How do you drink Baileys?

My grandma gave me a 1ltr bottle of Baileys for Christmas, I've never even tried it before but I'm going to give it a go! How do you drink it? Is it like a shot type thing like people would drink whiskey/brandy etc? Just pour a glass full and drink it like a boozy milkshake? Mix it with anything?

@GiveMyHeadPeaceffs I’ve done that with vanilla vodka … need to try it with toffee vodka! Sounds lush 😋

Neat over ice 50 /75 mils.

I don't like in coffee it's too sweet but then I drink my coffee black with no sugar so what do I know

With a shot of drambuie

Don't mix with a traditional mix like coke , lemonade , tonic it will curdle

However if you are feeling brave 50ml of Baileys a few drops of grenadine and about 10 ml of roses lime cordial it will instantly curdle the Bailey's is called a squashed frogShockGrin

Shot glass. Fill 3/4 with butterscotch schnapps. Use the back of a teaspoon to pour the Baileys over to top the glass up. Knock it back.

Was introduced to this 20+ years ago by the great staff on an island on the Great Barrier Reef - they called it a Cock-Sucking Cowboy. Extra points if you can pick up the glass and down it without using your hands 😂

It’s pretty much the only shot I really like. Haven’t had one for ages. Need to add items to my next supermarket delivery!

On Vienetta ice cream. Do it - you won't regret it.

Mixed with butterscotch schnapps & loads of ice, or if you are anything like I used to be when I was drinking, drink a full bottle before going out clubbing. Baileys is one reason I'm on the wagon, I like it too much.

I used it during lockdown as a milk substitute for a Pasta N Sauce. Baileys carbonara. Highly recommended.

Neat with no ice. I hate ice in drinks.
I keep the bottle in the fridge.
In summer it's delicious poured over vanilla ice cream with a topping of cream, dusted with chocolate powder.

@saltedBubbly

Does it keep? I've had an opened bottle in he cupboard for a year. DH says it goes off.. I say it's fine. Who is right?
In my experience, yes it keeps in the cupboard for a year or more!

Baileys and brandy is nice if you want more of a buzz

ChipButtyCurrySauce · 09/01/2022 10:11

Over ice in a very large glass! It's also nice in coffee and hot chocolate. Sometimes I drink it with spiced rum. 😋

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 10/01/2022 13:15

Right, so I tried it on its own and the alcohol was much too sharp. So I tried pouring it over some Ben and Jerry's (Sofa So Good Together, if you're interested. It's salted caramel flavour) and that was really nice! I also did the milk trick and that worked brilliantly, it tasted so much better mixed with milk! No idea how much of anything I used, just glugged bits of each into a glass until it tasted right 🤣

Also, a friend always puts a shot of whisky in hers...she's right it's better.
