How do you drink Baileys?

My grandma gave me a 1ltr bottle of Baileys for Christmas, I've never even tried it before but I'm going to give it a go! How do you drink it? Is it like a shot type thing like people would drink whiskey/brandy etc? Just pour a glass full and drink it like a boozy milkshake? Mix it with anything?

Hot chocolate, with coffee, on its own with ice, I love the stuff.

Favourite for me is a slug on hot milk but do be careful!
It's spring drinkable and you can't see how much your having!!

Without ice. In a spirits glass. From the fridge

Abraxan · 08/01/2022 21:52

In fact I've just had one :)

CaptainCallisto · 08/01/2022 21:58

I once used it instead of milk making pancakes. Best pancakes I've ever eaten Grin

I tend to drink it neat straight out of the fridge, or in hot chocolate.

With ice in a glass x

AuntieMarys · 08/01/2022 22:07

With Chambord

The AI hotel in Malta we stayed at a few years ago had a 'sweetheart' cocktail. Milk, coffee liqueur and bailey. Went down far too easily!

I usually just keep a bottle in the fridge and have a small (ish) glass of it, with something savoury because it is very rich.

Bluntness100 · 08/01/2022 22:13

@AuntieMarys

With Chambord
What really? I’ve both in the booze fridge, I can’t imagine that?
Echofallen · 08/01/2022 22:15

Ice got a cheaper Lidl own brand version in my hand right now, I squirted M&S chocolate cream on top, yum.

WWDD · 08/01/2022 22:20

With ice
In hot chocolate or coffee
With milk
Over ice cream
Basically any way I can

amusedbush · 08/01/2022 22:22

@Toddlerteaplease

Could someone explain about the shoe?
It's a reference to The Mighty Boosh. There's a weird character called Old Gregg who asks "have you ever drank Bailey's from a shoe?"
SweetPotatoDumpling · 08/01/2022 22:30

@Bluntness100

Op drink it like a whisky basically. You’d not drink a tumbler full of that, so a measure in a glass with some ice.

It’s also lovely, and my preferred method, in a coffee, instead Of milk. It’s also quite nice poured over ice cream.

Erm...I beg to differ 🤣🤣 I can definitely drink a tumbler full 👍👍🥰🥰

Davros · 09/01/2022 00:11

Not a shoe, a boot. Chilled.

How do you drink Baileys?
weegiemum · 09/01/2022 00:23

What you don't want to do is buy a bottle each and then sit by the fire drinking it on ice until it's all gone, because when you try to get up, someone will have stolen your feet.

Says my "friend"!

whattodo2019 · 09/01/2022 00:26

in a tumbler with ice
Substitute for milk in coffee
poured over ice cream

saltedBubbly · 09/01/2022 00:27

Sebastianthecoo · 09/01/2022 00:29
