I'm 22 and have been to 1 wedding but I was a kid. I dont know much about the dos and don'ts for wedding guest outfits.
Is this an alright outfit to wear or is it too colourful? Too short?

I prefer the first one OP

DamnShesaSexyChick · 24/09/2021 18:22

I like the first one

Mariell · 24/09/2021 18:22

The blue one is awful but not as awful as the first one.

Why do you want to look cheap, op?

Vulva in a cage GrinGrin oh dear lord.

Sophie1029734 · 24/09/2021 18:23

Also can anyone give me some suggestions? Links/photos of some? I want something young, loose (not tight on on stomach)

@Clymene

What's the vulva in a cage thing in the right hand photo? I want one!
Oh god, once you’ve seen it you can’t unsee it, cheers for that 😂
Mariell · 24/09/2021 18:23

The only person I could see wearing those dresses would be Rose Walton from Keeping up appearances.

AbsolutelySure · 24/09/2021 18:24

Sorry but that's not what I would consider suitable for a wedding.

Driftingblue · 24/09/2021 18:24

Ask yourself if you would wear the dress to church or to brunch with your great grandmother. It doesn’t have to be frumpy, it’s still a night out in the end, but it needs to pass the grandma test.

waybill · 24/09/2021 18:24

The first one - too bright, too frilly, too short, too everything.

The green one, now I like that. Can't say it would suit me, but I'm not wearing it.

AbsolutelySure · 24/09/2021 18:25

Sorry didn't see there were two, second one is better but still no

MilduraS · 24/09/2021 18:26

They both look like the photos you see on these lists https://www.boredpanda.com/prom-dress-online-fails-tweets/?utmsource=google&utmmmedium=organic&utmcampaign=organic

I just spat my tea out.

Sophie1029734 · 24/09/2021 18:28

Can I have some recommendations? I've been looking for ages and I'm struggling.

If it's one of your parents marrying someone you really, really hate, yes these are the perfect wedding outfits.

In all other circumstances, no.

It’s not so much the dress but your accessories.

What about this one

namechanging202020 · 24/09/2021 18:29

Look on chichi London. They have nice dresses

CandleWick4 · 24/09/2021 18:29

OP if I were you and I was 22 I would head over to ASOS. Lots and lots of dresses to go through. Go for something with some colour, a block of colour rather than lots of colours. This dress is a nice colour, nice length but the strapless top shows a bit of skin without being tacky and covers a belly

Honestly despite everyone's thoughts I still love it, but I cant unseen the vulva 😂 I think it wouldnt make sense until I put the outfit together

If you want the frou frou look something like this would be better. Still hideous though.

@Sophie1029734

Is this okay? And no I dont know what is acceptable because I have no clue about weddings.. at all. I dont also dont wanna go for something really mature and typical.

Is this a nice outfit?
Is it the lengtht, what's the typical length people wear?

What kind of budget do you have, where is the wedding (what kind of setting) and what time of year. What kind of colours suit you and what kind of shape are you?

Trend now would be for something mid length but above the knee is fine. You want to look celebratory but appropriate.

namechanging202020 · 24/09/2021 18:32

Not my style but along the lines of the first dress ?

SweetBabyCheeses99 · 24/09/2021 18:32

Hell no. And still no. This is a wedding not clubbing. And neither of these are loose on the stomach. Plus these Chinese sites that sell dirt price outfits are cheap for a reason - because the stuff looks awful. Can you afford H&M or New Look?

The first one would be fine as long as not a church wedding. The second one is fine.
