French Man has fingers removed to resemble "alien."

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but it popped up on my news feed and I initially thought it would make a lighthearted "Oh look, a man identifying as an alien now" post.

Reading the article it's absolutely horrific. This poor man needs help, not people indulging his delusions. The surgeons involved need struck off, whatever country they're in.

TW - images are disturbing.

I'm almost as shocked the paper has this under "Beauty, Cosmetic Surgery"

@curdsandwhey no, it wasnt an accident or an emegency. It wasnt infected nor was it causing him pain. He refused mental health input. We told him to get in touch with the private team that inserted it.

I think it's been faked... or maybe the surgeon removed the fingers for medical reasons and the man wanted to have 5 mins of fame so made up a ludicrous story. All very bizarre.

thisplaceisweird · 24/11/2021 20:20

More perplexed by the photo of him in a polo shirt and flat cap? Doesn't really go with the look

Which horrendous doctor(s) agreed to these procedures???

Surgeons will chop off a penis if they're paid enough. It's not beyond the realm of possibility that a surgeon has chopped off someone's fingers.

Whatwouldscullydo · 24/11/2021 20:25

I used to be of the mindset that what ever a fully informed consenting adult decided to do to their body was up to them. I have changed my mind in extreme cases like this and think when something is of no benefit or based on completely unrealistic expectations then maybe just maybe someone along the line should step in if the subject doesn't appear to have a grasp of reality. Benefits should outweigh harm.

If you are chopping off fingers and moses then what is the benefit ? Its all harm.

Sometimes people need saving from themselves.

He was such a nice looking man befire. And yes I am.fully aware of the fact he doesn't owe me or anyone else anything and he shouldn't ever decide not to do things because some stranger on the knternet will no longer like how he looks but the infection risks alone warrant a no surely?

And the rest of the surgeries and tattoos? He's had his ears removed, his nose removed, his upper lip removed, his tongue split and tattoo all over his body Inc his eyeballs
holibobs12 · 24/11/2021 20:27

@BleuJay

An abomination to the human race.

Aptly put! That person looks terrifying.

holibobs12 · 24/11/2021 20:28

@ChaToilLeam

It’s evil that doctors would actually do this.

I can't believe it's even legal to make yourself disabled for cosmetic reasons. Fucking batshit procedure, doesn't even look alien-like, just like he chopped two fingers off

Lockheart · 24/11/2021 20:29

It doesn't matter what he looked like before so I don't know why everyone's going on about him being so handsome previously. Would it be less bad if he was ugly before?

We have cosmetic surgeons who'll inflate your breasts by sticking bags of silicon underneath them, or who will remove healthy breast tissue, who'll break your nose because you think it's got the wrong shape and who will inject plastic into your lips because you think they look a bit thin, and yet somehow we don't blink an eye at that.

If he wants it and is willing to pay for it, I don't see the issue. He's not hurting anyone. I think he's bonkers, but it's not my business.

littleburn · 24/11/2021 20:31

Because he has a strong, internal sense of being an alien and anything other than affirmative medical intervention to confirm that is hate-filled prejudice.

minipie · 24/11/2021 20:32

These surgeries are expensive

Someone is funding this

iklboo · 24/11/2021 20:32

A lot of overseas doctors don't have the same regulations, ethics etc. Many will probably do anything for the right money and a 'tag' to the procedure. A great deal of his mods have been done by tattoo artists & piercers except the surgical stuff. Hell, he could have gone to an unscrupulous vet for all we know.

As long as he has capacity to consent, understand the outcome & consequences, the risks and retain the info he can pretty much get what he pays for.

He's very unwell IMHO.

TheRealHousewife · 24/11/2021 20:32

Disturbing & fascinating in equal measure 👿😈

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 24/11/2021 20:32

I find it sad, more than anything.

ShaneTheThird · 24/11/2021 20:33

So much wrong with this.

Does anyone remember Dennis Avner? Aka stalking cat, aka cat man?

He did extreme things and paid a lot of money to look like a cat and ultimately he ended up commiting suicide. Really really sad story and seemingly very nice chap seemingly plagued by mental health sadly.

And wasn't there a tattoo artist/body modifier here in the UK who was arrested for cutting off people's nipples and forking their tongues?

Really anyone willing to do these things to other people need to be on a watch list.

MarshaBradyo · 24/11/2021 20:33

I don’t think I can look sounds bad

ArrrMeHearties · 24/11/2021 20:34

I have no words 🙈

Wondering1000 · 24/11/2021 20:36

Very sad Sad I found it quite upsetting to look at these pictures. I wonder if he has family and what they think...

I actually think there should probably be tighter regulations on these. If someone appears overly dependant, convinced this one surgery will fix everything in their lives, appears to have a distorted view of the problem, or has had a surgery and clearly has a history of fixating on something else the second another " problem " is fixed , or is requesting something that is equivalent to inflicting a disability then yeah I mean I bat an eye lid fir sure.

I mean these drs who create boobs so big they probably can't see their own feet and their back kills , well they shouldn't be allowed. Equally rendering a healthy female incontinent trying to create a penis out of rolled up thigh, or chopping off fingers to look like something that some can't even be proven to exist.

I mean o believe in aliens but I've never seen one and I'd certainly not chop off my nose to model something I can't even prove exists.

Why on earth was my comment deleted?

Anyway I'll re-post the link. Presumably a link from one of America's most venerable publications isn't against the rules.
