Insulate Britain are just awful

TikTok of the pain Insulate Britain are causing.

That poor women. You can hear the pain in her voice.

These people are absolutely heartless.

How many lives are they going to negatively impact before they just shut the fuck up.

Nobody will listen to them because of the way they are going about things.

I cannot get my head around hearing that woman pleading and them arrogantly standing there saying "the police will move us soon anyway" 😡😡😡

Is there not something they can do under the new laws around protesting?

(Namechanged because I reckon this will probably link to my account somehow, not that I post anything on there, but I do rant about people on here sometimes 😂)

I'm so sorry @KittenMama Flowers

@merrymouse

I agree . It puts me OFF their cause.

The opposite to what they think they are achieving.

You can’t educate stupid.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 04/10/2021 20:13

We know the police can clear protestors from an area because we saw what they did at the vigil for Sarah Everard a few months ago. Why aren't they doing that to this bunch of arrogant tossers? They make me so angry. They are doing their 'cause' no good at all.

Namechangecoztiktokwillout · 04/10/2021 20:17

@TheSpottedZebra

I know one of them, a spokesperson but not Liam. Used to be a good friend of my sister but more acquaintances now.

It's all so odd, she's only very recently got involved in eco things, infact she was so anti this way that she has spent decades mocking me for merely being vegetarian. Previous to this, she was very much a zealot about fibromyalgia (or something similar, I forget). But this involvement has really come out of the blue.

That is really weird.

I would be interested to know what kind of recruiting technique they have.

The sort of people they will attract now will be dangerous people for sure.

I just can't get my head around them thinking that having that poor woman scared and upset and having to beg for compassion will further their cause.

There are so many better ways to do this that would encourage others to listen and join them and help, right now they are making me want to rip the insulation out of my home in protest of them.

Kitten that's awful.

It's also triggered in me, twice I've had to rush dd not breathing properly today hospital and had df on his death bed and I too desperately trying to get to him.
. It makes me feel repulsed, unfortunately they are unstable people who could have latched onto anything, anti vax, momentum, the bnp.. Any extremist group sadly.
They don't give a flying fuck about the environment.

Orchidflower1 · 04/10/2021 20:18

@KittenMama sorry to hear that.

These are not your run of the mill eco campaigners. They are psychotic eco terrorists who should be treated as such.

Have they actually for a millisecond contemplated the environmental impact their protests are having in terms of wasted fuel, air pollution etc no - because they have blinkers on.

I’d no more listen to them about insulation than I would get ask for health advice from Harold shipman.

I firmly believe in free speech but this is NOT the way to go about a campaign.

What irks me even more is the heavy handed response of police in other gatherings such as BLM and sarah everard when it wasn’t in the least necessary but then NOTHING is done about these eco terrorists who cause chaos across a whole region.

Autumngoldleaf · 04/10/2021 20:19

Same op makes me want to light a Fossil fuel bonfire around them. People have been incredibly restrained with them.

Autumngoldleaf · 04/10/2021 20:19

Yy orhid very good point.

NotresDames · 04/10/2021 20:20

My impression of the police activity (from looking at pics from the start of this fiasco) is they are there to protect the eco idiots until more police arrive. The police appear to park their bikes and cars in front of the public's cars (in some shots.)

I honestly think the police should keep away and let the Great British Public deal with the,.

Like today, a few burly construction blokes soon make short work of them, dragging them off the road.

And if they lose skin off their grubby hands, so much the better.

BUT also, the law does surely exist to arrest and prosecute anyone from blocking a highway.

Orchidflower1 · 04/10/2021 20:21

I agree @MargotMoon comparing themselves to the suffrage movement is just offensive.

vixeyann · 04/10/2021 20:21

I don't know anyone who agrees with their method of protest, which seems short sighted of them given most movements for change require the public's support. What I am most surprised about is that none of them have been decked yet. Was glad to see the Wandsworth Bridge group take some direct action because if the police won't do it, despite them blocking a public highway, then hope the public rally and do.

NotresDames · 04/10/2021 20:23

It annoys me so much!

Their first protests on the M25 were near the junction for the main cancer treatment hospital in Herts. People would have missed appts, and maybe chemo, etc and that may affect their lives.

And no doubt people going to Heathrow would have missed flights.

I wish they were arrested and could be sued for the damage they have clearly done.

Enough4me · 04/10/2021 20:25

I agree, they are selfish and arrogant. Their cause may be just, but it doesn't trump the needs of everyone else going about their lives.

Good hosing down would help, every single time, as they'd have to move as get cold.

Simonjt · 04/10/2021 20:25

@starpatch

I don't think the protestors are awful. We are on the brink of out of control catastrophic climate change. Our children or grandchildren are likely to die due to climate change rather than old age. That is what is awful.
I take it you’re happy for yourself or members of your family to be paralysed to support the cause? I take if if you or a family member were seriously ill you would choose not to use an ambulance?

If you care about climate change why did you choose to have children, the most damaging thing anyone can do.

NotresDames · 04/10/2021 20:25

I am not a violent person but each time this happens, I hope that a group of blokes will walk down the queue and remove them. IMO the drivers are too polite and too restrained.

Namechangecoztiktokwillout · 04/10/2021 20:27

I did read somewhere at least one child missed a chemo appointment, I believe it was in the same 'protest' with the lady who had a stroke and became paralysed.

The video upthread of the men moving them out of the way of the ambulance was amazing, those guys did more in 2 minutes than the police have done throughout. I would buy every one of them a well deserved drink.

I'm pleasantly surprised the police haven't charged the guys actually.

I imagine Boris's Mrs is pleading with him NOT to do anything. So like the charlatan he is, he'll dispense sound bites and do FA about the situation. Don't expect the police to do anything about Insulate Britain. Our modern police force is beneath contempt. Although, perhaps if all of the protesters were women they might move in to flex their muscles, intimidate, trample, hurt and demonstrate their absolute hatred of women.

KittenKong · 04/10/2021 20:33

The last lot of protest blocked the roads - I was trying to get to a hospital appointment with my sister (a serious one) and we had to sprint along the blocked road, behind the twits in the red dresses fannying along, waving their arms and being all high school amdram.

We just bowled through them ‘Scuse me, coming through, gettouta the way!’ Granted they did shift but I would have shoved my way through - we really weren’t in the mood (after having to listen to the buggers banging their drums outside the office all day, and wade ankle deep through all the crap they dropped on the pavements.

Bagelsandbrie · 04/10/2021 20:37

The footage of this really upset me today. They are terrorists really. It’s disgusting.

WhoWearsShortShorts · 04/10/2021 20:42

It would be a shame if they were injured and an ambulance couldn't get through to treat them

Namechangecoztiktokwillout · 04/10/2021 20:44

I bet they would move out of the way to let the ambulance through if one of their own was injured.

KittenKong · 04/10/2021 20:44

Oh no they’d be lying on the road ‘no no, don’t let the ambulance through! Mother Gaya is dying, dyiiiiinnggggg’

Tal45 · 04/10/2021 20:45

I have nothing but hatred and contempt for them.

DismantledKing · 04/10/2021 20:46

They’re a bunch of tossers

Autumngoldleaf · 04/10/2021 20:48

Yes they are terrorists. The utter strain they are putting on people, cancer treatment has all been delayed and disrupted anyway due to covid. What else do we need to deal with.

I'm amazed at how restrained those people all were with the passive faces of these appalling people in their cagoogles.

But.. Where are the police. That's the most dreadful aspect.
