Insulate Britain are just awful

TikTok of the pain Insulate Britain are causing.

That poor women. You can hear the pain in her voice.

These people are absolutely heartless.

How many lives are they going to negatively impact before they just shut the fuck up.

Nobody will listen to them because of the way they are going about things.

I cannot get my head around hearing that woman pleading and them arrogantly standing there saying "the police will move us soon anyway" 😡😡😡

Is there not something they can do under the new laws around protesting?

(Namechanged because I reckon this will probably link to my account somehow, not that I post anything on there, but I do rant about people on here sometimes 😂)

Did you see the interview on good morning Britain this morning? It was an utter shambles and the woman couldn’t answer a single question. She was irrational and had no answers. She just ranted.

longwayoff · 27/10/2021 08:23

Awful perhaps. But so is drowning and burning. This is happening across the world and will soon reach here.

Agreed but there are ways of defining what you want to say and doing it in a clear and concise manner. Not ranting on national TV and being unable to answer basic questions.
chocolatethunder · 27/10/2021 08:29

Genuinely if that was me, and my parents or child was rushed to hospital and they wouldn't move. I'd run the fuckers over and happily take any consequence thrown at me for it. Won't be long until something like that does happen though !
Utter dicks

Didn't Richard M say something like 'thankyou for coming on this morning and not answering a single question'. I was only half listening but I snorted.

She was an embarrassment. She had nothing coherent to say and was incapable of engaging reasonably. I'd ask if that was the best they could do, but have seen some of the other interviews and think it might well have been.

Dave20 · 27/10/2021 08:31

Why aren’t they going to prison for contempt court? There’s a live injunction. A magistrate has the power to issue short prison sentences like what happened in 2011 with the rioters.

Me too. I have DS who has life threatening allergies. If they stopped his ambulance I would be going in.
SevenZebrasDancing · 27/10/2021 08:33

But the woman on GMB was screeching about 'my children'. It's okay for her children but not for the people and potentially children in ambulances whose lives they are putting at risk?:

Dave20 · 27/10/2021 18:53

A man was seen spraying ink onto some of the protesters, it’s on social media now.

Why are the police going so soft on them?

Someone will get hurt very soon.

Dave20 · 27/10/2021 18:55

Has anyone told Insulate Britain about China, building a hundred power stations a year? Maybe they should go there and protest...

VladmirsPoutine · 27/10/2021 18:59

Does everyone here who thinks they are terrible think... hmm I dunno that women's rights came about because they asked men very very nicely? Did the suffragettes send out roses and cards as part of their campaign material?

VladmirsPoutine · 27/10/2021 19:00

For the record the ambulance stories have been fact checked and been left wanting.

Campfirewood · 27/10/2021 19:01

Social change comes by bringing people with you, not fucking them all off.
I agree Op.

FreshFreesias · 27/10/2021 19:04

Awful people.

But that was for genuine change. What Insulate Britain is doing is unrealistic and I’ll timed. We’re coming from a pandemic, we’ve a shortage of supplies from the EU, stopping vital supplies and ambulances from doing their jobs will only alienate them.
They are mainly socialists, looking for an excuse to protest. You won’t see them when it’s pissing down with rain.

Abraxan · 27/10/2021 20:44

So the man who's wife (in an ambulance as a patient) was prevented from getting through was found to be lying?

What about the MNetter who posted today that her grandchild's operation had to be cancelled today due to IB's actions? Also lying?

I'm surprised it hasn't happened already. These people clearly hate society and are trying to show that hate. If they'd really want to insulate britain they would be going door to door, having a tv special and running marathons to raise money to do so,
FOJN · 27/10/2021 21:03

The video of the woman trying to get to her mum in hospital was hard to watch.

The argument that they are making us talk about climate change is incorrect, their behaviour instead makes us focus on what arseholes they are and not the cause.

I have no idea why the police are doing so little about it. Willful obstruction of a public highway is an offence and moving them in no way denies them their lawful right to protest.

I wish they'd fuck off or redirect their energy where it might actually influence people who make policy decisions.

VladmirsPoutine · 27/10/2021 21:04

No change ever came about because people asked nicely. There are loads of protests at Parliament - when I was in a related journo field years ago I'd often walk past them on college green. They didn't make the headlines. IB has, for a reason.

Dave20 · 27/10/2021 21:05

But ambulances would have been blocked, even indirectly. There were queues of traffic around the M25, roads in kent and Essex.
Of course there would have been ambulances on duty who were stuck in the traffic.

antsinyourpanta · 27/10/2021 21:15

Since they have whole days/weeks to spare (and don't seem to have jobs to go to) , can't they volunteer to insulate peoples houses, starting with their own? That would seem a more productive use of their time.

Buttons294749 · 27/10/2021 21:24

Totally just to torture other (ideally in their minds non MC) people

Their cause is - they want the UK to be better insulated. So we pay less bills! I think everyone in the UK would like this no need to win us over! They need to target MPs/the government (who couldn't give a shiny shit if us plebs are trapped for hours)

I'm so angry, I wish the courts would go as lightly on the person who rightfully uses their car to make a space as they do on these "protesters"

Dave20 · 27/10/2021 21:48

Boris Johnson or his ministers are not stuck in traffic. I doubt they give a shit. So pissing of thousands of innocent drivers on the M25 isn’t going to hurt the government is it??

PiousPenelope · 27/10/2021 21:53

@starpatch

I don't think the protestors are awful. We are on the brink of out of control catastrophic climate change. Our children or grandchildren are likely to die due to climate change rather than old age. That is what is awful.
Then they need to protest in a way that's meaningful.

They want policy to change about insulation (apparently), and blocking people from seeing dying relatives is not the way to do it. If you believe that then you're as much of a monster as they are (or very gullible)

Please, in this case go and tell this to China. A massive country with massive pollution. Not little England, whose impact on the globe in comparison is relatively small.
