Tomorrow I change my life

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 31/08/2021 20:36

I'm 30, a single mum to 3 and have the following list of diagnoses:

Autism

Depression

Anxiety

Psychosis with auditory and visual hallucinations

PTSD

Hypermobile ehlers danlos syndrome

Psoriatic arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis

Subrapubic disfunction

De Quervains tenosynovitis

Fibromyalgia

Binge eating disorder

I use a walking frame to help me mobilise and I am currently 19st 10lb.

Ive joined weight watchers, have a load of healthy snack options in.

I plan on getting between 6 and 8 thousand steps a day (have been slowly working up from 2000 for the last year)

I'm going to start keeping a journal and mark all appointments in a diary.

I'm going to do some gentle yoga every day, even if I only manage ten minutes.

Come cheer me on, join me in changing your life, or simply wish me luck.

Something I read which stayed with me is that the imagination is more powerful than the will - so keep on visualising your success, as you have done here, and hopefully it will help you keep going.

Best of luck!!

Wow you are amazing! And you can do this Op!

felulageller · 31/08/2021 21:49

Keep goals small and achievable and don't give up when you go through a blip/ platuea.

QueenHofScotland · 31/08/2021 21:49

I would like to join you please! Next week though….I am away this weekend and it will be a low activity weekend with lots of food, alcohol and a hot tub

TreadLightly3 · 31/08/2021 21:51

teraculum29 · 31/08/2021 21:51

well done on taking a new step in your life. and good luck on your journey.

please ask your doctor for blood test to check your vitamin D level.

it is proven that not enough of it can make some conditions (some you've mention) worse.

there will be ups and downs, take baby steps if necessary, take one day at the time.

I am on weight loss journey since March, lost 2st already. so finger x on your changing life for better. :)

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 01/09/2021 10:16

Downloaded why we eat (too much) audio book and started listening last night.

This morning I've wrote in my journal (space for a morning and night entry)
Transferred all my upcoming appointments into a diary then I can keep track of them, and I'm going to take the kids to the park so that I get some steps in and they get to burn off some energy.

I've had porridge for breakfast and I'm going to pack sandwiches to take to the park. I have seriously low carb rolls for me so it'll be less points.

FlowerPower3110 · 01/09/2021 10:32

Brilliant OP, you can do this!! Flowers

Sounds like you've had a good start, I love porridge for breakfast. Remember to take it one day at a time. There will be, ups and downs, smiles and frowns. Keep going and you WILL achieve your end goal.

Have fun at the park Smile

BikeRunSki · 01/09/2021 10:35

Good luck @HerRoyalRisesAgain.
May the wind be always at your back. Physically and metaphorically.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 01/09/2021 13:32

5564 steps done. Kids spent 2 hours playing and I took the opportunity to read some of a book on the park bench.
They happily scoffed sandwiches and I remembered to pack drinks too. I'm really on the ball Grin
Now home and going to play a board game with the kids.

I know it's not the same for everyone but I find music and exercise help a lot!
I'm not massive on exercise, just some hula hooping but I put my headphones in, listen to my favourite playlist and hula hoop. I find it really lifts my mood. Good luck, you got this 💪

PainterInPeril · 01/09/2021 14:16

@HerRoyalRisesAgain 👍🏻 Sounds like that will do your kids good too. You'll all feel more chilled out with all that exercise! Hopefully! Grin

Iveputmyselfonthenaughtystep · 01/09/2021 14:24

I'm going for a diagnosis of adhd and addressing some weight issues and I haven't got half the challenges you have - you're amazing. Best of luck!
