I'm 22 and have been to 1 wedding but I was a kid. I dont know much about the dos and don'ts for wedding guest outfits.
Is this an alright outfit to wear or is it too colourful? Too short?

Take a look at Silk Fred. Lots of gorgeous dresses that are suitable but stylish for your age

Wear whatever you want OP there is no right or wrong, it's whatever you feel comfortable in

Please @Sophie1029734 don't listen to this, it's so, so wrong.

Just remember that you're a guest at someone else's main event, not a ticketed occasion and you're not the star of the show. Dress your age, dress within your style, but do not go for something cheap and nasty, anything that looks like you're in a stage show, or anything that steals the scene from the bride or the bridesmaids. Those absolutely are the rules.

Beware some of the really cheap online stores in China as the reviews will tell you the goods often don't arrive or they look nothing like the posed photos and you can't get your money back.

No, not for a wedding!
Very nice though.

drpet49 · 24/09/2021 20:23

Hideous dress. I can’t believe anyone would buy it.

OldTinHat · 24/09/2021 20:24

Green is better....but still a no from me

I8toys · 24/09/2021 20:31

Its a bit little bo peep. I'd like to see it on a normal body and not a teeny tiny waisted model.

meadowbleu · 24/09/2021 20:36

Was this one already suggested?
www.silkfred.com/womens/clothing/dresses/day-dresses/ax-paris/navy-floral-frill-wrap-skater-dress

It's not too revealing but not too covered up. Has some subtle ruffles and the skater style is easy to wear.

@Christmas1988

If you want something frilly and purple how about this?

www.marksandspencer.com/v-neck-tie-front-midi-skater-dress/p/clp22527270?color=PURPLE

It’s a bit more wedding that the first one, I’m sorry but that’s more ‘club’ style than wedding.

This is really nice, or the embroidered floral midi dress from chi chi in your third link.
Sd352 · 24/09/2021 20:39

I love this and similar sort of colourful frilly vibe: www.needleandthread.com/products/floral-diamond-ruffle-dress-topaz-pink

(But out of most people’s budgets I imagine)

peachesarenom · 24/09/2021 20:40

I think at 22 ( and also any age) you should wear what you want! I think they are both great ensembles. I would have worn them at 22. Don't let people tell you no. I'm in my late 30s now and I regret letting people tame my dress sense!

Mumwithbaggage · 24/09/2021 20:45

I'm 57 - I'd wear it to a wedding. In fact, I'm going to one in December. May buy it for then...

Or you could just google what to wear for a wedding and wear something normal.

PineNutsAreOverpriced · 24/09/2021 20:49

@mnahmnah has linked to two that are lovely

Hugoslavia · 24/09/2021 20:52

Pretty Little thing has some cracking dresses in at the moment. And a great sale. Perhaps one of these might work?

They are the sort of dresses where you have to do a silly pose and pull a face, which could get a bit tiresome after a time

Hugoslavia · 24/09/2021 20:55

How about this one? You could hide a sandwich up the sleeve for when you got a bit peckish.

@User45829057

That's what lip fillers, fake eyebrows, Botox and veneers were invented for. No need to bother sticking on a smile or pouting for the camera.
