Insulate Britain are just awful

TikTok of the pain Insulate Britain are causing.

That poor women. You can hear the pain in her voice.

These people are absolutely heartless.

How many lives are they going to negatively impact before they just shut the fuck up.

Nobody will listen to them because of the way they are going about things.

I cannot get my head around hearing that woman pleading and them arrogantly standing there saying "the police will move us soon anyway" 😡😡😡

Is there not something they can do under the new laws around protesting?

(Namechanged because I reckon this will probably link to my account somehow, not that I post anything on there, but I do rant about people on here sometimes 😂)

A lot of narcissism these days doesn’t show up with the flashy car, it shows up in the moral supremacy and showboating of ‘activists’

It is literally some sort of personality disorder to not be bothered about blocking someone getting to hospital.

@Tealightsandd

And if they must march, that kind of thing is two a penny in London. So nothing newsworthy. Like a pp said. Why didn't they protest in Manchester, where the party conference is happening?
We’re so used to that sort of thing people in London are generally quite restrained, will move people out the way, odd bit of swearing. The pathetic little creatures are probably worried they’ll get hurt if they go somewhere that protests aren’t as common.
bendmeoverbackwards · 05/10/2021 07:07

Wonder if anyone has thought of going undercover and pretend to support them….?

Sarahlou63 · 05/10/2021 08:12

I think they are very much playing into Pritti Patel's hands (maybe this is the plan, or is that too much of a tin hat conspiracy?) with her incredibly restrictive Police, Crimes, Sentencing and Courts Bill.

Mybalconyiscracking · 05/10/2021 08:33

Don’t blame them for being scared though. Anyone who isn’t scared really isn’t paying attention!

hamstersarse · 05/10/2021 08:40

One of them was just on Julia Hartley-brewer on TalkRADIO.

They are batshit. Absolutely bonkers.

OhWhyNot · 05/10/2021 08:52

Yes why aren’t they disrupting the party conferences ? They would get the press coverage and disrupt those that can make changes

Like XR many of the protesters enjoy protesting the rebellion of what they are doing the carnival atmosphere (with XR)

This isn’t just about saving then planet

Andante57 · 05/10/2021 10:22

I wonder if they’ll protest at COP26 since no doubt plenty of the attendees will arrive by private jet.

Namechangecoztiktokwillout · 05/10/2021 10:33

another tiktok the doctor saying his patient is waiting in A&E and the absolute bell end saying "well 10 and a half million people have died" from what? Not having fucking insulation? Confused

and what they actually want

A meaningful statement from the government apparently. What does that even mean? If Bojo says "Inslaation is great, everyone should get it" would that be meaningful enough?

God they are just awful.

Watching them being discussed on This Morning and the sheer arrogance of them saying they 'may allow' ambulances through is just staggering. Who the fuck do they think they are? Sooner or later someone will die through their actions, maybe even one of them.

They are doing a lot of damage to their cause.

HeyFloof · 05/10/2021 11:04

Probably because the chances of them getting quite seriously and swiftly battered would rise exponentially if they tried it in Manchester.

Also because they're thick fucks and don't actually plan beyond what suits them on that day.

MarshaBradyo · 05/10/2021 11:07

@HarebrightCedarmoon

I would be physically punching, kicking and dragging them out of the road myself in that situation. I thought blocking the highway was already an offence and the police could arrest them? Why aren't the police just moving them?
I thought they could be arrested too

I haven’t heard the clip yet though

Namechangecoztiktokwillout · 05/10/2021 11:20

unbelievable the police telling the idiots to let them now if they need anything or are in any discomfort.

I'm staying off tiktok for the rest of the day, its not doing my blood pressure any good.

OP posts:
CuteGirlsWatchMeEatEther · 05/10/2021 11:21

Why don’t they “Occupy Downing Street” (or just outside the gates) or something like that? They’re not winning any support from the public with their stunts that negatively affect the public only. Go annoy the bloody politicians.

Seeingadistance · 05/10/2021 11:26

I’m 53, and for pretty much all my adult life there have been various different schemes to insulate homes. I don’t understand why they seem to think this is something new. If they want to get more homes insulated, then work with existing charities, promote existing schemes, etc.

They are just pissing people off - big time, and causing actual harm.

roarfeckingroarr · 05/10/2021 11:28

I was so proud of those sarf Londoners moving the sanctimonious twats off Wandsworth Bridge Road. I would've chucked them off the bridge.

Namechangecoztiktokwillout · 05/10/2021 11:30

I read a theory that they were planted to piss people off so the government can implement new laws with the backing of the public so we can all be microchipped or whatever.

I don't believe that at all, I think they are all just tossers with nothing better to do than hold protests over a vague cause and pat each other on the back for 'saving the planet'.

I agree. But I do think the light touch policing is suspect.

@TheSpottedZebra

I know one of them, a spokesperson but not Liam. Used to be a good friend of my sister but more acquaintances now.

It's all so odd, she's only very recently got involved in eco things, infact she was so anti this way that she has spent decades mocking me for merely being vegetarian. Previous to this, she was very much a zealot about fibromyalgia (or something similar, I forget). But this involvement has really come out of the blue.

It’s very much about belonging and feeling part of a group and/or about the ego boost of holding some power and being visible. I bet climate concerns are not nearly as important as the human internal need among some of these people. The ringleaders are manipulating people into abandoning their moral compass for a “greater cause” by using fear and convincing people they are more significant as martyrs to a cause; blocking ambulances becomes justified. People like your friend @TheSpottedZebra are the first to sign up for cults. Is she involved in multilevel marketing too - that’s another great 21st Century manipulation of these needs.
Autumngoldleaf · 05/10/2021 16:06

Hamsters arse, agree

Dave20 · 27/10/2021 07:44

Anyone else think someone’s going to get seriously hurt when Joe public start dealing with these people themselves?
Why aren’t they going straight to jail like what happened during the London riots?
Didn’t Priti Patel pass this in law?

antsinyourpanta · 27/10/2021 07:54

They want every single home in the UK insulated by 2040 or something. But what they fail to see is while they block a road hundreds of cars are idling and causing even more pollution. All seems a bit misguided and hypocritical really.

This is what I don't understand!! I don't see how the 2 issues are linked? And how massively delaying people and buggering up their day (or worse with the more tragic stories) will encourage them to insulate their house?

brokenbiscuitsx · 27/10/2021 08:12

@waybill

They don't care about the environment, not really. If they did, there are far bigger fish to fry. All they care about is anarchy and being able to protest about something and they aren't bothered what it is, as long as they cause disruption to people's lives and hassle for the police.
Yep this. I completely agree.

Why aren’t they protesting water companies dumping sewage, why aren’t the protesting the large companies who spew crap into the air. Why are they targeting the public? I really can’t stand them and I think they’ve gone massive damage to their cause.

Dave20 · 27/10/2021 08:20

The government has to be realistic when it makes green pledges. You can’t just make 67 million people go greener without infrastructure or the capacity to do it.
Why don’t they go to China and protest?
