It's basically a lovely house, it just needs to have the interior made a bit more attractive and stylish with a good colour palette and richer furnishings. It's a bit strange to have a swimming pool in that neck of the woods, but maybe they're tough!
I see they're hoping to make over £1m profit.

ShowOfHands · 05/09/2021 14:55

@Naptimenow own it? I've never denied a thing. I don't like their taste. I pointed out in my very first post that I was being slightly tic in my manner of expression rather than sneery but hey ho. I'm glad you're crying with laughter over it all.

SquirryTheSquirrel · 05/09/2021 15:57

This would be more my style of £1M + house, though I'd have no use for the equestrian facilities.

leavesthataregreen · 05/09/2021 17:49

@LivingLaVidaBabyShower

Gorgeous but... the location 😨 and the cleaning 😱
The location is lovely! I know that part of the world very well. It's beautiful. Ramsbottom is nearby for nice shops and restaurants. Manchester not far away for all the culture.
VeganVeal · 05/09/2021 18:02

If i was considering downsizing I might look at it

Effybriest · 05/09/2021 18:24

Agree it's not that far from manchester, rammy or bury. Even west yorks at a push. Awful blingy grey decor, also an attempt at farrow and ball (? Hague blue) in the kitchen I think ? No soul, unoriginal, bland and like someone's been looking at insta too much. It's as if they've just trawled the decor pages of the lidl free mag, Dunelm or the Range, at a push Next Sad

Shirleyphallus · 05/09/2021 18:27

I think some of these comments are pretty awful tbh. We’ve had threads commenting on £100k houses which rip apart the taste in decor and they’re often pulled apart / deleted as “not in the spirit”

Why is it ok for rich people to have their tastes pulled apart on a public forum? This is someone’s house and while the grey look isn’t to my taste, it’s their taste and certainly lots of peoples taste. So there is a market for it.

I think if this was a £100k house everyone would be saying how awful it is that someone’s house is put on a forum and then the decor critiqued.

Naptimenow · 05/09/2021 18:27

@ShowOfHands for someone with such strong opinions you really don’t like to be questioned do you?😂

Echobelly · 05/09/2021 18:28

Gotta say - hard to fault that. Tasteful without being too bland and stylised, lovely rooms. I like a little more colour, but at least it's not all grey.

Fitters put in a coral-coloured carpet in daughter's room this week and commented it was a lovely change to be fitting one that wasn't grey!

It was the same with beige and terracotta - every dog has its day!
Ninkanink · 05/09/2021 18:31

It’s nothing to do with money...there are plenty of rich people whose tastes I admire and whose decor is right up my street! Just happens that this isn’t.

I’m not going to apologise for that.

groundcontroltomontydon · 05/09/2021 18:41

O it's lovely - and a great place to play Cluedo too. Not sure about the big bath in the garden Grin but that landing with that window! I'd learn to do cartwheels just so I could cartwheel across it every morning.

decoratedstandardlamp · 05/09/2021 18:43

Did anyone see the house that was incredibly nearly £2 million posted on a thread yesterday?! I know which I'd choose.

Boobieboobieboobie · 05/09/2021 18:46

I know this house. Its a strange location, surrounded by bog standard houses. Beautiful though.

Happylittlethoughts · 05/09/2021 18:48

Mehhh .. inside and out.

Boobieboobieboobie · 05/09/2021 18:51

@BonnesVacances

I know Helmshore and they did well to take the photos on a sunny day. Grin And yes it's a beautiful house.

FreddieLounds · 05/09/2021 18:53

Stunning! It's worth the same as my parents' semi in Muswell Hill!! UK property prices are BATSHIT.

Boobieboobieboobie · 05/09/2021 18:56

@CinnamonJellyBeans

How is it so cheap? What is Rossendale like? I literally cannot imagine anywhere so bad that a house of that size and style would cost so little.
Helmshore is the best location in Rossendale. Its a funny little village, in the valleys, rains all the time. Its a mix of new comers and people whos familys have lived there for generations, can be very insular.
NotGCTUR · 05/09/2021 18:58

Interior is underwhelming

Marmelace · 05/09/2021 19:02

It's awful, no character, cold and bland. All fur coat and no knickers.

Naptimenow · 05/09/2021 20:22

I genuinely don't understand comments like these. No character really? Are you just looking at the furniture? What are you expecting? I get the comments about lack of land and the pool/spa, lack of loos on the second floor but lack of character - is that a piss take?

I've not heard of Muswell Hill so I've just looked it up on Zoopla and there are 1 bed flats that are £100k more expensive than my house (5 bed detached) 🤯 I don't understand why there is such a huge jump in princes between the North and South!
Houseofvelour · 05/09/2021 20:51

*prices, not princes 🤦‍♀️

Marmelace · 05/09/2021 20:56

@Naptimenow honestly just not my taste, not that hard to understand surely. Mind my idea of heaven would be a cabin in the woods somewhere.

HeronLanyon · 05/09/2021 20:59

I think all of the ‘cold bland no character’ stuff is pretty surface. At heart it’s a great house which has been ‘tarted up’ inappropriately. I looked at it imagining it full of my own stuff and wood restored and loo installed and hot tub removed. I think it’s a handsome house. (Still needs more land and outbuildings for my real ‘needs’.
