It's not, but I've always wanted to say it on these threads 😂😂

SeaToSki · 05/09/2021 01:02

What is with the random smallish gray rugs everywhere?

UrbanRambler · 05/09/2021 01:05

I like it, but would worry about security. Also, it would cost a fortune to run... you'd definitely need help to keep it clean and well maintained (unless you love cleaning and would be happy to spend a large chunk of each week cleaning it).

The decking and spa pools look naff and would have to go. I love gardening and would enjoy putting my stamp on that garden, and possibly giving some lawn up to raised beds and perhaps a sturdy chicken run. One acre would be enough to satisfy my gardening dreams.

CinnamonJellyBeans · 05/09/2021 01:06

How is it so cheap? What is Rossendale like? I literally cannot imagine anywhere so bad that a house of that size and style would cost so little.

Mintjulia · 05/09/2021 01:10

I like the kitchen but otherwise, not keen on the decor. Not a house to relax in.

And I'd have to take the photographer's wide angle lens away. Grin those photos will be quite misleading.

Move here and you get a pool, home cinema and helipad 😱

Mintjulia · 05/09/2021 01:17

Just seen the previous listing. It was much nicer beforehand.

Susannahmoody · 05/09/2021 01:24

I still have nightmares about visits to Helmshore Textile Mill as a 'day out' as a kid.

^

That house is so cheap because it's in rossendale

TurnTowardsTheSun · 05/09/2021 01:27

@LivingLaVidaBabyShower

Gorgeous but... the location 😨 and the cleaning 😱
This. Location awful. Also rather tasteless, as if somebody a bit common was attempting to make it look sophisticated? Maybe they hired some silly people to do a refurb before trying to sell and they've got it totally wrong, thinking roll top baths would be sufficient to appeal? 🤷🏻‍♀️Confused

But that is a flipping ugly house ! I wonder where they found someone who was still making those awful frilly draped curtain arrangements. I thought those went out in the 90s.

The cinemas nice though, and I rather like the idea of the treatment room, maybe one of the housekeeping staff could do a massage course.......

So much better! But very creepy. 😬

TurnTowardsTheSun · 05/09/2021 01:30

@idontlikealdi

It's my house. Glad you like it.
😂😂😂
Ninkanink · 05/09/2021 01:32

I like the house itself but the decor is awful.

This is so tacky! 🤨😬
BudrosBudrosGalli · 05/09/2021 01:34

For that money, I would expect a better counterflow swimming pool than that plastic one.

It's grim 2 star hotel kind of stuff, isn't it? 😐
chaosrabbitland · 05/09/2021 01:38

looks good from the outside , like the entrance with the stone lions , the fireplaces in the rooms are lovely , and i do like an attic bedroom , but apart from that its nah ,sterile , bland , all the character has been stripped out of it for modern furnishings , even the kitchen is awful ,
it mystifies me what the point is in a period house thats hundreds of years old looking modern inside , id have been happy to have it with all its orignal furniture , even the garden looks bland and sterile , needs more trees ,shrubs ,flowers ,hot tubs look daft , id rather it had a fountian feature similar to the era of the house

its been done up to appeal to famous footballers and such like folk i think

PrincessNutella · 05/09/2021 01:46

I was thinking the house was pretty good but i am gonna have to pony up the extra half mil for the castle now that I saw it.

You could always put in a cheeky much lower offer...

At least 1 is from BrandAlley
Furries · 05/09/2021 02:53

@Tooembarrassingtomention

Massively overpriced No land and you are paying for someone elses personal choices in decor
Around an acre isn’t “no land”!

That’s actually my ideal type of property - lovely looking house with different levels, with outside space that is generous but not too hard to keep on top of.

I agree with a pp, the rooms might not be as large as they look due to the lens used for photos.

And I am not a fan of their furnishings, I’d definitely have it looking better than that! And I can’t seem to stop looking at the grey door that isn’t fully painted!

NotJuryDutyAgain · 05/09/2021 02:54

I must be common, because I think I prefer the new decor to the old. It's nothing like what I have in my own home, but it looks nice enough to me!

I'd never keep up with all that cleaning, though!

OhRene · 05/09/2021 03:03

It's beautiful. It's lovely how the grey compliment the grey, with the lovely grey undertones.

I kid, it is a gorgeous place, but seriously, is the grey obsession not over yet?

0DimSumMum0 · 05/09/2021 03:17

I love the renovation. I think they've done a really good job and kept it tasteful! Huge house though. They are obviously trying to cash in whilst the market is hot.
