Another Bloody Downing Street party

JustJam4Tea · 10/01/2022 21:51

So hours after telling us to only meet one other person outside from a different household 100 invited to Downing Street BYO in the garden.

It was unlawful to mix outside. If my employer had invited 100 staff to a garden party we’d have all been arrested.

Boris has been well-known for lying for years. The Tories have shown contempt for how the majority of rest of the population live for years.
People don't care. All this will be forgotten about by the next election. The right-wing press will take a photo of Keir Starmer eating a donut the wrong way or something and the Tories will win again.

MarshaBradyo · 11/01/2022 08:09

If it is just Cummings then we’re all being led on this by him, and his ‘revenge’ - he’s as much a weasel

Tealightsandd · 11/01/2022 08:11

BluebellsGreenbells
It wouldn't surprise me if things are being leaked deliberately to make people think "fuck it I'm no longer following the rules" to try and bring the pandemic to a close

That's absolutely it. Hancock being replaced by Javid - with the consequent 100s a week being killed and many more disabled, round two.

Once they've got rid of Boris, 300 deaths a day and huge numbers of Long Covid disabled (and therefore joining The Vulnerable group) will be reported as a stable 'low'.

It's already started. London's reported cases are artifically low due to test shortages falling and hospitals are 'coping' despite the military being needed to help in London hospitals.

Tealightsandd · 11/01/2022 08:12

Separately if they wanted to keep the economy going and people to 'live with' a new possibly not wholly natural disease that kills and disables many, they'd want to listen to the science and keep easy infection control measures. Masks, vaccine passes, and good ventilation including HEPA filters or corsi-rosenthal boxes.

A win win - because it could be a real boost to mask and filter manufacturing industries.

GlacindaTheTroll · 11/01/2022 08:14

Someone’s been holding on to these revelations until recently and they’re coming out one by one. I have been pondering why. Why wait till now?

Needed to foment some splits in the party first. Tory party seems hell bent on destroying itself from the inside, and has already forgotten that Boris led a purge which gave their greatest electoral win for ages. Cummings needed to wait for the squabbling to start up again, and exploit it.

AdamRyan · 11/01/2022 08:14

The opposition are currentlymunelectabke because they haven't shown us what policies they have.
Why on earth would the opposition talk in detail about their policies 2 years out from an election? Anything good, the Tories will rip off.
I like Keir Starmer. He is obviously a very competent person, everything he does makes me think he has integrity. I don't understand why anyone would choose to vote for Boris over Keir.

Player067 · 11/01/2022 08:16

@GlacindaTheTroll

Good question, I doubt the government are doing to as it damages their reputation, however it does beg the question, who does benefit?

No-one really. And assuming thus is Cummings revenge, there does need to be someone who benefits, as the whole aim would be the tearing down. Collateral damage not important in that scenario

Could it be to pressure Johnson into lifting further restrictions? Eg, The Times front page headline today is about reducing isolation to 5 days. It was widely observed that the party revelations prevented Johnson frm imposing further restrictions before Christmas . Maybe Steve Baker/CRG lot are drip feeding these stories to speed up dropping of restrictions/ apply pressure?
kittensinthekitchen · 11/01/2022 08:17

My oldest friend was 37 when she lay dying in hospital. Her partner got to say goodbye just before she passed. Her three young children did not. I never got to say goodbye, and there was no funeral service.

Meanwhile, the government are having drinks parties, because they've been having an "incredibly busy period"?

Get. Them. Out.

Yes it's this. But it's much worse than about restrictions. They want to end basic infection control mitigations.

Youngstreet · 11/01/2022 08:22

@kittensinthekitchen. I’m sorry, that’s terrible.

My dd had just 15 people, no food or drink allowed at her wedding in 2020. Her own db couldn’t attend.
I hate the Tories more than ever.

BitcherOfBlakiven · 11/01/2022 08:22

Meanwhile, Sarah Everard was kidnapped and murdered and this happened because she was told she’d broken lockdown…

I'm so sorry for your loss Flowers

But if you think Boris going will change governments, you're in for a massive disappointment. He's going to be replaced by someone even more amendable to 300 deaths a day (and many more Long Covid disabilities).

Tealightsandd · 11/01/2022 08:27

And it seems like those who want to replace him don't want people to live with it. If they did, they'd be all for economy boosting and life (and health) saving mitigations. Masks, vaccine passes, ventilation. But they don't appear to want that.

I only hope I'm wrong.

LadyFanny · 11/01/2022 08:28

@ohfourfoxache

Ismail Mohamed Abdulwahab was a 13 year old child

He died - alone - in hospital. Probably terrified, probably in pain and undoubtedly suffering

His own parents were not allowed to sit at his deathbed as he passed

And these UTTER CUNTS were having fucking drinks??? When thousands were dying, alone, in hospitals and care homes and in their own homes??

History has it’s eyes on our “leaders”. Disgraceful, evil cuntweasels Angry

And his mum and siblings had to watch his funeral on Zoom.

While government were having a party.

prampushingdownthehighst · 11/01/2022 08:34

Kathy Burke right on the money as usual,
"It's so fucking depressing.
Families up and down the country trying their upmost to be good citizens while these pricks enjoy the lovely weather, together, in a big cunty clump"

BashStreetKid · 11/01/2022 08:38

I remember people claiming the opposition was unelectable way back when Major was PM. And yet they proved to be electable and perfectly competent three times over. Starmer was a very competent DPP, he plainly has a much better grasp of what government requires than Johnson does, and the Shadow Cabinet also has a number of very competent people. Yes, they're unknown quantities, but that's what we get whenever we elect a new party into office. That should not be any reason for supinely re-electing a party full of greedy, corrupt and incompetent people who give no fucks for what is in the country's best interests.

AuntieStella · 11/01/2022 08:48

I remember people claiming the opposition was unelectable way back when Major was PM

I don't remember that at all! I do remember the utter amazement when he won in 1992, and how very strong people believed Labout rombe under John Smith

WhatTHEactualWHAT · 11/01/2022 08:59

I am astonished that this immoral party went ahead. Knowing that it could be leaked at any time, cause repercussions and be used as ammunition by opposition
I think BJ is trying to do himself out of a job and bring his own party down for whatever reason. Why wasn't it stopped, such a stupid thing to have gone ahead with it. Total lack of common sense and logic. I don't understand

Roselilly36 · 11/01/2022 09:02

@JustJam4Tea

Lying has become normalised.
Yes I agree, but what I can’t fathom, is when it comes to the virus why so many don’t question the lies, the figures, that are grossly overestimated, that’s being kind at best.
Wintersun · 11/01/2022 09:02

This is a disgrace. They put in such awful tough restrictions on the general public including the inhumane banning of visitors for the sick, including children, whilst they obviously had no fear of this highly dangerous virus.
It’s not the fact that they partied that disgusts me, it’s the above. Visitors could have had hospital grade PPE and allowed to visit.
Starmer would’ve been awful. He seems he would have been desperate to put us under as many restrictions as he could’ve.
They may not all be the same, but there’s no good choice for government.

Likkleredridinghood · 11/01/2022 09:06

'Starmer would have been awful' ? So you can now predict the future ? The whitewash starts....

Wntersun · 11/01/2022 09:09

@Likkleredridinghood

'Starmer would have been awful' ? So you can now predict the future ? The whitewash starts....
Well, not really. It’s an opinion on a possible alternate reality based on his performance over the last 2 years.

@Roselilly36

What I can't fathom is why people keep spouting this nonsense.

What is your evidence that figures are "grossly overestimated"?

Poetrypatty · 11/01/2022 09:12

As pp have said, that's 100 people in Downing St (and whoever they've told) AND the Met Police, who have known this and said nothing for nearly 2 years. Rotten to the core.

kittensinthekitchen · 11/01/2022 09:13

Starmer would’ve been awful. He seems he would have been desperate to put us under as many restrictions as he could’ve.

@Wintersun or is it @Wntersun (not sure why you have two names?)

In Dec 2021, when many were calling for a 'circuit breaker', Starmer was speaking out against it. How does that fit your narrative of "as many restrictions" as possible?
