For me...

Marmite
Carrot cake
Black pudding
Lucozade

I've got to fifty and all these have so far passed me by. The likelihood is that won't change.

olidora63 · 18/10/2021 15:44

Daisyhoney · 18/10/2021 15:46

butterflyze · 18/10/2021 15:47

Weepingwillows12 · 18/10/2021 15:47

My aunt had never tried pasta. Blew my mind as a teenager

MintyGreenDream · 18/10/2021 15:49

Avocado.
Long Island Iced tea.

Hobbitch · 18/10/2021 15:50

KFC here too
Corned beef 🤮🤮
Offal (is it really ordinary food though?)
Spam
Steak and kidney pie
Treacle tart - I should rectify that!

IBelieveInAThingCalledScience · 18/10/2021 15:52

McDonald's (have tried KFC though)
Aubergine

Bluntness100 · 18/10/2021 15:53

Gosh these are really common every day foods too that folks are mentioning.

I’ve never tried oysters, I just don’t fancy them at all.

polkadotpixie · 18/10/2021 15:53

I've never eaten a steak. It just wasn't something we had as kids and then I went Veggie at 11 so I've never tried one

Coriandersucks · 18/10/2021 15:54

Nuts
Cheese
Tomatoes (raw)
Seafood

There’s more but that’s probably bad enough. I’m a product of a mother who gave in to my demands as a child.

Comedycook · 18/10/2021 15:54

Mushy peas

Lots of brands of fizzy drinks as I hate fizz

mrsm43s · 18/10/2021 16:13

I can't think of anything ordinary, off the top of my head. TBH I genuinely go out of my way to try new things, so I've probably tried everything that I've had the opportunity to.

People who've not tried really everyday things that are readily available i the supermarket (I'm thinking stuff like marmite or mushy peas or avocado or black pudding etc) do you not feel curious to try them, just once? They might end up being your new favourite food!

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 18/10/2021 16:14

Porridge. I just can't get past the smell.

Frazzledd · 18/10/2021 16:17

Figs- Is that ordinary? I can't think of anything!

Berkeys · 18/10/2021 16:18

Meat
Fish
Never will either

IsDaveThere · 18/10/2021 16:19

My issue is that I wouldn't know what to do with them! I have never tried avocado or asparagus or scallops - I'm not ordering them in a restaurant as I might not like it and I don't buy it at home as I don't know what to do with it.

Black pudding is never passing my lips, just knowing what it is puts me off!

HarebrightCedarmoon · 18/10/2021 16:20

Why don't you just try them? You might surprise yourself, but the worst that can happen is that it confirms what you thought. I don't understand how people can lack so much curiosity about the world, particularly about foods which are well-liked by many!

TheBlackArt · 18/10/2021 16:23

I don't like cheese, so i've never had anything like camembert, mozzarella sticks, cheese on toast, etc.

3luckystars · 18/10/2021 16:24

@Fredoftheforest
You have never eaten meat?

AdaColeman · 18/10/2021 16:24

McDonalds
KFC
Those Mexican food kits (El Paso?)
Irn-Bru.... keep meaning to try this
Sweet potato & Butternut squash.... think they will be very like swede

Comedycook · 18/10/2021 16:26

I have never tried avocado or asparagus or scallops

Scallops are a little tricky to cook perfectly but treat asparagus like you would any green veg...steam or lightly boil and have a side dish

Fredoftheforest · 18/10/2021 16:26

@3luckystars - that’s right, I was raised vegetarian. I’ve never eaten any type of meat, fish or poultry.
