Another Bloody Downing Street party

JustJam4Tea · 10/01/2022 21:51

So hours after telling us to only meet one other person outside from a different household 100 invited to Downing Street BYO in the garden.

It was unlawful to mix outside. If my employer had invited 100 staff to a garden party we’d have all been arrested.

I don't think he is laughing. I think he feels utter contempt for anyone not in his privileged circle. As do the rest of his cronies.

ancientgran · 10/01/2022 22:26

@SmellyOldOwls

How the fuck do we get these cunts out??
I'd love to know. There is that petition about Blair and his knighthood. Could we start one about Johnson? I know it won't get us anywhere but I want them to know that people are angry and when they say people aren't interested I'd like them to see that they are wrong.

Maybe there is a petition, does anyone know?

Kendodd · 10/01/2022 22:26

Johnson told a massive pack of lies about Brexit in 2016 and learnt how well lying works out for him.
He lies in parliament.
He lied in the 2019 election.
He lies about parties.
He lies about his flat.
He lies about his holiday.
People who voted for him in 2019 (and 2016) were stupid if they couldn't see what a liar Johnson was and if they could see his lies and didn't care then they are beneath contempt and have dragged the country down to their level.

The lying is working out great for Johnson though.

OrangeShark27 · 10/01/2022 22:29

Just to be clear at this point single adults living alone could not bubble up with someone. We could only go for a walk with one other person outside.

I am so angry. When I think of all the threads on here of people who were so lonely and struggling. When I think of how much I missed my parents, my friends. All the people who died alone

It makes you feel like a fool, following the instructions of a leader who was clearly taking the piss out of everyone behind their backs

And a bloody work party? The most pointless of all social occasions.

ColleysMill · 10/01/2022 22:30

I'm reminded of that great Jack Sparrow quote.... "you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest "

Kendodd · 10/01/2022 22:31

well they are all the same opinion
They're not though.
Politicians, of all colours, never used to lie like this.
The worse this is, other politicians are watching this. They've learnt that they can lie as much as they like and the public will still vote for them. Johnson and Co have poisoned politics and its 100% the fault of the public for letting them.

GreenLunchBox · 10/01/2022 22:34

He was trying not to laugh when the reporter questioned himAngry

Kendodd · 10/01/2022 22:39

They're immune because unfortunately there is no real competition.
What a load of bollocks.

JustJam4Tea · 10/01/2022 22:40

Think they’ll get away with it, fatigue on most people’s part. But Downing Street is leaking so badly something else will come out that is worse.

My favourite uncle died alone in hospital an awful death from a bowel obstruction last may; his family were not allowed to return to the hospital to be with him... while Johnson was allowing staff to party.

I hate Johnson. He's a liar, and has made many unforgivable sexist, racist, classist & homophobic statements.

One of many things that angers me is the way Johnson is at some level involved with the very deeply nasty Putin.
Interesting how the Russia report into Russian involvement in Brexit has been suppressed permanently.
How Putin's friend Lebedev has a son who was made a Lord and therefore sits in the House of Lords affecting our Laws.
How Putin's friends have given 100s of 1000s in donations to the Tory party...

I wouldn't trust Boris Johnson the Liar to run a bath let alone this country!

Frazzled2207 · 10/01/2022 22:46

Its seems a whole step up form the other parties
Zoom parties
Cheese and wine parties supposedly discussing work
Christmas parties where he wasn’t actually there

Now a 100 people invited to a party and he was there! Didn’t even try and disguise it as a work meeting.

This happened days before he barnard castle fiasco. No wonder they had to defend Cummings. If they hadn’t then he prob would have gone rogue there and then.

DinosApple · 10/01/2022 22:53

We had maybe 12 people at MIL's funeral and couldn't gather to celebrate her life afterwards. That was May 2020 for us.

LadyWithLapdog · 10/01/2022 22:57

The nasty party.

Houseplantmad · 10/01/2022 22:59

"He was trying not to laugh when the reporter questioned him"

^ this.

He didn't even have the decency to pretend it mattered. All he could do was smirk and laugh when questioned on camera. He didn't even squirm uncomfortably.

summertimerolls · 10/01/2022 23:01

Wonder which minister will get the honour of the morning media round tomorrow...

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 10/01/2022 23:02

My dad died in September 2020. He'd gone into hospital in August then had to go in a care home where he could only have one visitor. In may I wasn't seeing him only a couple of times at the window because he lives in a different city to me. He barely saw my DD before he died. Yet these wastes of space were having parties in the garden.

Frazzled2207 · 10/01/2022 23:03

Emma Barnett is having an excellent go at a Tory mp on newsnight right now

Suspect no cabinet member will offer themselves up for the media tomorrow am. Same as the morning after the allergra Stratton video.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 10/01/2022 23:04

They despise the public. They're laughing at each and every one of us. We're nothing to them, literally nothing.

This is what their education does to them.

Nat6999 · 10/01/2022 23:04

Makes you wonder why we bothered to stick to the rules & if that is why he is holding back from bringing them back now. If he had any humility he would resign now.

SmellyOldOwls · 10/01/2022 23:04

'I don't say this lightly but it is a crying shame that COVID went easy on Boris!'

I know. To think I actually cared what happened to him when he was sick.

summertimerolls · 10/01/2022 23:05

Yes just seen that. Defences were starting to come up even from a non cabinet member. If someone is brave enough to go on (Shapps is my guess) he/she will just do an endless repetition of "Sue Gray is investigating blah blah"

BellaChagall · 10/01/2022 23:06

I'm incredibly upset about this. Regardless of their politics I like to believe that our leaders from any party have some sort of integrity. My personal circumstances because of the pandemic have been an utter shit show but I've dealt with it because I thought we were all in it together. I wish I felt angry but I just feel let down.

CovidCorvid · 10/01/2022 23:08

I saw a clip of boris being asked about this earlier. He dodged the question and smirked while he said it was a matter for the ongoing investigation. It was a simple “were you there or not” question. So I’m assuming he was there or he would have said no!

MadeForThis · 10/01/2022 23:13

I'm waiting to see what comes out next. Whoever is leaking these things started small and now is directly implicating Boris. What's next?

Blinkingbatshit · 10/01/2022 23:13

How much more do you reckon Cummings has up his sleeve?! Each bombshell he must be astounded that Boris sticks….so am I to be fair🙈. Christ alive, this government wouldn’t know integrity if it hit them between the eyes….it’s utterly embarrassing and totally infuriating. Boris needs to go, really doesn’t matter who replaces him at this point - their days are numbered, people can only take so much before any alternative is preferable!!!
