I know there seems to be a news story every day about VAWG and it’s endemic and appalling, but I just read this story and literally exclaimed aloud. It’s horrific. I had no idea this was even being prosecuted.

Imagine being on the jury. Those poor women and girls, and their families. I’m shocked to the core by this, so disgusting.

We watched the news with jaws dropped. Utterly horrific. Senseless. Disgusting. So sorry for anyone with any links to this revolting excuse for a man.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 04/11/2021 20:08

What makes me furious is that on MN, supposedly a place for women in the main, if women say they don't want male MWs/drs etc there is a vocal contingent who will try to shut them down and shame them. These are healthcare professionals we are told - they wouldn't do that.

Except for the repeated evidence that some men who work with patients do.

Now this man wasn't a HCP so I guess my point is indirectly related.

But he worked in a hospital. He had videos of 99 women aged 9-100. Those are only the ones he took images of, of course.

So why didn't anyone notice? From the 1980s to 2020, why did none of his colleagues see anything? Why did the pathologists who in some cases must have examined those bodies not see?

Women are never safe, not in the hospital, not even in the fucking mortuary.

AnyFucker · 04/11/2021 20:11

Women are never safe, are they?

No

GenderApostatemk2 · 04/11/2021 20:49

How much of that sick fucker’s ‘hobby’ is floating about on the internet, shared by countless other depraved perverts?
I can’t imagine how those families even begin to process this.
Then you have Men like Jane Fucking Fae, campaigning for extreme porn to be legal and teaching men how to ‘hide the evidence’.

MassiveHoard · 04/11/2021 20:51

Utterly sickening.

SpeckyWithTheGoodHair · 04/11/2021 20:53

When reading stuff like this I genuinely don't understand those who don't support the death penalty.

I'd call him an animal but that would be unfair to animals.

Horrific. Utterly horrific.

IveGotASongThatllGetOnYNerves · 04/11/2021 20:58

He must be deranged. I'm very glad justice has finally been served.

I cannot comprehend how anyone could ever want to do such depraved things.

CoffeeRunner · 04/11/2021 21:04

It is truly horrific. As if losing your loved one isn't hell enough (I think I read the youngest mortuary victim was just 9 or 10 years old) then to learn this also happened to them.

I saw one of the police officers/detectives on the news saying that they were duty bound to inform the relatives although many said they wished they'd never known as the thought is just too painful.

There are a few hospital employees that would have access to the mortuary around the clock though so I can see how he came to be there undetected. Porters for example have to transfer bodies there at all hours, although this is usually done in pairs. I believe he was an engineer/estates with a genuine need to have access.

NeedWineNow · 04/11/2021 21:07

It was on our local news tonight and DH and I watched and became increasingly appalled and suggested by the sheer depravity of the man. I cannot begin to imagine what it must have been like to hear this in court.

If ever there was a case for bringing back the death penalty this is it IMO. I hope someone gets to him in prison. The thought of my taxes going to keep someone like that alive sickens me.

NeedWineNow · 04/11/2021 21:09

Disgusted not suggested. Flaming tablet!

DueyCheatemAndHow · 04/11/2021 21:09

I had both my children in that hospital. I could have walked past him and not thought anything of it.

It's so terrifying to think these people walk among us

Lordamighty · 04/11/2021 21:15

CCTV in every mortuary in the country. Women & children aren’t safe even when they are dead.

babyinthacorner1 · 04/11/2021 21:21

He’s changed his plea to guilty now so doesn’t that mean the jury won’t have to view all the evidence? Or have I made that up?
I couldn’t believe what I was reading today. Although it was interesting to read how they eventually got him as it links to the Manhunt programme that was on tv recently.
Absolutely horrendous for all involved. Just sickening.

covetingthepreciousthings · 04/11/2021 21:29

Yes and very lucky as from what I've read there was a 1,000 person DNA database they searched and it just so happened one of his brother was amongst those 1,000, what are the chances of that!

immersivereader · 04/11/2021 21:45

Why did the pathologists who in some cases must have examined those bodies not see?

^

Surely a pathologist could tell if a body had been interfered with?

Absolutely horrific. More than 20 unidentifiable victims. My heart goes out to all the families who lost a female loved one in this area during this long period

HalfHope · 04/11/2021 22:03

Grotesque and heartbreaking. Truly shocking news story.

I really don’t want to spend much time pondering on the details of this man’s actions, but I suppose there could be a system for ‘signing off’ bodies which are ready for funeral. I would expect that bodies still subject to forensic tests would be kept separately or under different conditions?
EdgeOfTheSky · 04/11/2021 22:14

Plunging countless grieving families into an absolute horror. Poor poor people.

And no, women are never safe. Not dead, not in a coma (a recent horrific case…the poor woman ended up pregnant).

It is irrelevant that NAMALT. There are so many that are worse than we ever imagined that women can never not be alert or at ease. When out and about there are enough men who are a danger that all men must be treated with caution.

Honestly, if you built a line of cars or washing machines that had as high an incidence of faulty and malfunction as men do you would withdraw the product.

Hotcuppatea · 04/11/2021 22:19

Absolutely awful for the families. In cases like this, I also always wonder how the poor police officers cope who have to watch the footage. How do you scrub that out of your mind?

1Week · 04/11/2021 22:22

Oh my God.

Is this new, or do we just know more now.
Is it driven by porn??

Is there a way to tell for sure?

ArtfulScreamer · 04/11/2021 22:27

He was married to, when I read things like this I always wonder what the wife is like and what the relationship was like. I can't help but imagine a mouse of a women who had no idea what her husband was up to a feel sorry for her to.

Miscarriages of justice.
FrancescaContini · 04/11/2021 22:36

Beyond grotesque. I just saw this on the TV news. I realised my hand was across my mouth to stop myself from screaming in horror.
