Had some YouTube recommendations which lead me to this.

What’s been the best concert you’ve been to & who do you wish you’d got a chance to see live?

My favourite was Pink - just absolutely phenomenal. Her voice blew me away.

I wish I’d got the chance to see Tina Turner live.

The best I’ve been to was Muse in Lisbon. They are amazing live, and the fact we were spending the weekend in a beautiful city, with beautiful weather and fantastic food just made the experience even more special.

Also loved Pulp in Hyde Park 10 or so years ago. Jarvis is a God.

One of the most surprising ones was The Proclaimers who did a gig a few years back in the town where I live (which is not the sort of town that often hosts well known artists). They were absolutely bloody brilliant. So many fantastic songs. Their band were brilliant musicians.

Would have loved to have seen Queen with Freddie. Envious of those who were at Live Aid!

We’re seeing the Chilli Peppers in Glasgow next year and I’m expecting that to be good!

The Foos, Elton John, Prince, Simply Red, Simple Minds, Tina Turner, all amazing.

The Eagles at Wembley Stadium - they came on stage and played the first chords of Hotel California just as the sun was going down over the top of the stage.

Fleetwood Mac at the 02 - the full line-up including Christine McVie.

How I wish I'd seen Queen and also George Michael.

I wish that I had been at Live Aid - at the time it wasn't 'my thing'. I went to friend's wedding that day and watched coverage afterwards but it was something that I don't think could be repeated (especially Queen with Freddie).

Bruce Springsteen July 1988, Sheffield United Football Ground, one of the highlights of my life

Seen so many amazing gigs, a few stand outs were.......
Foo Fighters at Milton Keynes Bowl - mainly because DH isn't a huge fan of any music whatsoever but I dragged him along, he realised he loved it and now enjoys live gigs. We now try and see them whenever they are in London.

Arctic Monkeys at The Astoria in 2005. They'd only released music through MySpace at the time and it was amazing to be in a room with people who knew all the words to a band who hadn't officially released anything. The atmosphere was electric.

The Prodigy anywhere but stand out was Brixton Academy.

Rolling Stones at London Stadium a few years back was amazing, and better than I'd seen them at IOW festival yonks ago.

absolutelynotfabulous · 19/12/2021 08:43

Dead envious of the poster who's seen the Eagles.

Ive seen so concerts it's hard to pick a favourite.

The best for me though has to be Steely Dan as they do hardly any live stuff. Saw them in 1996 in the NEC.

A group called the Saw Doctors are brilliant live and great fun.

Saw the Human League and Level 42 recently. Both great.

Wish I'd seen James Brown before he died.

Worst for me was Van Morrison in about 1982. Looked rather worse for wear. Grin

The Who at (old) Wembley 1979
Led Zeppelin at Knebworth 1979
Genesis at Knebworth 1978 and at Milton Keynes 1982

HunkyPunk · 19/12/2021 08:45

Has to be my very first - David Bowie at Brighton Dome in 1973. Unforgettable!

Mumzoo5070 · 19/12/2021 08:53

The Smiths in 1985.

ThisIsTrifficult · 19/12/2021 09:25

REM at Stirling castle. Amazing location, front row and Michael Stipe was beautiful.

Glad I've seen Brian Wilson too. Wonderful concert and what a talent!

Rolling stones at Twickenham was great even if I was at nosebleed height!

Killers and foo fighters at reading festival. Foos always seem to play reading as if it's their last ever performance and it's amazing to watch!

Also a small band called And So I Watch You From Afar. They play like it's the end of the world.

clpsmum · 19/12/2021 09:27

Prince

mdh2020 · 19/12/2021 09:29

Bruce Springsteen anywhere in the open air eg Wembley Stadium and, in contrast, Itzhak Perlman playing the Brahms Violin Concerto with the Israel Philharmonic at the Festival Hall back in 1987.

Tayegete · 19/12/2021 09:38

Have seen the Prodigy and James a few times and they are always amazing. Saw Faithless at a festival and I wasn’t a massive fan but their set was awesome. Would have loved to have seen The Smiths. I’ve seen the Cure in the 2000s and they were a massive disappointment but their glasto set made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and I was only watching it on tv. Would love to see the Stone Roses too.

SkiingIsHeaven · 19/12/2021 09:45

The Foo Fighters always put on a good show.

Dolly Parton was amazing if you like that sort of thing.

Yesthatscorrect · 19/12/2021 09:49

The 1975 in Feb 2020 when it was OK to jump and sing with tens of thousands. I thought I would faint with excitement.

The Killers are absolutely amazing every time I've seen them too.

Privileged to have seen George Michael three times too.

Innatenvi · 19/12/2021 09:51

I really enjoyed Snow Patrol, I only went because my then boyfriend was a massive fan, but they were very engaging and the singer was very funny.

Maneskin put on a very energetic show, they all stage dive & they're clearly very well rehearsed. I was quite near the front and it was absolutely fantastic.

I wish I'd seen Queen.

Billiesmovingout · 19/12/2021 09:52

Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday party. I saw everybody.

HeronLanyon · 19/12/2021 09:59

Ella Fitzgerald count Basie and Oscar Peterson early 80s.
Liza Minnelli around 10 years ago - in good form - true star quality.
Grace Jones - Somerset house.
Debbie Harry late 90s
Leonard Cohen - front row 02, Royal Albert hall’90s, and many others.
Patti smith roundhouse a few years ago.
Gil Scott-heron.

LadyOfMisrule · 19/12/2021 10:16

Best: Robbie Williams. Saw him at Milton Keynes; I wish I’d been to Knebworth too.
Basement Jaxx
The Proclaimers
The Notting Hill Billies
Paul Young
John Pilkington and the Atlantic Wave Band (in a little pub - best thing I’ve ever seen)

Wish I’d seen: Queen

mnahmnah · 19/12/2021 10:44

I had tickets to see Prince in 2007 I think it was. Split up with boyfriend. Couldn’t find anyone else to come with me. Wish I’d gone on my own now but it was at Wembley and i was up north. Still gutted now!
