Hope everyone's got power and water back!

Lots of colleagues saying still without power - some for 24 hours now.

Kielder Winter Wonderland had to be cancelled and I spotted on the Facebook page that a tree had fallen on to a lodge - very lucky that everyone was evacuated safely!

I did have a little smirk at the irony of an announcement that one particular "winter wonderland" event was called off due to snowfall🌨️

Couldn't make it up in some cases could you @PickAChew .

Still no power here. Have packed 2 of 3 children off on a scouting event, a out doors but they will probably be warmer than at home. I've ventured out so sticking a little bit of power into my phone in the car. Hunting for top ups of batteries and camping gas for the lamp and stove plus more tins of soup. Have run out of coal too so need to find some stuff to burn and at least keep 1 room warm.

Oh no @OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea! Are there any batteries in particular you need and I'll have a dig in cupboards when I'm back this afternoon?

When I was prepping, I discovered that I seem to have put the torch in a Safe Place. It still hasn't turned up. The only problem I've had due to Arwen is that the Sky is not receiving a satellite signal.

No power for us (DH1) since Saturday night - we've decamped to husband's office for the afternoon - I've taken two layers off . NorthernPower says restoration by midnight..

Friday night sorry not Saturday night!

We have power too! What a glorious thing! Came back half an hour ago. Took a while to work out how to stop the burglar alarm to stop wailing and the boiler to reset but now the washing machine is on to attempt clean uniforms for tomorrow and ds3 is plugged into the computer. Happy days.

Pleased for both of you. I saw a pic of a tree that had taken down a line in Bearpark (I think). What a mess!

Pleased the electric is back on.
I’ve realised I have plenty of candles but I don’t have any candlesticks .
DD had her booster today, finally after weeks of trying managed to book a clinic.

Dh and I have our boosters on the 11th. Mine in Sacriston and his at the Arnison. Had Ds1 booked in at Arnison but the queues are ridiculous - he needs a sit down and not too long a wait. No idea what the facilities are like at other centres. I got a text from my gp after I already had a slot so holding out for one for him, too.

It’s weird isn’t it re boosters, I’m booked in at Arnison and DH at Sacriston but DD couldn’t get booked anywhere local, was offering her Nightingale and Newcastle. Then she received text from surgery and went straight on and got local one in 4 days.
And DH and I have been booked for weeks and our appointments aren’t due yet.

Yeah, I booked my Sacriston one a couple of weeks ago. Got the text from the surgery last week but there was no availability, anyhow - and it would have been in Brandon, so further to travel than Sacriston, which I can get to by a single bus, if I want.

I see Bearpark finally has power back!

I heard there was a nasty accident/collision at Langley Park this morning - hoping everyone involved is ok. There seem to be a lot of bad accidents happening at the moment as there was the one on the tip road only a month or so ago.

I'm looking forward (not sure if that's the right phrase) to the boosters being extended out to everyone over 18 so I can get mine. My second jab was back in June so my 6 months will be in December but not eligible at the moment. Have any of you had the AZ vaccine and then the Pfizer booster? And if so were you ok after? I was really ill after AZ jab 1 and hoping it won't be a repeat of that when I am due!

My DM had Pfizer after AZ vaccine. She was fine, but she had no side effects other than little ache in arm.
DD had Moderna vaccine and was ill after AZ vaccine and had headache and sore arm after moderna. But after a day only sore arm left.
I’m looking forward to mine too 😂. Booster.

Hi @Someaddedsugar - I had the AZ for my first two and then the Pfizer booster. I was ill after the first AZ but only a bit rough after the second.

For me the Pfizer booster was similar to the first AZ but not as severe - I could get out of bed but still felt like I’d taken a cricket bat around my head. It only lasted a day though. Fingers crossed you’ll be fine!

Yes there was a pretty bad accident near the jet garage. The road was closed for a while. Hopefully everyone was ok.

Just seen on Facebook about the crash! Someone said 7 cars, I hope everyone is okay.

I've not seen much but took me an hour and 20 min to get to work today instead of 15 min!

So many still without power, most of bearpark is still out and half our village. Friends dotted around in different places all without. I feel very lucky to have mine.

Can't believe it is 1st Dec tomorrow.
