Insulate Britain are just awful

TikTok of the pain Insulate Britain are causing.

That poor women. You can hear the pain in her voice.

These people are absolutely heartless.

How many lives are they going to negatively impact before they just shut the fuck up.

Nobody will listen to them because of the way they are going about things.

I cannot get my head around hearing that woman pleading and them arrogantly standing there saying "the police will move us soon anyway" 😡😡😡

Is there not something they can do under the new laws around protesting?

(Namechanged because I reckon this will probably link to my account somehow, not that I post anything on there, but I do rant about people on here sometimes 😂)

Its definitely going to end in tears.

Its probably going to be one of them that gets hurt or killed and then ends up being some kind of Martyr for their cause.

There are a million better ways they could go about things, and more people would listen to them if they went a different way about it.

They are going to start attracting troublemakers who don't care about IB at all but just want to be dicks and fight the police.

The police aren't powerless to remove them because the have removed them previously

Blueemeraldagain · 04/10/2021 18:50

I’ve just watched this video (linked in another thread about this group) and, even though I despise these people for their choice of protest style, the simmering potential for real violence here is scary. And then at about 55 seconds one younger looking protester almost dives in front of a car.

Selfish sanctimonious bastards. That poor woman, I hope she got through.

I saw the clip of some of them being dragged off the road, only to go back. I can only imagine the uproar when one of their number is run over. Wonder if they will let that ambulance through then?

frumpety · 04/10/2021 19:02

Whilst I agree with the aim to insulate homes, I don't understand why they believe their current mode of protest is going to make the slightest bit of difference. The people who they are blocking don't make policy and won't be voting in a general election for a couple of years, so can't send a message to those who do make policy even if they wanted to.

ufucoffee · 04/10/2021 19:02

I took great pleasure that some of them looked really scared when they were being dragged off the road.

KittenKong · 04/10/2021 19:05

I just imagine how scared someone would be stuck in the back of an ambulance whilst these balloons block the road.

1forAll74 · 04/10/2021 19:05

They all look so stupid, sitting in the roads,or glued to the roads, and they are serving no useful purpose protesting in this manner. I wish a couple of big lorries would run them all down. It has all been idiot type of behaviour, and serious too, with the public and services being affected so much.

FrozenoutofCostco · 04/10/2021 19:06

Everyone needs to be carrying pepper spray in their cars! Then you can just spray them all and get on your way! (I live up north so won't have to deal with them thankfully but perhaps that may change in future)

Orchidflower1 · 04/10/2021 19:07

I am appalled by their selfish behaviour. That poor poor woman. I hope she got to be with her mum.

Tbh they should be treated as extremist and removed using whatever methods are necessary. They are a menace to the safety and smooth running of society they are a danger to life.

NoddingTulip · 04/10/2021 19:08

What a bunch of absolute selfish, heartless, disgusting people.
That poor woman wanting to get to her poorly mother, I really hope she managed to get to her in time.

As for those idiots who glue themselves to the roads, I'd not be wasting anymore of my time gently teasing them off with little tools and stuff like I've seen police doing in some pictures...... I'd be ripping them up off the roads and so be it if they loose the skin off their hands, its their own stupid fault for doing something so utterly ridiculous in the first place.

FrozenoutofCostco · 04/10/2021 19:08

As a single parent, if I was trying to get to my child then I'd be stamping on them! Oh I'm so, so enraged by this!!!!!

Lostinacloud · 04/10/2021 19:10

I never understand why these relatively small groups who want something that only an MP can do anything about dont concentrate more on inconveniencing the MP’s directly. They don’t care about thousands of people on the M25 stuck for hours unless they are stuck too (unlikely). Why do they insist on getting in the way of ordinary people’s lives and not going straight to the ruling elites?

LoislovesStewie · 04/10/2021 19:12

Eventually they will pick on the wrong (I mean right) person who will deck one of them. Can't say that I will be sorry. I just felt for that poor woman trying to get her mum to hospital and the twat leader saying he would have refused to move. I ask you!

mum2jakie · 04/10/2021 19:12

I was wondering whether drivers would be able to have NERF water guns in their cars and spray the daft pricks with cold water?? Let them freeze for a bit! Would that be classed as assault?

JellyfishandShells · 04/10/2021 19:16

They don’t give a dam about insulation - it’s just a simple concept that people understand and are familiar with, so they thought they’d get more public support by using that as an excuse because the Extinction Rebellion brand was tarnished.

I saw an interview with one of them saying that they were just a group of concerned citizens who had got together to bring attention to this worthy cause. Very cosy, very well meaning- except that she was one of the long time, main members of Extinction Rebellion.

SRS29 · 04/10/2021 19:17

They all look like selfish losers who probably haven't done a days work in their life....live off the state and spend their days protesting....utter tw**ts Angry

Tara336 · 04/10/2021 19:18

I can’t believe they have that Liam wotshisface as the spokesman/organiser every interview I’ve seen he doesn’t seem to actually have a clue! Doesn’t insulate his own home, storms off if he’s asked too difficult a question and today was interviewed and started banging on about the NHS when the interviewer asked what’s that to do with insulation? He just waffled! It was only a matter of time before the public started dragging them off the road themselves and who could blame them the distress they are causing to ordinary people is appalling

rocklamp · 04/10/2021 19:18

I'd be tempted to slip on the gas peddle tbh. I mean, in the heat of the moment, anything can happen.

Yes, or a farmer with a slurry spreader.
BigSandyBalls2015 · 04/10/2021 19:21

I also admire her restraint because I would have wanted to mow the fuckers down if I was her Angry

WomanIsTaken · 04/10/2021 19:22

I feel absolutely desperate about the lack of responsiveness to the climate emergency, a bit like the government is blocking the road ahead and for all my pleading and begging, they keep finding new ways of not acting.
It is crazy that so many British homes remain without effective insulation. I saved for years to put thermal insulation on my house and it has made an incredible difference to the energy efficiency of my home, but so many are not as fortunate as to be able to save.
The benefits of adequate insulation are numerous and have a direct impact on quality of life.

YearsSinceISawYou · 04/10/2021 19:22

The police will do nothing. So, one day a delayed person-like this woman-is going to do some serious damage to one or one of the fuckers will be run over.

At that point, I imagine the police will leap into action to arrest the person who demolished one of of them gently herding these daft twats out of harm's way.

Until then, yet another minority group wagging the tail of the fucking dog.

ducksalive · 04/10/2021 19:24

The group that were blocking Wandsworth Bridge were dragged out of the way by members of the public so that an ambulance could get through.
They were told there was an ambulance but didn't care.
So a collection of blokes just dragged them to the side and cleared the traffic.

I actually think insulation is great but this is daft behavior.

YearsSinceISawYou · 04/10/2021 19:24

@WomanIsTaken

Good job the dinosaurs didn't isolate their homes then because if we did, they would still be here and we wouldn't.

The earth has always had climate change otherwise we would still be able to walk to Africa and forests would cover the UK,

There is an alternative view. Stop being fucking hysterical.
