How do you drink Baileys?

My grandma gave me a 1ltr bottle of Baileys for Christmas, I've never even tried it before but I'm going to give it a go! How do you drink it? Is it like a shot type thing like people would drink whiskey/brandy etc? Just pour a glass full and drink it like a boozy milkshake? Mix it with anything?

Definitely from a shoe.

This is the only way.

I like it in Hot Chocolate with a dash of rum too. Also poured over dry cake (pannatone is good).

thickthighs73 · 08/01/2022 18:27

Swig it straight from the bottle Grin

Ice cubes water it down, big no from me.

fernyflax · 08/01/2022 18:28

I add a bit of milk. Weird I know.

TheHoptimist · 08/01/2022 18:28

In coffee- just use it like milk

BertieBotts · 08/01/2022 18:28

Do not drink it like a vodka mudshake/bacardi breezer. You will get very very drunk and fall over and cry on people. It is stronger than those types of drink, more like a spirit.

MrsMorningStarOfBethleh · 08/01/2022 18:28

@CopperApricot

Straight from the bottle with a straw. It's basically a milkshake, right?
I came to say exactly the same 😂
LadyNell · 08/01/2022 18:29

Just with ice but I also drink it with Aldi Creme Caramel liquer added, it's lovely

My dd likes it like that. She says you can taste the favour more and the alcohol less.
LadyNell · 08/01/2022 18:29

Nice on ice cream too

Tiredmum100 · 08/01/2022 18:29

I chill in the fridge and then pour a large one with ice. I really gaxynone now....

GiltEdges · 08/01/2022 18:29

In a coffee (instead of milk), on Christmas morning. That is all Grin

Tiredmum100 · 08/01/2022 18:29

*fancy one 🙄

fernyflax · 08/01/2022 18:30

@AlDanvers yes! That's exactly it actually. It's takes the edge off for me

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 08/01/2022 18:30

I drink mine like this; measure of Bailey's, measure of toffee vodka and ice cubes made from really strong espresso. I can only manage a couple but bloody hell they're delicious Grin

amusedbush · 08/01/2022 18:30

Came here to say ‘from a shoe’ but I see I’ve been beaten to it Smile

I love it in hot chocolate or just over ice.

I start a new bottle at the beginning of December. Keep it in the fridge so it's cold. Therefore no need for ice - so it doesn't get diluted.

I use my special Bailey's glass (smaller than wine glass, larger than sherry glass).

One glass per evening, to feel nicely warm and mellow. Two if I've had a bad day. I don't recommend the straw method until you're really clear about how strong it is!

Then I don't buy another bottle till next year, so it's still new and exciting come the following December.

I may have put too much thought into this.

From a shoe
Nice! Grin
mongoosebaby · 08/01/2022 18:36

Someone on here at Christmas recommended putting it on Vienetta! That was amazing. We like it in hot chocolate or coffee. Or just straight up- keep in freezer so it's ice cold

Imabitbusyatthemoment · 08/01/2022 18:37

Over ice. Somethings with Cointreau, if you like chocolate orange. 🙂

Badabingbadabum · 08/01/2022 18:37

It is nice over vanilla ice cream.
