff to a garden party we’d have all been arrested.

And just in case you're reading, Rishi, mitigations like masks and HEPA filters and corsi-rosenthal boxes will help the economy. Less staff sickness including long term Long Covid. A boost for the mask making, fan, and filter manufacturing industries too. So a win win for the economy all round.

forcedfun · 11/01/2022 00:03

It's revolting. I know so many people who are still traumatised from the isolation, let alone those who lost loved ones or are still suffering ill health.

Our children couldn't meet up and play with their friends. They couldn't have parties in gardens.

So many people endured so much. Meanwhile Boris and chums carried on partying.

forcedfun · 11/01/2022 00:06

Agreed @BurnDownTheDiscoHangTheDJ ... And any government that was prepared to illegally prorogue parliament was going to equally happy to party through a pandemic

NotABeliever · 11/01/2022 00:15

Isn't there plenty of police at all times at Downing Street? What we're they doing while 30+ people were having booze in the garden to make the most of the nice weather?

13yearslater · 11/01/2022 00:25

I feel sorry for Boris because he's stupid.

It must feel pretty dismal being told to come out with lots of untrue things he didn't google (to make sure they were right,) then suddenly waking up one day and finding yourself Prime Minister!

And then you suddenly have two babies to deal with by a woman with lots of teeth you barely know and a pandemic on your hands. Awful. How is he meant to know what to do when he's got a red wall to face that he's probably confused with the Wall Game which is just a lot of pushing and shoving and drinks with Beaks afterwards?

And because he's stupid, he probably doesn't realize that lots of cleverer-than-him types who went to rival public schools that lost to Eton at cricket and rugby, or pals who lost to him at Fives, are now
ganged up on him and making him look silly.

If I was Boris I would have a BIG go and Mr Starmer of the opposition benches and ask him why he's not admitting that he KNEW about the Drink Spotty that day but sat on it. What a weakling.

There are lots of Met police in & around Downing Street. With any luck we might get rid of Johnson & Dick when this whole story comes out.
DerAlteMann · 11/01/2022 00:32

@SmellyOldOwls

How the fuck do we get these cunts out??
Getting an electable opposition might be a good start.
SeaWitchly · 11/01/2022 04:17

The only thing I am surprised at is that Johnson and the Tories are being caught out. Otherwise anyone who believed they have ever possessed an ounce of integrity and decency is a fool. You only had to do [minimal] research on Johnson's past misdemeanours to see how his time as prime minister would pan out.
It's just a pity that the rest of us have had to live with Tory voters stupidity.

Billlius · 11/01/2022 05:27

This is not the Conservative Party any more but a mashup of The Brexit Party and UKIP.

CovidCorvid · 11/01/2022 06:29

The reason they’re being caught out is because boris sacked Cummings. Can’t believe boris is so stupid he didn’t see that this would happen. I imagine there’s even more dirt to come.

loveablequalities · 11/01/2022 06:53

The opposition are unelectable, are they? all politicians are the same, are they?

Does Keir Starmer have to be made of fucking chocolate? By what possible measure is he not as good as BJ? Not all politicians would behave as BJ has done. That is just completely and utterly untrue and I have no patience with that attitude. That's what Johnson relies on people thinking: might as well have him because there isn't anyone better. You could choose anyone else in the country and they would be more competent than the current PM. There are few people in politics who show this level of contempt for their electorate.

FrecklesMalone · 11/01/2022 06:55

To think 100 people were invited and not one of the cunts exposed BJ until now says all you need to know about who the government are and who work for them.

the80sweregreat · 11/01/2022 06:59

It is awful , but there is also a photo of Sir Keir Starmer (on social media ) at a do in someone's home too at around the same time. Not sure of the exact details though or if it was after some restrictions were starting to lift a bit ?
Nothing like these ' byob' parties, but I'm sure someone will wheel it out.
Makes me think that they are either all utterly stupid or just didn't care because it was outside and they all worked together anyway ?
Not condoning the behavior at that time. It is bad, but why didn't someone just say no to it all or call it out ? It was against the rules at that time.
Most people I know were sticking to all the rules , my elderly dad died of covid in may 2020 in hospital ( he was in a care home ) and we couldn't even go and see him :(
Same as so many others too.

AuntieStella · 11/01/2022 07:02

The opposition are currentlymunelectabke because they haven't shown us what policies they have.

What would they domabout the looming energy crisis and the inevitable increase in interest rates that follow?

Will inflation be allowed to rise further to erode the national debt? How will he sell that to a nation with considerable personal debt?

Will they restore the overseas aid budget?

LolaLouLou · 11/01/2022 07:04

So whilst the government was putting the fear of God in us about leaving the house, they were throwing parties.

So much time lost with family and friends, so many family events cancelled. So many births and deaths without family present and they were throwing parties.

No.wonder Johnson protected Cummings over the Bernard Castle incident. He had just thrown a fucking party.

I didn’t know that. Interesting that the main stream media aren’t running it. Because I’d have thought if it was true and proveable they would as their hate Starmer. Hope it’s not an old pre covid photo being wheeled around trying to smear him?

This isn't about the opposition. This is about Johnson laughing at the electorate and taking us for fools.
sweetheartyparty · 11/01/2022 07:07

I completely agree @loveablequalities

SylviaTrench · 11/01/2022 07:08

I know that they might think that we're all plebs, and that the rules only apply to us and not them, but how could they see the Queen sitting by herself at her husband's funeral and not feel ashamed?

AuntieStella · 11/01/2022 07:09

My apologies for not meeting clarity standards.

I was replying to @loveablequalities post, which began with thebquestion
