Insulate Britain are just awful

TikTok of the pain Insulate Britain are causing.

That poor women. You can hear the pain in her voice.

These people are absolutely heartless.

How many lives are they going to negatively impact before they just shut the fuck up.

Nobody will listen to them because of the way they are going about things.

I cannot get my head around hearing that woman pleading and them arrogantly standing there saying "the police will move us soon anyway" 😡😡😡

Is there not something they can do under the new laws around protesting?

(Namechanged because I reckon this will probably link to my account somehow, not that I post anything on there, but I do rant about people on here sometimes 😂)

In quite a few of the videos I've seen the police seem to be hovering nearby but not doing very much at all.

Pps have raised some good points about their very heavy handed responses to other protests, but, for whatever reason, these idiots who are actually dangerous cause the police to simply stand and gawp and headscratch for ages before they bother even politely asking them to move.

Police are far too preoccupied with preventing legitimate protest around Sarah Everard and the treatment of women (That's when they're not raping and murdering women aswell).

I know that sounds facetious but I'm very angry at the police in general right now. Their softly softly approach to these terrorists is not helping.

Legitimate protest is important, but this is not legitimate. If I was stuck on the M25 due to these arseholes blocking the road, I would be running them over. Does anyone remember that group of idiots that tried to stop public transport recently and irate commuters were dragging them off trains and beating them up? They didn't try the same 'protest' again. Let the general public at Insulate Britain and they'll soon learn.

Namechangecoztiktokwillout · 04/10/2021 21:13

I'm very fortunate to live in Scotland, their new rules to help women feel safer have been implemented very quickly. They aren't perfect by any means but I've been impressed with their response.

I don't know why England haven't implemented the same rules. I don't even know how they have managed to turn a woman being murdered by one of their own officers into victim blaming and calls for women to be more streetwise about laws that were changing every 2 minutes 😡

As others have said IB would be better protesting and inconveniencing the people who can actually help instead of making people like this poor lady unable to be with her mum as she was ill.

That poor woman on the way to hospital to see her mum.

If I was in that position I'd mow the bastards down, and hang the consequences

honeygriff · 04/10/2021 21:16

I wonder if the protestors were shocked at the treatment they received today? They must realise if they carry on they are going to get a proper kicking? A prison sentence is one thing to risk for your beliefs. Spending months in agony because someone lost it and broke several of your ribs is quite another. I just hope they realise the risks. The sad thing is the ambulance crews whose lives they have made more difficult in the middle of the pandemic will be professional and take them in. I think blocking ambulances is frankly disgusting.

BoomChicka · 04/10/2021 21:24

What a set of scumbag arseholes. Thanks to their reckless arrogance today they will never receive my support, and if I could go down and actively remove them myself I would.

merrymouse · 04/10/2021 22:02

It’s not even clear that they know what they want - they want the government to “make a meaningful statement that we can trust on insulating our homes” - what does that mean? They will accept a platitude from the right person?

Djifunrsn · 04/10/2021 22:04

I have to say, I think I would have driven into them if I had been that lady needing to get to her mum in hospital. Honestly, it makes me feel like going up to my loft and chucking the insulation out of the window.

OhWhyNot · 04/10/2021 22:08

That poor woman

I was quite pleased to see them being dragged away by the public

I’m not even sure what their aim is but I know they are stopping people getting to hospital

bendmeoverbackwards · 04/10/2021 22:21

They’re absolute fuckers. That poor woman 😢

And don’t these people have jobs? How can they spend all this tike protesting??

bendmeoverbackwards · 04/10/2021 22:25

@starpatch

I don't think the protestors are awful. We are on the brink of out of control catastrophic climate change. Our children or grandchildren are likely to die due to climate change rather than old age. That is what is awful.
Yes it is awful. But these people must be really thick if they don’t realise what they are doing does not help them a achieve their aim.
endofagain · 04/10/2021 22:28

Why are the police just standing about?
They are normally very heavy handed with protesters, especially female ones.
These people are putting lives at risk.

PineapplePasta · 04/10/2021 22:33

They're twats, and as a PP said im seriously disappointed in the priests in that rabble. Climate change is important, but disrupting ambulances and people going to work, hospital appointments etc is doing nothing for their cause apart from making people hate them.
Protest downing Street if you want to or do properly organised marches etc but everytime they block a road they should be yanked off it straight away, ideally by the police, they should not be allowed to hold the public hostage.

Feelslikealot · 04/10/2021 22:43

I enjoyed the video of the idiotic dickheads being pulled out of the road so the ambulance could get past. In the background of that video is a car inching very very close to a female protestor lying on the ground. Someone is going to get hurt.

TooOldandTired · 04/10/2021 22:51

They are absolute scum. I'm so angry that they are allowed to get away with it. They should be arrested and put in jail for a few months.

Skysblue · 04/10/2021 23:19

They’re attention-seeking fanatics, and lazy, too. It’s easy to campaign for climate change by sitting in a road on the occasional weekend, getting an ego kick from the pain caused to strangers. It’s harder to relentlessly lobby MPs, stand for local political office, write articles and pitch them, post regularly on social media, give volunteer time and money to charities that have impact and ethics…

Tealightsandd · 04/10/2021 23:45

Protest downing Street if you want to or do properly organised marches etc

That blocks roads and delays ambulances too. In the most densely populated city and close to hugely busy hospitals (used by people from all over the UK).

How about they do something practical? Go and help insulate people's homes or crowdfund for professionals to do it.

Tealightsandd · 04/10/2021 23:47

And if they must march, that kind of thing is two a penny in London. So nothing newsworthy. Like a pp said. Why didn't they protest in Manchester, where the party conference is happening?

MrsPsmalls · 04/10/2021 23:54

@garlicandsapphires

I don't think the protestors are awful. We are on the brink of out of control catastrophic climate change. Our children or grandchildren are likely to die due to climate change rather than old age. That is what is awful.

Agreed.

No these people are absolutely awful. Protesters are meant to change things in favour of their cause. It is literally the only point of protesters. But these wankers are turning people away from the cause. And they are fully aware they are doing this. I have no reason therefore to believe they have any interest in climate change and neither do those who support them . They are anachists who want a fight. End of.
Tealightsandd · 04/10/2021 23:55

They're actually sort of anti climate protestors.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 04/10/2021 23:59

This actually feels like the opposite of a advertisement for insulation. I would feel like if I insulated my home I would be aligning myself with cunts.

YouokHun · 05/10/2021 00:42

That poor woman today. They are heartless and I too can’t help hoping they are confronted by some people who don’t worry too much about their healthy and safety, much like they don’t care about the people they’re punishing.

The protests on the M25 meant I missed a close relative’s funeral. It was when they first started protesting so we didn’t really realise and got trapped on the M25. I’m still really upset about it as I couldn’t support my DSis and DM.

LoislovesStewie · 05/10/2021 05:41

@TheSpottedZebra

I know one of them, a spokesperson but not Liam. Used to be a good friend of my sister but more acquaintances now.

It's all so odd, she's only very recently got involved in eco things, infact she was so anti this way that she has spent decades mocking me for merely being vegetarian. Previous to this, she was very much a zealot about fibromyalgia (or something similar, I forget). But this involvement has really come out of the blue.

You know I think there is a certain sort of person who is just obsessed by something, no matter how odd the subject matter. It's almost like a drug; they become dependent on it and can't exist without telling everyone how marvellous their obsession is, and I think these idiots are some of them. They just can't see the wood for the trees. Only they know the truth, only they matter, only they have the answers.
Mummyoflittledragon · 05/10/2021 06:15

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g

We know the police can clear protestors from an area because we saw what they did at the vigil for Sarah Everard a few months ago. Why aren't they doing that to this bunch of arrogant tossers? They make me so angry. They are doing their 'cause' no good at all.
The police used Covid laws at the time as gatherings were illegal. But yes, they were extremely heavy handed at the vigil. It seems laws are there to ensure protesting men are treated with kids gloves, whereas women were kettled and abused.
Darkchocolateandcoffee · 05/10/2021 06:25

Agree. They are disgusting.

I hope more people rise up against them, and hope the police get their bloody act together sharpish.
