I really miss the Phileas Fogg snacks from around the 90s, particularly Punjab Puri and Mignon Morceaux… god they were good. Also Frisps if anyone remembers them. And NikNaks before they went dry and biscuity. Anyone else?

Frisps are still available

hazelnutpraline · 06/11/2021 20:39

B and M sell them and I'm sure Morrisons do too. I regularly buy a multi pack.

You have just reminded me, because they were around the same time as Phileas Fogg I think, there used to be these little bags of mini garlic bread. They were so tasty. I’ve googled but can’t find the make, they were this sort of size though

Panyan pickle.

RoseMartha · 06/11/2021 20:49

Red wine
Italian food

I know you can still get them but I am now intolerant to the some of ingredients.

Mmmmmmm. I remember those, delicious.
TillyDevon · 06/11/2021 20:51

I’ve had to give up gluten and other foods 10 years ago so slightly different but would do anything for a jam doughnut, iced bun and Bakewell tart. Even if they exist GF I usually can’t eat them due to other ingredients!

TomAllenWife · 06/11/2021 20:56

Findus crispy pancakes (chicken & bacon)
Lean Cuisine Zucchini Lasagne - omg I would kill to try this again

totorostoes · 06/11/2021 21:01

Bugs life ice lollies with little jelly sweets in

HunterHearstHelmsley · 06/11/2021 21:03

I've just seen a mention of Sunny Delight on a McDonald's thread. I am now missing proper old school Sunny D. Also, speaking of Maccies, their breakfast bagels.

suckingonchillidogs · 06/11/2021 21:04

Ice Magic
Haunted House ice lollies

EdithWeston · 06/11/2021 21:06

Mignon morceaux! I'd totally forgotten those - they were lovely!

I still miss the full length Twiglets that came in boxes

And the old-fashioned, original salt- and MSG-laden Pot Noodles

RainbowZebraWarrior · 06/11/2021 21:11

Also miss the Phileas Fogg range. Largely because it was produced 15 miles away from me in Consett, but they sold out and it died a death.

plumpylumpydumpy · 06/11/2021 21:11

I see the little garlic breads in some of the discount stores. Bargain buys (Poundstretcher), Home Bargains & B&M. They do tomato ones too.
I miss Haribo Micromix, even though I wouldn't be able to eat them now as I'm a vegetarian.
I also miss peanut M&Ms for the same reason. I think about them a lot!

AlphabetStew · 06/11/2021 21:12

Mars Delight
Secret bars
Ice cream tacos
Drifter bars
I used to miss those chocolate covered pretzels but they brought them back. Bring Back Secret Bars!! Bring Back Secret Bars!! Bring Back Secret Bars!!

plumpylumpydumpy · 06/11/2021 21:14

@EdithWeston I miss salt in a lot of things!
I used to work in food manufacturing and we were constantly trying to reduce salt in accordance with government policy but it's gone too far now and so many things are tasteless Sad

MrsFin · 06/11/2021 21:16

Ruffle bars

BIWI · 06/11/2021 21:16

Secret Bars failed because they were so sickly. Not many people could eat a whole one - and even if they managed it the first time, it put them off buying a second time.

Initial sales were massively high, but repeat purchasing was too low for Rowntrees to be able to keep on manufacturing it.

Surmeslevres · 06/11/2021 21:17

Those tinned treacle sponge puddings that you cooked in a pan full of boiling water. They had a superb flavour.

DialSquare · 06/11/2021 21:17

@suckingonchillidogs

Ice Magic Haunted House ice lollies
Haunted house ice lollies were the best. I also miss Burtons cheese and tomato potato puffs.
HazelandChacha · 06/11/2021 21:17

Ahh the little garlic breads I was thinking of weren’t the Mignon morceaux -I don’t think I ever ate those ones, the ones I had had a white packet with blue & white on & a very French look.

I didn’t know drifter bars were gone, I loved them.

tulipsaremyfave · 06/11/2021 21:18

Pot Rice and Pot Casserole

Cheeseandlobster · 06/11/2021 21:19

Everythingbeing bigger. And no palm oil so things just tasted nicer

HazelandChacha · 06/11/2021 21:19

Does anyone remember a green puff bar covered in chocolate? I think it was mint flavour and had a black wrapper. Might actually have been late 80’s. It’s the texture I remember more than the taste but, despite the occasional google, I’ve never found what it was.
