This.

Ok.
I'll ask what everyone is thinking.

Where are you putting them?????!!?????

MintyCedric · 04/11/2021 23:58

I like the taste but not wild on the texture however I have just discovered that slicing them onto porridge with a generous dollop of salted caramel sauce makes for a very nice breakfast.

Also in smoothies...100g of frozen mango and pineapple, 1 small banana, 150ml soy milk, dollop of coconut yoghurt and a tablespoon of chia seeds.

Evesgarden · 05/11/2021 00:00

I doubt this will make it in to classics ..

BeefSupreme · 05/11/2021 00:03

Where are you forcing them?

bizzey · 05/11/2021 00:07

I don't want it in classics
I agree with pp ..I like the taste ..but not the texture.
I need the potassium .

Sure…

godmum56 · 05/11/2021 00:09

why not buy a supplement with potassium in?

Mum6776 · 05/11/2021 00:11

Or eat a tomato?

GameofPhones · 05/11/2021 00:12

I don't mind the texture, but dislike the taste. They are ok with ice cream, or plain yogurt. Their basic flavour is ok, but somehow too strong. Ice cream or yogurt counterbalances it nicely (and the yogurt is good for you too).

midlifecrash · 05/11/2021 00:16

Just realised haven’t had a banana since lockdown and don’t miss them at all. Tomatoes are a good source of potassium and so are potatoes lentils and dried fruits

Plenty of veg with more potassium and less sugar than bananas.

RedToothBrush · 05/11/2021 00:19

Bananas are destroying the planet. All that shipping across the world.

Eat an avocado instead. They are much nicer.

Onlinedilema · 05/11/2021 00:23

I can't think of ever forcing a banana into me.........no not tried that 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

GuiltyAsChargedYrHonour · 05/11/2021 00:24

I eat 2 or 3 a day, depending on size (great thread title btw OP!)

Sliced with ice cream and toffee sauce is delish, though perhaps not super-healthy!

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 05/11/2021 00:25

Never, I hate bananas and anything banana-flavoured.

Socially embarrassing at times as you're supposed to drool over banoffee pie, banana bread etc.

Hydrate · 05/11/2021 00:26

My cardiologist told me to just eat half a medium sized banana a day for potassium, when telling me sources of potassium. (I had tablets but they bothered my stomach) He said they were high in sugar or something (I forget) I usually make a peanut butter banana sandwich.

Try making banana bread, muffins and pancakes.

Just to add, I still shudder 45 years later at the memory of some banana-flavoured penicillin I had to take as a toddler when I had ear-ache.
TheQuest · 05/11/2021 00:29

If you haven’t made frozen banana ice cream yet, give it a try.
Chop up and freeze some ripe bananas then whizz in a blender with a dash of milk and whatever flavour you like. It’s amazing ice cream with no sugar added.
YouTube has loads of ideas.

TasteTheMeatNotTheHeat · 05/11/2021 00:29

There are no nutrients in bananas that you can't get elsewhere. If you don't like them then just stop eating them. (I'm assuming you are eating them and not forcing them into yourself elsewhere)

KloppsTeeth · 05/11/2021 00:31

Never. They are evil things. Especially those thick peel stringy things that stick to the side that are neither banana nor skin 🤢
My last place of work had a No Banana policy.
A banana up the exhaust pipe of the selfish driver who parks on the zigzags outside school, is the best use of forcing one anywhere.
